I knew from the moment I saw the thumbnail and video duration that this is not some half-arsed video that an opportunistic youtuber would make just to rake in the hype views. as someone who just started, this video really helps! thank you so much!!!
Quick tip I came up with early game! If you're stuck fighting in the dark hold E with your torch out to toss it on the ground! Then you'll have a nice lite up area to fight in. Just don't forget it when you're done 😬
sort of a side note to that, most enemies wont be able to climb steep slopes & ledges. so if you need to hold out until daylight, climb a small ledge or pillar or wall with the double-jump. as long as there's no enemies with projectile attacks within range, you'll be safe indefinitely. just watch out for overhanging things, because the AI pathing will have them plumet down on top of you!
Dude, this is the biggest beginner guide for ANY game that I’ve ever watched. Absolutely fantastic, I couldn’t stop watching it (though I wanted to play to do some of the things you mentioned that I haven’t done yet). Thanks so much for your time to do this!
New to this game. I just bought it today, and this tutorial helped me out HUGE. Appreciate the hard work you put in along with the great detail and explanation
Beginner tip from another beginner. Before you strengthen your flame you can only place two altars. One will be your base. Use the other one as a fast travel point, don't forget to destroy it (go into it's menu and click distinguish flame or whatever). So you can use it elsewhere. This way you can go adventure really deep and then when it starts getting dark you can place an altar, teleport home, sleep etc and teleport back.
I love this game and can't wait to see what else they will add for the full release. The building feature is by far my favorite part of the game. I made a hyper realistic viking inspired compound. Each of the NPC's has their own building or space in the main house. I went a bit crazy and spent about 15 hours building this place. Secret passages, extremely detailed, I get lost building in this game and it's stress relieving.
@LuckyGhost I love this guide it’s so informative without any real huge spoilers, I however may have found a reliable early game source of scrap metal, if you break the pods that are dotted around places like the blacksmiths tomb they give 3 scrap metal each and respawn like any other resource from logging out and in again, the blacksmiths tomb specifically has 17 of them dotted around and has a anvil in the ‘courtyard’ for repairing tools, which means you can use the lowest level pickaxe without having to teleport back and forth, that totals out to a minimum of 51 scrap per run
You seeing that legendary bow reward for a quest and saying "what the heck, I need to go do this right now!" is such a mood! Makes me wanna play this game.
This was a thorough demonstration of this game - I'm broaching on a hundred hours in this game and you still showed me things I never quite figured-out (the explanation of the quest types and how you might want to prioritize them is really useful especially if you're like me and kinda blindly stumbling across POIs). Thank you!
Quests, quests and MORE quests!! On Day Two my map was literally riddled with quest markers (story, npc and lore) and I was actually overwhelmed with what to do first. But like you are kind of saying here, I'm also an explorer-type and found most of them by just wandering around and exploring. My biggest challenge is that the map (even after opening it) doesn't show where roads/dirt paths are, so it can be difficult to know *how* to get to a particular quest because of terrain/shroud. I hope this changes in the future.
I came here for the most comprehensive beginner's guide and I definitely got the most comprehensive beginner's guide. So glad I subscribed to you years ago thanks man
Hey, I know this is an old vid at this point, but that's not how comfort works. You only get the best buff of any given comfort category. For instance, the highest comfort table is the only table that's counted. All other tables are useless. So craft the best table, run, fire, bed, chair, etc. that you can. (unless you're doing it for aesthetics of course)
I play a lot of these types of games and I appreciate that this is one of the only ones I've played that gives you a block under your home start piece instead of having something sitting on bare ground. I hate having a really nice house but your hearth or stone or computer or whatever is sitting around outside.
I can tell the future! Your channel will expand quickly because of this video :) BECAUSE, it's literally the only full guide on the entire UA-cam platform. Seems most people don't want to do a full guide for new players - thanks so much for making this! Please keep going with Enshrouded guides! subscribing now
@@spacequack5470it had a demo-release, even before the early access release. Look how much content is covered in this video. There's plenty of time and topics to make guides, but no one else has done a comprehensive one like this. What's wrong with being excited about that?

Excellent video for beginners to watch, should be required viewing, I think potentially this game has a great future, it needs some more development but they are on the right track
after playing Valheim for a good while, this game hit me like crack in the 80s to think that this is _Early Access_ is stunning! i have 64 hours logged in only 4 days already, and the amount of things to do still feels out of sight. and the building/terrain system is absolutely GOATED! i've been prioritizing unlocking new block recipes because if the POIs are anything to go on, I could really get down with what I could build. a little tip i learned regarding climbing steep slopes: carry two pickaxes! you can use them to carve a little path _through_ the rock to get you up some cliffs! very useful when the terrain is being uncooperative lol
I highly recommend you move your 1st flame alter into long keep. That way even fully upgraded most of the trees will be outside of the build area. So you have a super safe early game area to get lumber twigs etc. Plus its super easy to enclose a building for your npcs without wasting space or a ton of resources
What an excellent guide! Really has meat on the bones! You get us through every nook, cranny, ah-ha!, Uhh oh!, and all the little minutiae most guides leave out (the chests, for example) you include. Amazing quality. Thank you!
Great video. Thanks for sharing, I learned a lot of valuable information. However, I did play around with the comfort buff. It seems that you get from furniture only increases for the highest grade per type of furniture. Building multiple tables only the highest comfort table will be counted. In the bathroom section, there is a tub, a toilet, and sink and each is counted individually to stack the comfort buff. Edit: some of the furniture pieces are mislabeled and give different levels of comfort than stated. So pay attention to how much it actually is giving you when you place it. The rested buff fills up when the conditions are met for it. So as long as you have any comfort level and a source of warmth you can activate it no matter where you are. If you have the other parts you can get it by either - being sheltered, sleeping, or sitting down(press X).
Besides of double jump, you should also consider using a pickaxe for reaching locations. This also lets you recover thomstones at ledges like the ones at lava basins where you slip and die and can't go there again, because you will slide down into lava when you try. It took me some time to realize that you can do a lot of stuff you simply can't in many other games.
Small addendum(s): the blacksmith can craft lock picks for 1 scrap metal. If you craft them at the bench, or manually, they cost 2 scrap pieces. when you are using Shift+R to dump items in your chests, the items from the two bars are not affected. So, if I have some wood in one of the slots from the bars, it will not get deposited in the chest. In the same way, food and potions that you have in the two bars do not get dumped in the chests automatically - only the items from your backpack are affected. If you have any stack-able items on the bar, and you interact with a chest that contains more of that item then press Shift + F, then the game will move items from the chest into your two bars, filling up the incomplete stacks. Very useful for a quick top-up of food, potions, bandages etc. Do be careful though, as pressing just R when interacting with a chest tries to move as many items from your backpack to the chest as possible and pressing F is 'take all items from the chest'.
The buildingin this game is so realistic and so comprehensive, allowing for essentially 1/4th a minecraft voxel, i would wouldntbe suprised to see this game used in universities for things like engineering and architecture demonstrations and class projects. I hope they release modder tools that allow us to make detailed textured voxel skin.
You touched on torch usage and how it sucks when switching to a weapon. Just throw the torch (hold E) and it will at least light up a small area that you can fight in. Pick it back up when you're done with combat.
Game is a blast, nice guide. I feel this game is more of an ARPG than survival. It does have survival elements but you won't from hunger, thirst, etc. It is not an onerous survival mechanic.
awesome guide I only wanted some feels while I waited for it to download but just couldn't stop watching, usually prefer to play blind so great job keeping me watching :)
It's so funny to me that people were saying the combat in this game looks so terrible and clunky, and now that they've played it their tune has changed lol it's not souls-like combat, but for a survival crafting rpg it's amazing I think
@@Zederok Yeah, but the main complaint lies with the lack of impact and a sense of hitting. It's missing that ''thunk/oompf'' so to speak. It's not necessarily the mechanics that are lacking, rather its everything that surrounds it in terms of visual and audio feedback.
Hiyas, just wanted to say thank you for your time & effort you put into this video!! I'm brand new to Enshrouded and my tired brain couldn't figure out some basic stuff to get going with the game. awesome guide I only wanted some feels while I waited for it to download but just couldn't stop watching, usually prefer to play blind so great job keeping me watching :)
Glad you enjoyed! 😊
Awesome guide as always! The time you put into these are much appreciated
A good mention for those on the fence about getting this game. If you played and enjoyed Valheim, then you will love this game 😊
Just imagine how much better ESO would've been with this combat.
It's so funny to me that people were saying the combat in this game looks so terrible and clunky, and now that they've played it their tune has changed lol it's not souls-like combat, but for a survival crafting rpg it's amazing I think
Yes
ESO’s combat is fine, it just lacks a beter sense of impact.
@@LucaDavoli_ millions of players who've played would beg to differ. Ask around and the #1 most common complain of ESO is it's combat.
@@Zederok Yeah, but the main complaint lies with the lack of impact and a sense of hitting. It's missing that ''thunk/oompf'' so to speak. It's not necessarily the mechanics that are lacking, rather its everything that surrounds it in terms of visual and audio feedback.
Thank you, this is just perfect! I’m a newbie to survival games so this helps a bunch! 😁
My pleasure, have fun! It's a great genre
Thank you for putting the time and effort into this, amazing guide!
Outstanding beginner guide, well done. Thank you!
Hiyas, just wanted to say thank you for your time & effort you put into this video!! I'm brand new to Enshrouded and my tired brain couldn't figure out some basic stuff to get going with the game. Your video is perfection and I can't wait to load up the game now! Much appreciated!
p.s. The Skyrim mountain climbing reference made me laugh xD
This is the best play tutorial I've ever seen anyone do on UA-cam for a video game. Thorough, but concise. How do you do that? Thank you. I'll be a new subscriber!
thanks so much! Its my favorite type of guide to make!
