Nice Hope you show more of the build thanks.
Good morning. I really like your videos, I learn a lot from them. I bought the Black Horse Viper 1.88m model, and I want to apply an automotive varnish to the fuselage to give it a glossy finish. The problem is that I'm afraid of applying the varnish and ruining the plastic that covered the fuselage.
I ask you, what brand or type of varnish you applied to the plane. Do you know if, when preparing the viper body for varnishing, it was necessary to sand the body for the varnish to adhere?
Thanks
Prep the surface with a Scotch-Brite it needs to have a little bit or a scuf so that the clear coat can stick better. Use a two-stage clear coat Automotive urethane that you can purchase from Carquest. A good brand is NASON AUTOMOTIVE FINISHES
Looks awesome 👌
Good morning Garfield Houston. I follow your videos, and I would like to know if the varnish you applied on the fuselage of the viper is loosening, or if it is still good? I'm asking because I have a viper and that I apply varnish to the body of the plane.
hello, what did you used to shine the plane? is it 2k coating? grts from europe :)
How much weight did the clear add? I’m doing the same build now and I paint cars for a living, and can see this adding a significant amount depending on the number of coats. Interested if you weighed before and after ? But I will say that the color’s definitely pop now !
Dude, I wouldn't even worry about it. The additional weight is next to nothing for the power that you're putting in the plane. I was able to get 290 kilometers per hour. Don't worry about it. Just do it. With the weight, my stall speed was 70 km an hour. All of this was measured with a pitot tube that I installed in the plane, so the additional weight didn't really impact performance.
Looks awesome Garfield!!
Who is that guy from Poland?
How can I watch his stuff?

Hi Garfield. I have been watching your progress on the Viper. Mine finally shipped from Turbines-RC last week. Have you installed your LEDs in the wingtips yet? with the way the winglets are designed, I am trying to figure out placement. I want navigation and strobes on each wing.
I have installed LED lights for the wingtips nose gear and afterburner. My recommendation would be to go with the unilyte system yes you do pay premium for it but hands down best system on the market. I didn't use that system and now wish that I did. My Viper is almost completed and I will be doing an updated video in the coming weeks. Cheers
@@ghoustanable Thanks. If you get a chance could you get a shot of the wingtip installation?
@@johnlouden7661 made a video just for you to answer the question. ua-cam.com/video/JN6YMLZK2X4/v-deo.html
How much extra weight did the clear coat add to the fuselage?
Wasn't very much maybe a hundred grams or so
