Glad to see a un-boxing of this plane. Am not that crazy about the color scheme. But had been thinking of getting one. Seen lots of flight video's on this model but no one has mention that take on it. So I'd say it has to be a pretty good plane as there's so many videos out there. This is the first un-boxing. I was wondering that same if this plane and the MB-339 is built by the factory. Which model servo's did you order? Like the other fellow said, the automotive clear coat is much better. I'm doing a paint job on a model and using automotive paints. The clear coat give a very glossy shine and it make the surface very hard. It cost about $34 in a spray bottle but will worth it. Put it on a foam plane makes the wings hard like a composite model. Thanks for the video.
Allen, I have the EDF version of this bird with same type of covering. It takes a couple of coats of Minwax Polycrylic gloss and comes out much much better, plus protects from bubbling in the sun. I am very pleased with mine. Will you be able to fly it at your home field?
Not so cool when every time you touch a part during assembly you have to wash your hands first. Any oil (even natural skin oil), locktite, adhesive, anything will leave a mark… even after cleaning with alcohol. It’s a nightmare.
I have one and the covering SUCKS ! It shows every fingerprint and is hard to get it off. I ended up clear coating mine. Oh, the covering also bubbles up in direct sunlight. Great plane horrible covering.

What clear coat did you end up using? Did it help much?
The best clear coat for these black horse models is use automotive clear coat.
Yeah, I might have to open the wallet a little wider and go that way.
What servo did you use and was there any modifications needed to make them fit?
I used Spektrum SPMSA5080. Perfect fit.

I put a clear coat on mine too,,, I might just repaint it later. I hate this covering.
