My husband (Brad) and I were there and spoke with each of you. We almost didn't approach because we didn't want to bother you. So glad we did! You both are so personable and friendly. Thanks for chatting, thanks for the pics, and Jeff thanks for the help picking out a Dice Throne game. You both have been pivotal in getting our family into the boardgame hobby. Much appreciated.
Hi Jamie!!! I am the one that spoke to you and gave you the friendship bracelets!! Just got back from seeing Taylor in England and saw this video! Thanks for the shout out!! It was enchanting to meet you!!! 🫶🫶🫶
Love hearing your recap! I heard Gencon was madness this year but it seems you both really made the best of it! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with those of us who are living vicariously through you guys ;)
I approach Gen Con like I approach Disney. I plan the entire thing out over months and book my events as soon as they become available. For me, that is part of the experience. If you go in without a plan and with no games pre-booked, it is going to be overwhelming and you won't get to play as much. It is definitely not for everyone, but I absolutely love it. I also loved the Final Girl Crowd Control event. It was a hilarious good time and it was very nice to meet Jamie in person. You're going to need a bigger room next year!
Sorry to hear you got the 'vid. Hope you both feel better soon. It was great to get to meet both of you in the Dealer Hall. Jeff - Thanks for helping us with Dice Throne. You both made us feel very welcome and really added to our GenCon experience.
I'm so glad you mentioned the crickets...I couldn't figure out if that was my bad ears or something else. I am also STOKED about Pagan! I preordered it and am waiting for it. I look forward to your content on this! I bought tickets for BGG con in Nov! I look forward to saying hi to you guys! Gotta figure out the hotel thing, looks like that hotel is boooooked.
Yay! I'm so glad someone put The Gang into your collection! Jamie, Jeff wasn't offering it at the time, but I never would have let him sign over your signature or forehead.
Back from D23 and came over because I already miss you guys. ❤️ honestly this gencon surprisingly was pretty great for me. Loved being able to play more games. I definitely focused more on spending time with people I love!
Ohhhh! I think you guys willl like Pagan a lot! Most immersive 2-Player Game I've ever played. We ususally take turns playing the witch. Because playing the witch you will spend most of the game in constant fear ;) ... And Thanks a lot to you for the wonderful content you are providing for us!
@@FostertheMeeple Indeed! And the way it changes over the course of the game from deduction to a rather strategic card- / tableau-building game is awesome. With all the games you guys are playing, I hope you'll find the time to play it again. ;)
One of the biggest things that I missed about not going to GenCon was being able to see both of you! You two are wonderful folks. You are so wrong about the signature, Jeff.
I loved the opportunity to go to media events and meetings, but zero lies were told about how stressful the scheduling can be 😅 Glad I got to see you Jamie, sorry I missed you Jeff!!
Gen Con is what you make it. Madness, yes, that's inescapable, but you choose your own adventure. If you want to shop, shop. If you want to game, go game. If you want to take a bunch of classes, sign up until you drop. You can even do some of each. It all depends on how much time you have and what your priorities are. All we did is shop and demo a few games, and we made probably about 5 round trips throughout the hall within the 4 days. I regret not demoing or playing as many games as I'd have liked, and I would have liked to slow down a bit, check out the sewing/crafting area, and actually go play a full demo game or two. So, those will be my goals for next year. This year I had a list of things (not games) to go do or get the beginning of the first day, and I did not enjoy that. So, I'll be going back to our original plan of just shuffling at our own pace in the beginning. It was our second Gen Con and the only con we've ever been to. 😅 It's exactly what we expected. However, a smaller con would also be nice to experience. Lol
Every time I hear "Seers Catalog", my brain can't help but conjure up the image of Moe Szyslak hooked up to a lie detector, talking about his "hot date" 🤣
Thanks for the video! Even though it's a 4-5 hour drive from here, it will definitely be a while for me to muster up gumption to attend Gen Con or any big-named convention. Moreover, I'd prefer playing / teaching / demoing board games than the first-come-first-serve chaotic rush of purchasing them. There are a couple of local low-key cons that have that preference which I should try to attend more sometime. When Pop-Up Gen Con was a thing (unfortunately twice), my FLGS was among the hosts and I took part in playing & teaching the games & activities then. Hope you both recover from the Vid soon! Looking forward to hear your thoughts about the games you got, review copies or not. :)
Glad i got to meet you two! Wish jeff could have swng by the xplored booth. Would have been fun to show off the teburu. Hopefully, they will get ahold of you soon so you can cover it.
I saw Jamie running demos, but I didn’t stop by because to be honest, everything from Van Ryder that I’m interested in, I already own. But if I knew about the Final Girl promo card, I totally would have stopped. I’m getting it in the Kickstarter, but getting it early would have been cool.
to Shakespeare!!! Ah, so happy you were able to get a copy! Kudos to Joey on the Discord! Hope you enjoy; we had a really low bar when we got it because of a bunch of lukewarm reviews, but wanted to try it anyway because we're theatre folk, and absolutely loved it. 100% a sleeper hit that's now a personal favorite.
Definitely did not expect to see you both the morning I came by to scoop up stuff. Hopefully next time we can chat more than just a few seconds before the stampede, haha.
The cricket was making me think I was crazy. I was listening in my car and kept looking for a cricket in my car until I noticed it stopped when the video stopped.
So refreshing to hear logical people saying ‘hey you don’t need to run in like a maniac or bring a wagon to a convention’ 😂 great haul, Middle Ages is based on Majesty for the Realm - super underrated so glad it got a reimplement. You guys are awesome, looks like y’all had a ton of fun.
So sorry to hear that you both caught COVID. I was unable to say hi to you, Jamie. I only saw you once and you had quite the line at that point. Not complaining, just impressed. I think i only saw two lines to meet people all weekend. (Lines of more than a handful anyway)
Cool games you got at GenCon!👌🏽 We've never been there, but we have seen many videos and we'll love to go someday (even though it would be quite a journey)!😊 This year is the first time we'll be attending the Spiel fair in Essen, will you be there? It would be great to meet and chat for a bit😄
Leave that wagon at home, per Gen Con, lol. My husband's backpack almost got him into an actual fight.. yikes! This was our first con, and I was like whoa...."people be trippin" 🤣, but it was totally awesome, we saw videos of previous Gen Cons and definitely expected the chaos. We had a fantastic time and by some miracle did not get sick. I am sad that we missed you guys, we would have loved to say hi.
Man, it seems like more people came home with COVID than with Comic Hunters! I hope you both feel better asap. Wagons in the aisles are the worst, especially for those who require mobility aids, they're impossible to navigate around.
I'm in a Facebook Group called Fans of Gen Con. They do a poll every year of "did you get COVID?" This year 14.8% (maybe, definitely 14+) said they did, up from over 10% last year. So I'm guessing way more COVID than Comic Hunters. I was lucky myself.
I have never once taken a sticker off, I just cut them with a knife because I can deal with the look of the sticker on there, but could not deal with any box damage. Your box damage was off the charts though. That would make me cry!
My whole group came home sick as well, I hope you feel better soon. When we moved Elder Scrolls to the Demo Floor everyday we had to use a cart just for the 6 copies we were showing off.
Pagan fate of Roanoke!!! -- cannot wait for the review (27:28) on this! I ALMOST bought it last weekend but I said "ehhhhh I need to know what Jamie and Jeff think first..."

I came by to say hi but wish I’d had more time to chat with you both beyond that! You both seemed so busy that I didn’t wanna take up much of your time.
Amen on the wagons. I only attend BGG but dang its annoying with those wagoneers. I understand though if that person is a seller in the bazaar or virtual flea market.
A game I'm waiting for is Wondrous Creatures. It is so close to delivering I expected it to be at Gen Con. Did you see it there? I have watched and read a lot of Gen Con recaps and I have not seen it mentioned it once.

Hey newerish fan and loving the channel. I noticed in another video vlog you guys were flying to Dallas put of air Canada. Are you guys fellow Canadians? If so what part of Canada are you guys from?
I used to say "Some day" for GenCon, but after attending the last two PaxU's, I think that's a big enough con for me. We had to decide between PaxU later this year and LevelUp Retreat early next year, and for a few reasons, LevelUp makes more sense for us this time. Any chance the two of you will be at LevelUp (Jan 31- Feb 2) next year?
To be honest we don’t normally answer questions about our personal lives. But this one comes up enough. Jamie just doesn’t wear her rings around the house. Never has.

There's no running at GenCon.
you have to get a shrimp cocktail from St Elmos Fire or it's sister place nextdoor. yummmmm

Is it it me or is there a cricket in the background? (just an observation, not a complaint)
I was just searching for that Cricket till the video ended LOL
Oh yea there’s a cricket. We had a window open and a friendly cricket was chilling right outside
Jamie, so there was a fly on my computer screen right on top of your face so I just want to apologize for slapping you in the face just now.
