Others do talk about Hooky! The Dice Tower just did their top 10 deduction games and it made Tom’s #1. It was in Zee or Chris’s top 10 too, can’t remember which It’s in my wife’s top 5 games, so we play it pretty often. Wish there were a good 2 player variant
I just ordered Castle Party because I saw it on a TT. It looks so good. I really want Hooky because of you. I think I'd love it. I just need to get it.
I know it’s been out awhile and it is in the top 40 (or so) on BGA, but Everdell and it’s expansions don’t get enough talk. And don’t miss a new game this year called Lords of Baseball. VERY well done simulation of running a baseball franchise. I highly recommend it.
Love how Jamie turned into the intersection of Outshined and Overshadowed and just decided "welp - might as well drive straight into the lamppost for ratings." Well played.
Great video, I really enjoyed the topic and you gave me a few games to look into. If you haven’t tried Rhino Hero or Rhino Hero Super Battle I highly recommend. It is a kids game but I would play it anytime with anyone.
That edition of Get Bit looks nice. I've wanted it since I saw it on Table Top ages ago, that edition was robot looking figures. Found old editions a few times that thrift stores, but they are always missing a bunch of limbs.

Love the list as always. Before I tell you my favorite I want to name one of those small box Devir games that are a ton of fun. I love playing Savernake Forest and I haven't seen many people talking about it - only Libby and Julian if I remember correctly. It is a very light game but it's always a good time. And, yes, Lemmings is an IP. I played the SNES game when I was a kid. I think someone else in the comments already told the darker side of the Lemmings myth. I think the ones I want to play most from this list are Hooky and Psychic Pizza Deliverers Go To Ghost Time. I would have said Cuphead but I MIGHT be able to play that one next weekend.
Psychic Pizza. Yes!! I know it is not the point of the game but I consider it a win if I figure out the town borders. The more stuff in the town I get is just a bigger bonus. I do try to win but there is a luck element that sometimes makes it feel impossible.
I've had Mirroring of Mary King on my BGG wishlist for a long time, might need to bump up the ranks now! Also its almost spooky season, drop your haunted house story! 😅
True! Oh, so true. I have a dear friend on a plant-based diet, which I completely understand how well that works for so many, but if you have type two, it’s just not a fit to eat oatmeal. Yes other plants may be most of them. I don’t know, but definitely grains, whether whole, steel cut, and especially any processed, Have hit me hard. I had to prove it to my friends yesterday and they noted that I just had a tiny bit of the crust of bread, and within an hour, my blood sugar, which started at 103, Rose to 223 within 30 minutes, and over 283 within an hour. I had also eaten 6 oz. protein, Zucchini and then I had a half of a popover. They believed that just a “little bit“ wouldn’t hurt. It can. For me, it always does. Each person is uniquely different and it is so important to have that glucose monitor. I had not realized just how important until I actually got it, thinking that “a little bit“ is “OK“ maybe for somebody, but not for me. If you have the opportunity to get one because you qualify with your health insurance, it’s simple and easy to use. I resisted it and now I wish I had never resisted it. So happy to have it because even the nutritionist has made so many errors I just had to let her go. She was following general principles that absolutely do not work for me. I don’t know where these principles come from but she had me eating foods. I just don’t eat like pasta? That’s because I also have kidney disease so she was putting me on a renal diet, which pasta is fine for but not if you have type two diabetes. At least not for me and not for most people that I know. Good luck to everyone!
I recommend Kolejka, it’s a polish queueing game set in the communist era. Is a dry worker placement euro wrapped around a super mean take that card game Players queue outside the five available shops to buy items from their shopping list. Then only two stores get delivery of goods. It’s then that players use their cards to manipulate the lines to get to the front and be the one to get the item they need. It’s super thematic, hilariously mean and only available on eBay directly from Poland and it’s been banned in Russia!
Just did a bgprices search for Hooky here in the UK and it doesn't even know the game exists! 😢 We will have to keep our eyes peeled at Essen and hope 🙏
I totally agree with Castle Party, it has quickly become me my partners favorite game! It doesn't have the best review on BGG which sucks because with the right group it is an amazing game, fast to play but with lots to think about!
Lemmings was my favorite Nintendo game when I was a kid. As an adult I wanted a copy again and it was so hard to find I started to think I had made it up. Poor lemmings never get enough attention!

Excellent list will keep my eye out for Deadly Dowagers and Get Bit. Just discovered a beautiful tile laying me called one-hundred Torii by Pencil First, nice solo mode. Not hearing about it.
I would love to play Hooky with you, Jamie, if you have time at PAX. I've been wanting to try it, but my game group doesn't typically go for deduction games.
I feel like Myrmes should have way more recognition than it does! AWESOME little euro game about building ant colonies 😁 ALSO, Seikatsu and Monasterium.
You could probably put any Jenna Felli game in this list. Her games are so fascinating and different than everything else on the market. Mirroring of Mary King is a solid choice, Duhr: The Lesser Houses is another. Cosmic Frog is probably my favorite of her work.
I've been between Tenpenny and Grand Carnival for a while, but haven't felt like there's been a lot of opinions on Grand Carnival, which did hold me back from trying.
Go Nuts for Donuts is a pretty fun bidding type game. I think it might be considered a kids game but we have only played with adults and everyone has loved it. (Def for 3-4+) people

Lemmings is a video game, but the lemming is a real animal. Theres a long-standing myth that lemmings' migratory instinct is so strong that they'll jump off cliffs or into the sea just to "go south". The myth inspired both games. Unfun fact: a Disney documentary crew staged this event and herded a group of lemmings off a cliff for a 1950s movie. To this day, the legend has "outshawn" reality.
