Samosas are actually pretty easy to make. I'm an Indian and so happy that people who aren't Indian also enjoy our cuisine🤗. Though they may think that it's too spicy😂
I'm getting more into Indian food... I never really realized how bland most food in America was till I started using more spices! I've been putting curry and such spices in just about everything lately
Once my mother went to get samosas from the Indian store and my dad didn’t know so he called to order them but the guy said they were all gone. My dad called/texted my mom to tell her the samosas were gone but just then my mom walked in with the samosas. She had the heard someone was ordering samosas so she just bought them quick. Haha
OMG do any indians who live in pune remember just going to the shops getting so many that you cant eat all of them alone but still hog them all? just me? ps. we have lamb or "kheema" and chicken filling and of course we following my tradition we go crazy with the spices! in the lamb we usually have it nice and spicy and the chicken can be mint and green chilli or spicy (yes we love our chilly and turmeric) we usually have ketchup or more commonly a sweet and tangy tamarind chutney we also like adding something called pav bhaji masala which is a mix of spices which just makes the vegetarian samosa magical love the recipe! and lovely to hear that the Irish love indian food we are very proud of it
Hey I’m a chef from India and I love trying out your breads and it was fun seeing you try our samosas which is a staple in our homes! You can also try mixing ghee in the dough which gives it a richer taste- and we usually roast the mashed potatoes and peas too with the spices and chilli before adding them as a filling! In some parts they add peanut, cashews or even shredded coconut in the filling! And you can try with coriander Chutney as a dip!
Hi Gemma.. Hello Gemma, I feel good to hear you like Indian food and I'm happy that I get to see this from my fav UA-camr....For samosas we also saute the masalas along with tadka(tadka is nothing but spluttering mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves in oil)instead of directly adding to potatoes, this way the raw smell of masalas go away, also we add a 1/2 tsp of sugar while sauteing, little onions and then we add potatoes to the pan and cook for 5 mints, add coriander leaves, switch off flame, also adding crushed whole coriander seeds instead of powdered coriander while sauteing masalas enhances its flavour,it goes to next level...AND for the dough we can also use Clarified Butter(ghee)instead of oil,if Carom seeds aren't available we can replace it with cumin seeds too....Love from India...
It's very easy to make, Paula. And really, it is just gorgeous! Here's the recipe if you're giving this a go www.biggerbolderbaking.com/samosas-from-scratch/

Hey Gemma! I'm an Indian too!! So I've had tons of these and they are very delicious 😋 I make samosas using wheat flour to make it healthier and I don't notice a difference! Please make more Indian recipes as I think u have many Indian fans too! Love from India!
I love your energy and enthusiasm, Gemma! And your recipes are actually really great too...I discovered microwave mug cakes from your videos. Also, I like how you try to make sure the ingredients are easy to find at home without the need for visiting the grocery shop...which according to me, is a very Indian thing to do. More often than not, we buy and store ingredients in slightly larger quantities without really having just one dish in mind and then when we cook, we cook with whatever we have at home. So I always come here when I dont have a certain ingredient thinking- "Gemma may have a workaround for this." So thanks for that. :)

Wow an indian snack recipe. Starring at ajwain🤣🤣 iam an indian tq for the recipe It's better to knead the dough in a wide mixing bowl or flour I fry the filling too and i add chilli powder
Add some fried peanuts in the mashed potatoes along with some other vegetables like cauliflower, and it's gonna taste more yummy if you add green chilli paste in it, for extra spice.

I have been watching your video since forever I have tried your many recipes I also have a channel please see it I am only 12 still I have a cooking channel inspired by you 😉... Good luck and warm wishes for your future Love from India ❤️
Used to virtually live off samosas and chai when I lived in India on a tight budget. Here in France I'm a bit impatient so I make my samosas more like big pasties...less fiddly :D Great with home-made pumpkin chutney!
That looks fabulous! I've heard of samosas so many times but never knew they were Indian. That looks so delicious and I'm sure it tastes amazing as an addition with a meal, great job Gemma and Ami! 🍴❤️🤗
My first boyfriend was of Indian heritage. His mum used to make loads of samosas and she would literally give me a carrier bag full of them to take home each time - I didn't complain!

Thankyou so much for giving us new recepies to try out. Gemma i have a question related to your best ever choc-chip muffins. For how long and how much do we have to preheat the oven? And can we make it as a cake or brownie as well? Love from Pakistan❤
Hi Maria. You preheat it until it reaches the temperature indicated in the recipe. Ovens don't distribute heat the same way, so the time could vary. The temperature is your best indicator that that oven is ready. You can bake it in a bigger pan, but it will turn more close to cake than brownies. I suggest you make brownies using a recipe for brownies, as the proportions for ingredients would be significantly different.

It's better to knead the dough in a wide mixing bowl or flour
I fry the filling too and i add chilli powder
Thank you for sharing, Basava.
@@biggerbolderbaking welcome.......I am jayanth & Basava is my surname
Hi I am from India and this recipe is great really liked it thanks
Thanks a million, Shreya!
Traditionally it is indeed just pateto feeling, but its so easy that you can experiment with the different feelings and will still taste great
Thank you so much for watching! Hope you give this recipe a go and enjoy !
Add some fried peanuts in the mashed potatoes along with some other vegetables like cauliflower, and it's gonna taste more yummy if you add green chilli paste in it, for extra spice.
Sounds great! Thank you for sharing, Debarati.
I'm 12 and I can make samosa all the time, it's simple and family loves me whenever I make this for them.

@@biggerbolderbaking I will definitely:) thanks again
Used to virtually live off samosas and chai when I lived in India on a tight budget. Here in France I'm a bit impatient so I make my samosas more like big pasties...less fiddly :D Great with home-made pumpkin chutney!
Sounds great! Thank you for sharing, Ardevi.

She's fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
As an Indian I approve her pronunciation of Samosa 👍
Thanks a million!

Gemma, I just like the way you are! So authentic and just adorable. I think it was so cool, how you just explained her, that you like to mesure shortly. I guess you are a perfectionist and you like it to have it clear. (Hope my english is undersantable) I am totaly with you. 😊

Here in pakistan we also called it samosas with lot of differnt fillings like beef, chicken, vegetables, daal, and potatos but your recipea is also amzing❤️❤️💖💖💖💖😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much for sharing.
@@biggerbolderbaking thankyou for replying😀😊
Wow 😳 I never thought you'd make an Indian recipe
