Yes. Most people are so mean and dull whereas she's so uplifting and sweet. Having a person to always remind you of the bright side of life in their own special way must be amazing.
@@SuperCybertiger There is no correlation between (Asperger-)Autism and IQ. Those people, independent of their IQ, are just more conspicuous. Hence, people with higher IQs and those disorders are more likely to be diagnosed and tested (which is a standard procedure when diagnosing someone with something neurodivergent). People who are highly intelligent, but don't have any disorder, are less likely to be tested. I have an IQ a bit higher than that (I also have evidence, but that's not the point), but I wasn't primarily tested for my IQ, but because I have OCPD and comorbid OCD, which made be more prone to being tested and conspicuous. Just for further clarification: you generally said that intelligence and autism or linked whatsoever, which isn't true. If one takes your comment literally and out of context, then yes, a diagnosis and IQ testing go hand-in-hand.
@@sonicmaths8285As far as I am aware, there is currently a correlation between both fluid and crystallized intelligence with aspergers. I'm wondering where you got the info that disproves this?
@@Hiro_515 My gosh, there obviously isn’t one. Through common sense and some (proper) research you will arrive at the same conclusion. Also, you seemingly don’t understand statistics, so let’s look at that purely speculative phenomenon closer: Suppose there exists a “correlation” (mark/highlight this word), then this doesn’t mean just because you have Asperger’s you automatically are more knowledgeable and intelligent then the average person. It would just primarily show us that there exist people who also are intelligent and have Asperger’s. If otherwise, then we have the situation as I have already mentioned above. Correlation isn’t causality, which is assumed here, but this isn’t true at all. Asperger (or autism in general) doesn’t imply intelligence in the least. There exist way more Asperger-people with average IQ scores then there are otherwise. It would highly interest me where you have found your information proving this ridiculousness.
I absolutely would have been this girl's BFF if I went to high school with her! I hope she never loses her shine. She has such a fun and bubbly personality ☺️
Why there's gotta be always these kind of people in the comments throwing around BFF sounding like charity? She probably wouldn't want to be your friend, all kids are the same and you were most likely no different of all of her school mates, stop trying to get praise on youtube comments
I'm autistic as well, and seeing her be happy and not afraid to be herself makes me filled with Joy. I've dealt with a lot of self-esteem issues and isolation from the world because of my diagnosis, but I'm slowly learning to "feel like a rainbow" again to put in Ellie's words, and videos like these help me to reach that feeling♥️
as a fellow autistic individual, i deeply relate to Ellie's experience, and it's great to see people like us represented accurately on a popular youtube channel :)
The only "problem" this girl has is that she's in high school and is dealing with trying to conform to all her peers' expectations. And those expectations are predicated on shallow social constructs formed in naive, young minds. Once she escapes that constant influence, she'll realize that there's absolutely nothing wrong with her, and that being herself is the greatest gift she can share with everyone. I love her.
Totally agree! She's an individual, she is herself, just let her be. She's so sweet and would be a blast to be around. Unfortunately someone has told her her whole life that she's different, somethings wrong, and that in itself changes the brain. But I think she's awesome. She will go places
As a person in highschool, high schoolers are so judgmental. It's like a competition everyday going to school to be popular or trying to be cool and act like someone you aren't, specifically American highschool.
@@fbiagent3998 You are correct! But have you tried other countries high schools? They're the exact same. Also, everyone is judgemental AFTER high school, but trust me, you will find a point where you wont give a crap anymore and THEN you will be free and happier than ever. People told me I'd be lucky to have 2 real friends as an adult, and they were right. My 2 friends don't care what I do or say or how I act they stick around and don't care about what's "popular" and everyone else will use you then ignore you, sooo screw em! Remember these words and come back to say "Hi" one day
I completely agree. I was a male version of her. I drew a lot of parallels with the way she is and how I grew up. I adapted but it takes time. You build confidence and skills over time. It’s not easy but everyone has their own struggle. She different but I don’t think she has a “learning disability” or autism. I hope she understands that although she has a different way of seeing the world it’s a gift not a hinderance.
She has star quality for sure. And as far as autism goes I’d like to just show this or her to everyone I’ve hear make an ignorant comment like when a family member told me my son was “too smart” to be autistic when we had some concerns. He’s finally speaking and more than likely has sensory processing disorder and yes he’s very intelligent and just a joy to be around but I can’t stand the ignorance and misinformation. And I’m not trying to be negative but people on the spectrum are so unique and there’s so many different levels and different personalities and strengths and quite frankly they’re beautiful souls , too bad some see it as a negative reflection on them. I want to say well you’re not that smart so don’t worry no one thinks he’s getting any intelligence from you anyway 🙄🙄🙄
@@rissadingram4548 It reminds me of what my mum said, so many of us are on some level, we are all unique. Omg. She’s just like me. I legit almost cried when I read the description because I was like, wow - that’s me. I’m 16 and I still play with dolls, just like she still watches cartoons. Like her, it feels like there’s something I “missed”. I’ve had the exact same experience with the girls in school doing things like smoking, getting jobs and boyfriends, and me just standing in the corner being like - did I miss something? Hope this makes sense. I don’t know. This was just such a powerful video. I feel less alone now. Thank you.
@azimpremji1514Agree speech therapy is very important and improved my speaking a ton but one year they left so now I slip up on some of my words and now I have an accent. When I play online games people always think I'm from another country and they always ask if I'm French or assume I'm French, I find it funny.
What Chris said about once she's out of high school she'll find people who embrace her awkwardness, that's exactly what happened to me. Even though I didn't get diagnosed til I was 24, it still fits.
She'll have crushes pestering her, night and day. She probably already does. When I was her age, I would have thought she was the cutest girl in school, and probably would have made friends with her immediately..
Same. People love talking to me now, which is a huge change from the rejection, fights and bullying that I received throughout all of elementary through high school.
I like the bubbly vibe I get from her and she is pretty which makes me think she will be fine. You aren't annoying, you are just different and trust me there are people out here in the real world(not high school) that appreciate that.
As a mum of daughters with ADHD/high functioning autism. Thank you for bringing awareness to the matter . Its a hidden disability and a lot of girls go undiagnosed.

I think they care, but they also want to help her develop the basic level of control and social awareness that helps her relate to others for her benefit. I love marvel super heroes, always have. But as an adult, I am aware that it would be confusing to just start spouting off random marvel facts at my job or during social events where other people have dozens of different interests that don't pertain to the current event we are attending. Everyone has interests, sure. But not every event is a time to talk about your interests. That's just normal life, and I am glad to hear they are helping her adjust to that so that she doesn't run into complications later in life when she meets new people who don't know her (who will be far less understanding in most cases)
Yeah it can be unfair and lonely sometimes. To just have your special interest hushed up. And then what if you never are allowed to talk about it? Why can’t we have more of a balance at least.?
I'm recently diagnosed Autistic/ADHD/Anxiety/PTSD at 32 and I feel like I needed to see this video. I see so many similarities between myself and Ellie. Although I'm incredibly relieved to hear of my diagnosis (after years of guessing), I've had moments of darkness and I've lost my enthusiasm. This gives me hope that I can get that fun, enthusiastic girl back and still be a rainbow.
Fight the good fight. Being aware is what a lot of people are afraid of, and many people dismiss a diagnose as a "label". But it actually helps to give a vocabulary to problems that people experience. That's why we have diagnoses. Not to label people, but to help people.
Almost the same here but CPTSD, also diagnosed at 32. It is a relief to see how girls now receive the diagnosis, and therefore the correct support, at an early age. I have met other women also diagnosed with autism and ADHD + complex trauma in their thirties and our life stories are similar. A good thing is that we are not alone, you are not alone. I empathize with you from a distance and encourage you to take off your masks to be your authentic and wonderful self. I live in Lima, Peru.
Shes actually so pretty and has a nice voice and nice humor. Feels like my friends little sister id love to be friends with her! She seems amazing and has my energy!
I came back to this to say how much I love this girl. Her and I are exactly the same in so many ways, she’s so sweet and she’s gonna be such a wonderful adult who makes the world a better place.
Another girl like me. ❤️ I describe autism very similarly. It’s like taking a test that you didn’t study for and you struggle to know the right answers while everyone else passes it with flying colors. Also “organized chaos” is so accurate.
What she said about just wanting to have the right answer really teared me up. One of humanity’s biggest problem is how we constantly say this is right and that’s wrong or IM right and YOURE wrong. It’s a terrible mindset. Thanks again Chris 😊
When she switched from talking about that PBS kids show to a fly that got stuck in paint I couldnt help but laugh. That is so relatable. Normally autistic people will be happy to ramble about an interest for a while but when you also have adhd, its very easy to get distracted and jump between special interests.
4:35 To anyone that wants to know what Autism is, she gives the best explanation I have ever heard. Autism is one of the most difficult conditions to define and explain and she nailed it.
It's funny!!! Deep depression an anxiety kinda feels the same way when making the simplest decision like changing lanes when driving or paying for groceries at the register.
Being autistic in a neurotypical world is like being a penguin trapped on land in an ostrich farm. All clumsy and overwhelmed while the ostrichs run around elegantly. Now switch the scene and put the ostrichs and penguins in the water.
It breaks my heart how focused she is on confirming to the world and “doing things right”. You don’t need to change a THING about yourself. When you grow up you can create a world that confirms to you, instead of you feeling like you need to conform to the world! You are special, you are unique, and you are a rare find. Don’t ever let anyone take that away from you ❤️❤️❤️
its always important to love and accept yourself but not changing yourself and trying to make the world conform to you is an optimistic but naive ideal. the world wont conform to you but its important to not erase everything that makes you who you are, dealing with autism is all about finding a middle ground
@Emularis I completely agree, and would like to add that it's always a balance of both. In this interview, it's barely noticable that she has a special condition, apart from some strange contradictory statements. But I assume it's because she's already worked so hard on trying to fit in. Also changing the world around you isn't simple if you aren't accepted in the world. It might get easier with time, idk. But I do hope she doesn't conform to the boring lifes of so many people and forgets about the bright and colorful spirit most people push away after school, because that's not something "adults" do.

Ellie is an amazing person! I also have autism/aspergers and anxiety and I can definitely see myself in her. I’m super talkative and I’m really awkward around people, there are so many things that she talked about that I relate to.
I was diagnosed this yeah when I was 36. I’m so freaking happy to see a girl like me who dgaf about what people think of her. She’s amazing. I wish I had a sibling like her or her brother
When I look at her, I see myself. I’ve been diagnosed with everything she has, and her personality matches so much with mine. I’d be friends with this person.
I'd like to thank this girl for starting my journey to get a diagnosis. My brother has much more severe autism and my family didn't pay attention to my peculiarities as they would've otherwise in part because I seemed fully functional in comparison. When I was diagnosed my family vehemently refused to accept the diagnosis, and that's what has happened in a way every time I tried to ask help for my peculiarities, but knowing I'm not alone and that Asperger's doesn't imply atrocious maladjustment to everyday life like I was led to believe really got me through. Once again thank you so much.
Your story is so similar to mine, and it stopped me in my tracks. I'm so proud of you internet stranger! My younger brother has very severe autism and because of that (and all my parents' limited attention going to him) my symptoms were just sort of brushed under the rug since I comparatively was "normal" to quote my mom. You're not alone, and I always love coming across other people who understand this struggle. Currently my parents and my therapist won't believe me since "I make eye contact and am not super quiet and having meltdowns constantly". It's ridiculous. But this gives me some dash of hope
Not sure how old you are but I've got Asperger's, my wife is ADHD, I'm 39, and right now my wife and I are playing Hyper Light Drifter together. So I want to assure you that there ARE people like you out there who understand you and will accept you as you are. When I was a teenager people thought I would never get married, never hold a job, never be successful in life, because my aspergers was just too severe.
I relate to Ellie so much. I also have autism and I feel the same way about neurotypicals. I love the way Ellie presents herself and I would love to be friends with her.
That advice you gave her about high school and feeling awkward was really sweet, it got me tearing here. I think its so important that people like Ellie exist cause they defy what we just take for granted, as a society. All the stuff that we believe we should or shouldn't do, the things we just accept the way it is and when someone ask "Why? Why this should be normal and that shouldn't?" we realize we never asked ourselves that and that we have no answer other than "I don't know man, it was already like this when i got here."
My son is autistic and my stepdaughter is (I personally feel undiagnosed Autistic) and it’s so nice to see a mom that loves her child for who they are, and also SO nice to see an autistic daughter who says she appreciates her moms help-because I always worry I’m pushing my son to be someone that he isn’t!! Always appreciate these videos and blatant honesty from people who want to teach others, and know that these are beautiful BEAUTIFUL people that deserve kindness, love, and inclusivity.
My husband has autism as well, and I love it about him. He is so goofy and different, I love how he thinks about things. We give each other different perspectives on life. This girl makes such similar silly jokes and brightens the day the same way my husband does! Would love to have this girl in my life, anyone who does is so lucky!
I love how Ellie is able to embrace her awkwardness and is not afraid to admit her true self to the world. I think it’s safe to say that we could all learn a thing or two about her. ❤
Right away, I saw a lot of myself in her. It's funny to hear her metaphor about not seeing the same file everyone else does, because I often describe my body as missing the blueprint on how its supposed to act.
As someone diagnosed at 22 it’s so good to finally know why I feel like this and where my difficulties come from. It affected my relationship with my fiancée and caused me some hard times at school growing up. Being an artist and working as a cook on the side, I can use my creativity in a less restrictive environment. I can be myself but also I can be told clearly what to do and what not to do. I love working with understanding people. I wish the best of luck to anyone with ADHD and I hope you find a job you are actually interested in because that’s crucial for you. Cooking and photography and cars are my hyperfixations so I work as a photographer and as a cook while I spend my money to work on our car. Being able to benefit from these interests makes work life very efficient for me and reduces the feeling of burning/boring out, that you are probably just as familiar with as I am

i find this girl fascinating, i was like that when i was 10-16 years old, and later on adhd meds after diagnosed. But later you get depressed and you stop being like that only for a brief time i can be like that and not happen often. Okay but I seriously feel like me and her are the same??! Everything she talks about (especially organized chaos, liking kids shows, feeling awkward, wishing to know what she’s doing, expressing herself with outfits and just over all being a glass-half-full person) is exactly how I feel all the time! It really meant a lot to find at least one person out there who thinks and acts just like me; I have ADD and severe anxiety (and while I’m not diagnosed with autism, a lot of my friends/close family do tell me I seem to be on that spectrum) so I definitely see where the things she talks about are coming from. I love how this channel shows the difference in how ASD affects people. Neurotypicals often assume that it’s presented in a certain way and stereotype autism, but it’s a spectrum because of how different people with autism are, especially in girls with masking which has lead to late diagnosis (myself) or entirely missed. Seeing how it varies is so educational and interesting, and it’s why I love this channels videos. I’ve also seen many people say she has Asperger’s instead, however this is no longer a diagnosis and it’s now seen as Autism Spectrum Disorder, just incase this was unknown! Have a good day! :)
She's got the best personality, I could hang out with her all day long and never get tired of her talking. I'm actually Anti-social, so it's hard for me to keep a conversation going I struggle with communicating with people like a normal person I usually ask questions more then actually talk about stuff. When it comes to cars I can go on, and on about engines and different modifications.
yea I can relate as well. In fact, thats why I chose shyguy from super mario as my main pfp and things like that. Because of how introverted and anti-social I am.

Hey, heads up - please don’t use the terms “high functioning” or “low functioning”! They’re outdated and offensive to many autistic people and imply that those with more (for lack of a better term) severe autism are somehow wrong or dysfunctional. Hope that makes sense!

From one autistic young woman to another: never change, Ellie. More people will appreciate you for your ability to be your truest self as you get older, and you’ll learn to read the room and pick up on social cues more. I learned that with age.

They don't see the side we hide from the NT world. Where we get tired, sad and burned out.
@@PhoenIXPhantasies Ouch. NT rational in the personality test? I think she is actually more interesting than most people but less well understood. What is so great about living your life as a cog (breeding, getting fat, and dying without understanding the world or anything; she is very creative but sadly, she doesn't have the support system to channel that creativity into something productive or meaningful besides art drawing which has no value.
But, many people are overlooking her flaws because she is a thin white girl who has been groomed well. The comments would be completely different if she was an obese black teenager in the hoods.

She seems 100 times more aware and intelligent than most people her age.
i have the same diagnosis as her and an IQ of 137. Thats something that happens often parallel with this diagnosis.
Amazing that you know ''most people'' and how they are and their age.
It would highly interest me where you have found your information proving this ridiculousness.

as a fellow autistic individual, i deeply relate to Ellie's experience, and it's great to see people like us represented accurately on a popular youtube channel :)
Remember these words and come back to say "Hi" one day
How do you know any of that? Are you her friend IRL, or are you just writing fan fiction about a person you don’t even know?
I completely agree. I was a male version of her. I drew a lot of parallels with the way she is and how I grew up.
I adapted but it takes time. You build confidence and skills over time. It’s not easy but everyone has their own struggle. She different but I don’t think she has a “learning disability” or autism. I hope she understands that although she has a different way of seeing the world it’s a gift not a hinderance.
She should have her own youtube channel, she is brilliant in front of the camera
I went for an aspergers assesment because of some sensory overload issues and my score was only 2 points below the amount needed for a diagnosis of asd, 24 when 26 is needed, but I have spent 40 years convincing the world that I am like everyone else I have got too good at it maybe. Also changing the world around you isn't simple if you aren't accepted in the world. It might get easier with time, idk.
Thank you! This is exactly why we did it! Love you all!!!🥰

As someone diagnosed at 22 it’s so good to finally know why I feel like this and where my difficulties come from. Ellie is awesome! She seems to be literal sunshine brightening everyone's day. Everyone needs an Ellie in their life. It must be heartbreaking to see her get upset. She is an absolute beautiful person inside and out. Theyre a lucky family.
I’m super happy that I found her story, and I hope to hear more about her one day to see how she’s doing :)) /gen
@AbdulRahman-lv5pjwhat is that? herb name?
@@johannyrivas9607 He probably means this stuff that is in brokkoli, sulphoraphan I think it was. People with autism seem to have a deficiency, but so far no one knows why.
This charming girl seems normal to me. Although her attention span is all over the place, I think that she can succeed in life if she continues to be herself. The only thing that I would recommend to her is to start a UA-cam channel or something so that she could contribute to society whilst supporting herself. God bless everyone.
PrepareYourChairs, although only 7 videos
She has one, I will talk to her and see if she wants to start back up! 😎
girls with autism are normal
@@MrSoso1050 well no
calling an autistic person ‘normal’ is not a compliment
My son is 16 and was just diagnosed and you have really helped me understand him better. You are a rock star and I want to say THANKS. I love this! Stay authentic!
How did he get diagnosed?
it’s okay ellie, me and my friends still watch kids shows too. you don’t ever have to stop if that’s what brings you joy.
I come back here every now and then, because I can relate to Ellie so much! She's so much like me (or am I like her?) that it almost feels strange. But it's so nice to know that I'm not alone!
She is honest and open, doesn't hold back on what she thinks, thats amazing
Same! I really stuggle talking but when it comes to cinema and movies i love talking and i can go on for hours.
yea I can relate as well. In fact, thats why I chose shyguy from super mario as my main pfp and things like that. Because of how introverted and anti-social I am.
You're full of sh*t lol. Trust me. Have a kid and then you'll learn.
@@lambdalambdalambdaa uhh who are you talking to?

Oh she’s such a dear. I love how she gets what she does wrong, yet she still brings it into a bright mood. I like her!
You’re exactly what this world needs!! So precious!!
I'm 29 years old and autistic. I have high functioning autism. I was only 2 years old when I was diagnosed. So, I've been dealing with autism for 27 years and I don't feel bad about it. I'm just being myself as I should. God bless you, Ellie. I wish the best for you.
Hey, heads up - please don’t use the terms “high functioning” or “low functioning”! They’re outdated and offensive to many autistic people and imply that those with more (for lack of a better term) severe autism are somehow wrong or dysfunctional. Hope that makes sense!
May I ask what stage you are? My son is 3 years old with stage 3 autism and it’s hard to believe he’ll ever talk soon.
Kudos to you my guy stay true to who you are
This girl would make an excellent youtuber. She could start talking about animes or even computer games (if she likes so). She would lighten a lot of her viewers day.
Watching this i think i realize that theres alot more autistic people in the world that dont realize it and have never been diagnosed. She just seems like a normal person to me with no disorders.
Honestly looking around I feel like it's about 3-5 percent of the population has a form of autism.
Wow, she's an incredible girl!!!! So wise and full of joy, I learnt so much listening to her words, we need more people full of positive energy like her! Keep going and don't let other's people ruin your amazing and charming personality!
I‘m 22 from Germany and I keep coming back to this video bc this girl brings me so much joy! She has such a wonderful personality and is so fun to listen to! This interview could be an hour long and I would listen to her the entire time. Girl, from The bottom of my heart I hope you‘re doing well! You‘re perfect just the way you are 💜
Managed to put a smile on my face with this one. Great personality 🙏
Wow! What a great video! It kinda made me cry, but in a good way. It's touching to see how people like her are finally starting to get positive attention like this. I grew up in the 70's before people were even trying to understand and accept people like her and like me.
This was the video that made me realise I am autistic and ADHD and then got professionally diagnosed. I’m exactly like Ellie! (Although I also struggle with PTSD). Thank you for having posted this, it literally changed my life
Really? That's neat with how things like that happen sometimes.
I'm the same aspergers syndrome ptsd anxiety adhd I thought that's all I had as a kid because I had to take medicine for adhd
Can I ask you how you got professionally diagnosed? Were you an adult when you got diagnosed?
@@millennial. You can absolutely get diagnosed as an adult, if you're thinking about it for yourself I suggest you try to get in touch with a therapist who specialises in autism spectrum disorder, adhd, etc. They are the ones who will be able to diagnose you properly ^^
@@millennial. I had just turned 18 so technically an adult but not really, I got diagnosed by my psychiatrist that I already had, I had a previous diagnosis of BPD that I got at the age of 13 (I don’t think they can diagnose a personality disorder that young) but my new psychiatrist didn’t really agree with it (and I also had some doubts) but then I mentioned it to him about autism and he asked me a bunch of questions and stuff for a long time and said “yes, you’re autistic level 1” and then redirected me to a neuropsychologist that tested me just to be sure and stuff. The ADHD came later with my full neuropsychological assessment. Idk if that helps, I live in Brazil btw
Honestly, she has the ability to explain and express her feelings properly to anyone. She's also a cheerful girl. I find her cute ❤
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 52 years old in December 2021.
All my life has been a blur.
Watching this has helped put pieces together from my childhood.
I completely understand.
Good Luck and Well Done.
December 2021 ?
I wish there were more people like her at my school, everybody is so concerned about stuff that doesn't matter. its a breath of fresh air to see someone who doesn't fall victim to that . ❤ From Australia
IT'S SO HILLARIOUS when she in a way makes fun of "normal" people, for example, when she said "okay, this was fun, we should talk again another time" the way she said okay was funny, it's amazing to see she enjoys herself and doesn't think she needs to be like other people, it shows and it's great!

Her mother seems to be trying to coach her to be what she deems as 'normal' which she already stated on the video. Hopefully the girl is not affected too much by that kind of negative energy.
@@sugercrash653 has anybody ever told you that you're annoying?
her fashion sense is awesome ! im in the process of possibly being diagnosed with autism and i relate to her so muchhhh. this video brings me comfort. thank you mr chris !
I wish u luck on your journey 🙏 ✨ ❤ remember you are not your diagnoses, its only a part of you. Live life to the fullest ❤
She has a point…What IF giraffes ruled the world instead of apes?!?!
Buildings would be a lot taller, and a lot more like tents I think.
@@joeh858 Not in the colloquial sense but biologically humans are classified under the family Hominid which is a classification of “great apes”.
I was thinking the same thing. It reminds me of Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series, especially book 4 "The Galaxy, and the Ground Within" that has a giraffe-like main character among others.
Pointless thing to think about. Will not help any problems out species is facing.
