In the Korean War four American Corpsman were marooned on land in December of 1950. My father was one of the Corpsman. Their ship, the Haven, had bugged out along with all the ships in the Bay. The North Koreans had overrun an Army Division. The four Americans left the base with a British detachment. During many battles, these Corpsman were woven into part of British battalions. The Battalions had bagpipers. Dad said Brits were a joy to be with. He said they were all so brave. Pipers playing on and on while the soldiers fought. The music gave strength to the troops. As the soldiers advanced, so did the bagpipers, playing on and on. Inspiring the troops onward. Amazing!!!
Like BILL MILLIN, personal bagpiper of Lord LOVAT FRAZER during the D.DAY. He followed and play for his master and friend with the 1first wave of assault, playing BLACK BEAR. Germans soldiers, seeing this crazy man playing in the rage of fights, thought he was mad and didn’t shot him. Highlanders prefer ignoring the fear. LOVAT himself said ” excuse us old chap, we are late ” to Major HOWARD, effectively he was late...of 2 minutes.
I absolutely LOVE the sound of the bagpipes! They can make me smile, and make me cry. This was truly a special video to watch here. Thank you so much! ❤
Don't the Scots look and sound magnificent!!!..I've loved them since I was a kid listening to my parents argyle and sutherland highlanders P&D LP...cost me at least 1 girlfriend...and a few neighbours in my life...even tried to play the pipes at one time(oh dear)..now I just admire our Scottish brothers and sisters over the border...loved the RAF tartan...very smart...bless 'em all!! ❤
It would really help if a Scottish person in the Scottish army told me which Scottish clan im descended from and how many relitives i have in the Scottish armed forces thank you from a true scottish loyalist ben hyper? ❤❤🏴🏴🏴
I absolutely love these bagpipe groups!!! But, due to OCD, I can't help to look for 'those' who are not in step!!! Makes me crazy!!!! But, still can't stop watching and loving them!!!!!
Listen pal, this is incredible. i have been searching for a video where the pipes and the horned bands are marching together for the better part of a year. if you have any more footage of them together please post
I found out several years ago that I have a wee drop of MacDonald of the Isles blood in me veins!!! That's why I have a love of the Scots and the war pipe!!! Scots forever!!!
My sister did a DNA test. We are Scandinavian, but we were quite surprised to learn that 34% of our DNA was Irish, Scottish and Welsh. That must be the reason why I have always loved bagpipe music. It stirs my soul. We assume this British/Irish link is through our American great-grandmother. Family lore has it that she was “English”. More likely Irish…
Thanks for the heritage. An American but my ancestor was with the Argyles at New Orleans in 1815. Saw the Battle Flag at Sterling -- I had a strange feeling.
Am going WAY out on the limb with this comment but I find it just wonderful to see a person of color in this group!!!! My only question is just why 'one'?
@@jockbarrie8535 Please explain why my question is dumb. I swear to god I one sentence replies with an explanation following that comment!!! Can you clarifify your comment?

A bit sad (2:12) to see a military bass drum with a logo on it - for most of my life our bands did NOT have drums with commercial markings on them... Even though the bands of other countries always or mostly did...
It’s the Archers company , it’s made up of a lot of ex soldiers and other stuff basically the official ceremonial bodyguard of the monarch when in Scotland , Royal Company of Archers , over 300 (1676)years old not that much younger than the Scots Guards funnily enough (1642)
@@RossKyle95 aye, that's the chaps you see in the very first part of the video behind 2Scots P&D . Later on I've also spotted British Legion marching behind the brass band and RAF pipe band in the last segment. British Legion is indeed the all arms veterans'association

Super, Szkocja jest Wielka❤
Am going WAY out on the limb with this comment but I find it just wonderful to see a person of color in this group!!!! My only question is just why 'one'?
Because the UK is a white majority country
There are many as we do not discriminate.....they are British same as us. If they are on "parade" it depends who is available at the time.
Dumb question.

Proud to be a Scott 😑🏴
Generally speaking, who are the marchers directly behind the musical units? I'm guessing veterans, their marching is very precise.
The soldiers of the scots guards x
