Great video as always! Always great to see the Scottish Regiments on parade! Pipe and drum bands are very VERY impressive AND my favorite! The drum major is the picture of confidence. The pipers blasting out that familiar twang warning, BEWARE....the Scotts are coming! The rattle tee tat precision of the snare drummers! The bass drummer in his leopard skin apron keeping perfect time! Last but certainly not least the dexterity that the tenner drummer displays with his sticks twirling and spinning in the air as they strike the drumhead........pure MAGIC! WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT , Andy, Annmarie's husband.
My Dad was a WWII Veteran from the USA and he was known to speak of the awesome sight and sound of the Scottish Warriors march to battle with the pipes leading them. Seeing this reminded me of that bit of me memory of me Dad. Much respect. Nothing quite like the pipes of Scotland.
As a former career Australian soldier of 37 years, and a former RMC Drill Sgt, I have nothing but respect for Scotland and the Scottish soldier. But mate I wish you all spoke English that us down under could understand. 😂😂😂😂😂 Just kidding. Great parade.❤
It brings back a lot of memories... I will never forget Edinburgh, a part of my soul has remained there. French but Scottish at heart! Scotland the brave,Scotland for ever ! ❤🏴❤
@@HowardRiach The Riach family name was found in the USA, the UK, Canada, and Scotland between 1841 and 1920. The most Riach families were found in and Scotland in 1841. Never heard the name Riach but then there's probably more Polish people here in Edinburgh than Gaelic speakers. Seems to be related to Rioch, and of course I've heard of Brucey boy, which has the same Gaelic etymology. Don't you just love it, however, when non Scots try to give you lessons on being Scottish. Edit: also nice job on railroading the topic to nonsense. I used to work at the Tattoo as a steward and never got to the point where the pipes didn't make my head tingle. My favourite is the Black Bear.
Same here. US born, but of Scottish heritage. I've been once, for 12 days. I bought my kilt from Hector Russell,... pictured in this video. Those bagpipes transcend time.
Had the pleasure of visiting my mother's home town of Dundee and other parts of Scotland with my parents in 1969 and regretted never having returned. Scotland and her people are marvelous. Enjoyed your video.
Great job guys from California. My wife and I loved Edinburgh. Wish we could have seen this in person. The troops were fantastic in every regard. The discipline, the timing, the uniforms, the instruments all set the highest of standards on the planet. Best wishes from southern California. 👍👍
Oh, I wish that I could go back and visit Scotland again, it was totally magical, but left me wanting more. This was beautiful, I love the pageantry and the music! I actually listen to bagpipe music in my earphones when going to sleep. Odd, I know.😂😂😂
Those pipes and drums echo throughout generations and throughout the world. They remind all who hear of a people who have such an outsized impact on the world. A people who have contributed so much to the modern world and have asked so little in return. The wee, proud, Scots, up on those northern rocks.
I always like the mile march with the crown as an American I find it to be awesome experience to see the lead soldiers in blue have excellent posture in march they match down to crease in yellow strip on pants perfect march thank you( company one takes the accolades for great posture in march even white belts line up perfect that called fine tuning tawesome
Great parade! And the many beautiful, presumably historic buildings with the pretty shops along the way. Also the buildings around them (church, for example) Oh, I'm getting homesick. Best wishes from Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany

My Scottish son would gladly trade nationalities with you . Even more so since discovering he’ has a high percentage of English DNA from his dad’s side of his genes. I’ve no English but my sister is married to an English man so there’s plenty intermarriage now between Scot’s & English people which wasn’t so high in the past with all the bad blood . I’m 83% Irish Scottish Welsh 11.4% Greek & South Italian 5.6 % Baltic . My parents are Scottish & Irish . I love being Scottish & wouldn’t have it any other way .
My my, they do put on a splendid show. Have to admit that my GGGrandfather came to America from Scotland, and I do feel something when I hear those darned Pipers play.
I've watched so many of these on UA-cam now.... and I'm telling you, the experience is missing about 80% of the impact you feel in your soul compared to being there in person. The bass drum thumping through your chest, and those lossless pipe harmonies shrilling in the middle of your head between your ears. It's a sensation you just can't get here on the Tube
There's some deep connection Canadians have to the pipes. I don't know what it is. But I do wish I could go back in time and marry a wee Scottish lassie so that my children could have a connection to the country. :)
Thank you Scotland; your country and traditions are beautiful. Thank you for all that your country has brought to the world, the industrial revolution and all the progress to other western countries and around the world. Your people also did a lot to develop Canada; your ancestors are our ancestors. Merry Christmas from Canada.

Either you love the sound, the drone of the pipes, the thump of the drums, or you hate it. I became enthralled with piper music as a little child.
