Everyone knows the Hollywood movie “Pretty Woman” (1990) and Roy Orbison´s song "Oh, Pretty Woman" (1965).
Its remake arranged by German 2piece PALAST is the very opposite of what you would expect. Singer Sascha Pace explains why:
"Whereas the subject of this movie classic is about a girl finding her way out of prostitution in a very romantic Hollywood way, I could not get a specific newspaper article out of my mind. That one was on human trafficking, and it stated that about 54% of the victims end up in sex slavery. In between 2012 and 2014, there were more than 60 000 victims detected in the EU alone, while the number of estimated victims goes up to 21 000 000! I remembered that movie and Julia Roberts’ big smile in it. A very soft painted picture of reality. So we painted another picture of the subject while using the same song, but in a deep dark minor key version. The lyrics become a totally different meaning in connection with this subject then. It displays terrible people using sexual exploitation for profit and the so called "customers" are mostly not aware of it. Prosecution is a big issue in here, too, since the crime is hard to detect. We´ve got a lot of problems in the world, for sure, but I believe this one does not receive the attention needed to esteem the respective victims. So this is why we chose to record this version of the song.”
As artists, we feel that it´s our duty to speak up against grievances in the world. Having said that, it was a no-brainer for us to team up with ora Kinderhilfe, a Germany based aid organization for children, and its cause for installing preventative support (amongst others) in Burundi, so the trafficking can be limited.

"....What part in the video gives you chills?..."
Hi, guys ))
Unpleasant sensations are caused by shots with flickering light on the top floor of the building. I write this text, and goosebumps run through my body. Also, the hands behind the door behind the girl at 0: 19 refer me to the Bill Stoneham painting "Hands resist him". And so, the topic is very useful and relevant. Regards and greetings from Russia. Success.
PS who played the main bandit. Very natural :)))
