no, there's a difference between making and covering a genre you don't know. If she made anything other than simple current pop, the quality would go down, that is if we don't include ghost writers as a part of the equation.

Again! It’s not that she can reproduce different vocal qualities but that she knows exactly the right choices for the genre. She adds so much breathy mix to the 90s diva, with every line ending with a soft little breathy hook. That’s all 90s divas, think early Mariah or Whitney - the main melody was clean, but every phrase had a little stank at the end of it. Just tiny little ad libs. Again, it’s musicianship, which is a brain thing more than the voice which is a physical gift (that is then trained to perfection.)
