  • Find your recipes here: adventuresineve... I'm doing cod again! And this time we are trying it a few ways to see how it work best in the #DeluxeAirFryer. Including #GlutenFree & Beer Battered! I've also included this delicious tartar recipe! And newsflash: I'm thinking I like cod... a lot ;)
    Air Fried Cod (with tartar sauce)
    Ingredients for Cod
    * 1 lb. cod, cut down the middle longways
    * Kosher salt & pepper
    * 1/2 cups of flour
    * 2 eggs, beaten
    * 2 cups panko bread crumbs (gluten free is great!)
    * 1 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
    * Spray oil
    Directions
    * Pat fish dry and season on both sides with salt and pepper.
    * Using 3 separate bowls put the flour in one, the egg in another, and the panko in the third.
    * Add Old Bay to the panko bowl and mix well.
    * Working one at a time, coat fish in flour, then in egg, and finally in panko, pressing on all sides to make sure it sticks.
    * Spray your air fryer tray liberally with spray oil and then place your fish on the tray (don’t get them too close to each other). Spray the tops of your code with spray oil if you want a crispier result)
    * Cook in your air fryer at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork. You need to flip it halfway through your cooking time.
    * Serve with lemon and tartar sauce.
    Ingredients for Tartar Sauce
    * 1 cup mayonnaise (not miracle whip)
    * 1 cup finely chopped dill pickles
    * 1 tsp dried dill or 1 Tbsp dill fresh
    * 1 tsp lemon juice
    * 1 tsp white sugar
    * ¼ tsp pepper
    Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk to combine.

    The reason your beer batter fish did not come out okay is because after you dip the fish in the beer batter, you have to once again dip it in flour!! 😊

    Are you sure you didn't have some beer before starting this? LOL.

    You can sub out the beer for seltzer water which is what most fish frying places use anyway.

    I've got to fill my peanut oil sprayer. I use peanut oil whenever I do fish including the air fryer. Olive oil is not a good bet if you want really Brown and crispy. I'm going to shut up now! :-)

    No! You hold it over the bowl and let all of the excess all of it drip off!

    I have used instant potatoes to bread fish. I put a little cooking oil into the flakes.
    I think with the beer battered fish , the coating was too thin, I'm going to try a wet batter but roll in flour first , wish me luck 🐟🐟🐟

      You have to dip the fish once again in flour after dipping it in the beer batter!! She didn't do that & that's why it didn't work. I have done it this way & it comes out crispy & great😊

    In Britain and good seafood places in America do not use egg in the batter ever. They add egg yolk food coloring the color of egg yolk or yellow if you are at home.

    Having been born and raised on the coast of Maine I have been making fish since I was 4 years old. :-) I can boil a lobster like nobody's business and I started that when I was 6 years old. In fact the night before my birthday one of my adopted grandchildren asked for lobster so I'm going to do lobster and fish because I know her mother won't go near a lobster she won't eat shrimp she only eats African food. Her 6-year-old help me make bacon yesterday and he and I ate the whole pound and a half she wouldn't taste it. She said I like African food I said yeah and you might like some American food too because her favorite thing is chicken nuggets and french fries and a coke from McDonald's and that's junk! I told her if I told you what was in them chicken nuggets you wouldn't be so happy eating them! Make sure you bring some the night before my birthday because I'm not going to make chicken nuggets just for you!

    I have a gallon container of Louisiana fish fry and I have cod loins in the freezer. It is time for me to now make fish! I love fish! Everyone said don't batter it well I've seen people batter it and shake off all the excess and use a parchment paper and they are fine!

  • @elizabethshaw734
    @elizabethshaw734 3 роки тому

    The batter works if you let the excess drip off nobody dips it and and fries it even. You always love the batter drain off you want a light coating. I can tell you're not from a seafood state.

    The way to eat fish with tartar sauce is to run your fork through the tartar sauce and then pick up your bite of fish. Old Bay can be quite spicy hot. I can't use much if any of it with my geographic tongue.

    Unless someone has celiac disease it is contraindicated to eat gluten-free as it may indeed cause issues. It is not a healthier way to eat for people without celiac disease. Elizabeth MD

    Fresh tuna. We buy fish right off the boat, have it filleted and freeze it until we use it. Thaw, marinate in teriyaki sauce overnight, and throw it on the grill. Yum!
