Just got my first win today in the vee thanks to you!!!
Awesome matey. Well done.
@@Sambo_iRacingthanks! I got out of rookies with the vee now I’m trying the Mazda. I don’t know if it’s the car or this track but I feel like I’m driving on ice.
@@networkguy3152 Rest assured, it's not your fault. The mx5 cup is notorious for not being a very faithful car to reality in iracing (unlike the assetto corsa one). When the tires are cold, it’s an abomination, and not much better when they're warm. When the car is leaning, pay close attention to the brake input, and when it's on the line (wheel on the vibrator or on the edge of the ground) pay close attention to the throttle. Once cornered, the car is absolutely unstoppable (as hard to catch as a gt3 😹 ). Takes some getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it (a few hours) you'll start to appreciate it, basically it's a good apprenticeship for the upper classes
Got a 59.7 on my first hour race session, thank you for the guide i’m going to try the sub 59 ahah
Love your guides man! Thanks for your help
No problem bud
Def going to give this a try, been running a .59.9 when I'm on point but seeing this I can see where I'm messing up, I'm not taking turn 2-3 in enough so I can't exit flat and the last turn I'm braking late and to much causing the car to unsettle to much for the elevation change
good lap, I like how you get the car pointed in under breaking
What set up do you run?
It’s the fixed setup mate as the series is fixed. Load into a test session directly from the series schedule and you’ll have the exact same setup and conditions.
Thanks bud
Hey man, thanks for the guide. Helpful as usual! I have noticed that the telemetry does not seem to follow your inputs when you are doing the breakdown lap, would love to see this as it would help to visualise the braking time and flow better if it was working.
The telemetry pull through (graph) on Racelabs only works in real time (ie the graph stops working when I pause and slow it down). Watch the hot lap or race line lap for time and flow matey.
ive been playing for a couple of days and for the french lap i got a 34.670 i have no idea how you even got a second and a half on that your absolute crazy
Haha cheers mate
@@Sambo_iRacing fuck me ive put like 13 hours on this race and i only got a 1.00.080
Nice lap, the MX5 has a lot of oversteer on entry I found, made me spin a couple times lol. Also I'm sort of new to iracing but how do you get that telemetry on the screen? Is it a SimHub thing or something else? Thanks!
Racelabs matey. There’s a link in the video description.
@@Sambo_iRacing Oh damn, i completely missed that. Cheers
General question here. Should I be using a clutch for up/downshifting? I have a clutch pedal but it is currently not on my rig and I plan on getting an H pattern shifter soon but Im confused as to when it is needed. Take the Vee and Mazda rookie cars as an example. I originally thought that my paddle clutches on my wheel would really only be needed for launches but now after lots of youtube im not so sure. After lots of searching I found that the Mazda and Vee have Syncromesh H-Pattern gearboxes and that I should be shifting them like a normal manual car but I have been winning races just blasting through the gears with no clutch and no lift and I am starting to wonder if that is ultimately costing me time. I am very new to sim racing so I want to start off on the right foot and not have to re invent the wheel down the road when the competition gets stiffer.
The MX5 is sequential so you don’t need a clutch, I just use my paddle shifters.
The Vee isn’t sequential so you do need a clutch (I don’t use a foot clutch personally as assigning a button clutch or better yet, having dual clutch paddles) and keeping it floored is much faster. You’re right that you don’t have to lift to change up a gear though.
