Another method of lighting dark scenes so you can see the action without losing the ambience of the darkness.
NOTE: This is a big file with lots of primitives and objects. It will take some time to load so be patient. Trying using Quick Mode to load if needed. 158 Meg download

Thanks for posting this. Working on a scene that calls for similar lighting. Very helpful.

Hey WarLord720. thanks for this tut. I have a question about lighting a concert arena. Can I use GI emissive lighting for a cone prop to mimic a spotlight with the light ray from the spotlight? also can you make a small tutorial on how to do that? Or can I email you so we can talk more about it?
    Thanks.

Thanks Warlord. I noticed that you had the ends of the house open at the end when you zoomed out, does this affect the indirect global illumination part of the GI setup making it slightly less accurate? I'm curious because i understand the advantage of only building the the parts of set that need to be visible but have the impression that to get the most accurate results with the GI features you'd would need to have those back walls present even if they are hidden while you're working on your set.

You are correct. It depends on what you are wanting... a certain look or a certain accuracy within the ability of the lighting system to do so. Thanks for watching!!!

Off topic a lil but I find that importing a daz3d character has problems when lighting with a gi light panel. I find it creates a weird outline on there head

Might be a high specularity or glare setting. Just a wild guess there.
