I love my Flip 4 and will not go back to brick phones. The battery lasted me throughout the day, and it's so smooth and convenient. Also I can call and answer using outer screen and also can watch youtube on it using goodlock
I love the look of the flip, but I’m going to wait until the battery life gets better. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max rn, I’ll probably be looking for a new phone in ~4-5 years.
@@user-sf9gs2pg1b Iphone 14prm is 60grams heavier than Flip 4. with 60gram, I can get a 3000mah battery and it will beat iphone 14pm so I will keep my Flip 4
No problems with my Z Flip 4 Bluetooth connection, file transfers to computers or other issues you mentioned. The upgrades from the Flip 3 include longer battery, faster charging, improved camera, better performance and better durability. Seems like meaningful upgrades to me.
Lol I wouldn't say better durability I have been through two flips 4. One I simply opened it and the hinge popped off track and the second one it was laying on my stomach ans vibrated of my stomach onto the carpet and hinge broke #2. I never had a problem with the flip 3 the year I had it other then the battery
@@chasewoolfolk1252 reading about these issues is one thing. the other is - what is the real innovation for these foldables - if i am in the market for a small phone, i would rather just buy a small phone. the only reason for these phones would be in my opinion to have a benefit of protecting the screen if folded, which is mostly offset by it being more prone to breaking and getting particles into the hinge. another nice thing is to be able to point the camera like with a tripod, but this is something that most people probably use once a month at max. for tablets i think this might be more interesting, but they are big anyways, so also not that big of a thing if you can fold them. right now i do not think that this folding stuff is pushing the tech in the right direction, i would rather see companies innovate towards better battery life, having much better smartbands with great battery life that lasts months instead of weeks and innovating in power saving technologies and user interface design which is accessible for young and old instead of feature bloat and hard to understand structure of menus. with samsung feature bloat is a problem, there is a myriad of different apps they install for you that can not even be updated within the app store for example.
Oh i recently switched my 13 pro max to flip4. Been using it for a month and love it. Gives me a break from my apple ecosystem… which I am still using on my iPad & macbook for my work.😊
@@CashCollecta i don't think you understand man, it's flip whole point, just regular phone that can be folded, that's it, you can easily put it in your pocket, that's the whole point
Just to give you a heads up, what you're looking for can be found under developer options so you're going to go. You're going to go to about phone. You're going to going to go to the build number tap at seven times. It'll say you were a developer. You're going to go to where it shows you to your system update, etc. Developer options will be there. Turn it on. Go to media you'll see me, the Trent and you'll see the transfer. You'll tap it and you'll definitely choose media or P2 transfer. Once you do that, it remains on
Love my flip 4... I think it's so good otherwise, that these issues are non issues for me... Yes that dust thing does annoy me but that's manageable... I think flip is a necessity today, with phones becoming so huge for content viewing... I don't think I'll want a slab now after getting the flip...
Folding phones are such a gamble though. I work at a phone repair shop and see a lot of issues pertaining to the main screen(bubbling is pretty common), I’d recommend getting insurance if you plan on getting one. The inner screen replacement is about $350-$400 at my store for the flip 4
Maybe thats the protector. I had mine replace for free because still in warranty. Screen protector will last for 6 months then i will creat lines overtime.
I love the Flip 4, but we talking about problems today. My biggest problem with this phone is the aspect ratio. It either cuts off content, or it doesn't fill the whole screen up with content. It's upside is that it's great for social media. You can full screen UA-cam or Twitch and there is still enough room on the screen to read the Live chat feed. My comment kinda doesn't make sense, but it does. Content with video and a chat feed work better than if just a video was playing, if that makes sense.
you're right the content is cropped quite a bit with black bars. I guess you'd need to give something up to have the narrow and long display but imo... i prefer long displays due to my daily usage! It'll really be personal preference!!
@@darkwebgirl my work app is hard to clock out on, some video games like subway surfer for example cut out the text on the edges until it gets updated. Fantasy football apps get squished.
I had my Flip for maybe a week and a half. I absolutely loved it and had no issues. Today I was walking and the phone (was closed) slid out of my hand and landed right on concrete on the hinge. Heard a crunch and my heart sank. The phone wouldnt open beyond 45 degrees and the hinge was completely broken. I went to my local Source and was able to exchange it for an S22. I'm extremely disheartened that the phone broke so easily despite Samsung really waving the flag about this new hinge design. I'll definitely buy another Flip in the future when Samsung improves durability
The biggest change between the Flip 3 and Flip 4 was documented on Jerry Rig Everythings video on both devices. Samsung added protection to opening the Flip 4 with a locking hinge that stops the device from being essentially snapped in half from the back. So all of those people who throw their Flip 3 screens open like that are rolling the dice on shattering their screen in the process. The Flip 4 no longer has that issue. The Flip 4 being more durable is why I spent $400 (got a 256GB Flip 4 on Offerup) on a 4 instead of spending $200 on a Flip 3.
You can even bend your phone and take videos one handed in landscape like a camcorder with the case. Downside is nfc and wireless charging is a hit or miss with it.
There are pros and cons to every phone. If companies made perfect phones that would not draw any conplaints, they would be out of business. I just got the flip and my reason was for compactness and weight. My old phone was bulky and would fall out of my pocket when trying to grab it. Also, i dint have large hands so my hand would get fatigued holding a bigger phone for a lenthy amount of time. The flip 4, though not perfect, meets my needs. Thanks for your review!
Loved my flip 4, for about 7 months until the screen stopped working. Despite never falling and no damage (only scratches to the sides of the device due to sand) to the screen/body, Samsung refused to honor the warranty and asked me half of the price I paid for the device to repair it. This was my first Samsung, I had fell in love with the device but the decision on my warranty made me never want to buy Samsung again. I have talk to many people with the same screen issue though 😢
My screen had some dead pixels show up randomly today. Of course it was one year, one week, and one day since I bought it, so I just missed the warranty coverage. Should have gotten insurance. 🙁
I have no problem with excessive battery drain overnight. Also no problem with Bluetooth range. No problem with media transfer from my Flip 4 to my ThinkPad. Guess each user differs.
I had the flip 3. Bought the iPhone 13 PM because of the battery. Hopefully the Flip 5 takes that to a higher level than the 4 along with a bigger cover screen (enough to use and navigate Google maps) and a better aspect ratio (21:9 would be nice). With those changes I would definitely switch back.
@@笨蛋学跳舞 you guys dont get the point if this phone... why bigger cover screen? best idea we make similar size screens on both sides huh?? an all screen flip phone. is this really what y'all want or what? cover screen is big enough to navigate and shit. battery is ok and i have the flip 3. use ur brain, dont be a fool, thank you
I feel like if Samsung wanted to upgrade the Flip 5, they should make it wider. It's already a pretty long and thin phone but if they made the screen wider instead of longer, we would get more screen (possibly a better aspect ratio like you mentioned) and better battery life since they would be able to pack more battery in the same device.
What a revelation I have never bought a large phone. My previous phone was a google pixel 5. I have used a flip 4 for about a month. I Now have a large phone in a small package. Battery life is very good. I use the light processor mode. The screen is fantastic (netflix fills the screen as far as aspect ratio you change it to much and you may hate holding the phone.). I upgrade my phone every couple of years at this point for my last couple of phones I can't tell the difference in screens and processor speeds are becoming less important. Folks my $3000 dollar TV does not look any better then my $1000 dollar phone. A battery that easily makes it through a day without recharging you will never need to upgrade a phone until it dies.
Currently using the Zflip 3, will upgrade soon to the flip 4, absolutely love this phone, only thing I had to do is change the screen protector, no other issues, good job Samsung!
First of all, am I the only one that heard 6:28 “gets the booty more clear that way”??? 😂😂 The most unexpected and realest thing i’ve heard in a while! Listen don’t listen to the noise. i’ve been diggin your videos man. i like how you go with the flow in your videos, seriously. if people want that cookie cutter “here’s 5 specific things” that 100 other people have videos of then they can go that way. but the way your natural and honest, love it. keep it up. i just subscribed, i’m all in!
My best battery advice is to make a custom bixby routine If the phone is folded enter power saver mode If the phone unfolded exit power saver mode I'm sure this'll be helpful on the z flip 5 when it launches too
I've never had issues with bluetooth, even going through multiple walls at the same (or even further than free throw line). As for the Samsung white case, I actually really like it. I guess it's a case for those who always use the strap as a pop socket replacement. Using the strap gets rid of that extra slack when the case is fully open.
My data transfers to this phone work really well. I used smart switch to transfer a whole album from my S21 FE to the z flip 4 and the pictures transferred very quickly and smoothly.
I have a MAJOR PROBLEM, and I'm not alone apparently, judging from the half dozen articles, referring to it. In the 2 half months since its release. I'm talking about the hinge. which can become misaligned even with a case on , from a small 2 foot drop or less, to caring it around in your pocket and leaning on it or sitting on it in your back pocket. and once It's out of alignment, the touch screen will start getting dead spots. and the screen may start to pull away or bubble up. And of course, the hinge stops opening all the way. I didn't drop mine, have only had it for 2 weeks(and had a case on it from day one). and my hinge started sticking , and got worse over the next few days. As i described earlier, I called Samsung Customer Service, but they didnt seem surprised by my issue, and they are taking care of it, through their warranty. Well we will see , I got a Ticket number and an appoint to take it in to a Samsung Service provider. Who is supposed to fix the problem the same day. I'll tell you how it turns out.
So, how did it turn out? 😅 Mine has the same issue - it never fell but started bubbling at the right side of the hinge under a black dot. There is no damage on the phone itself. (I never really buy expensive shit, so it's Murphy's law I guess.) Your comment gives me hope they will actually replace it under warrantee, so ty for that. Am hoping your issues were solved.
Samsung always had that problem of standby battery drain, I remember that from galaxy s2 plus. Install cpu-Z and look into "deep-sleep" percentage. If it's zero or too low, you gotta search for the problem causing it. In old phones the "media storage" process just went crazy and you couldn't do anything about it, but in new ssung phones it's very possible you could solve it
I have a used Flip 4 I purchased on Amazon. I haven't turned it on yet. I just keep recharging it. The loss from 100% within 48 hrs is now getting worse. It loses its charge faster; and can go down as low as 89%. I'm even wondering if I should keep it/activate it. I'm assuming that they re-set the fone before selling it...
Screen is very hit and miss! So many examples of breaking through the middle! SAMSUNG will not repair it PERIOD! They know the reliability is poor and clearly engineering fault!
The biggest problem is actually how fragile the hinge is. Just after a week of ownership, it's in fire warranty repairs because the phone wouldn't open past 90°.
I love the flip 4. When you factor in using a 3rd party app like cover screen, it opens up the front screen's usability. However, 3 weeks into owning it, I dropped it on the ground. It landed on the rug, and it broke the hinge. I was pissed. I saw videos about this issue with the phone..but I didn't think it would happen to me if I had a case. Not the case at all..no pun intended. If you get this phone, get a case that offers full hinge protection.
I have no issues whatsoever even after 3 weeks of use.. I am happy. It's a flagship and u need to handle it carefully, this goes with other flagships as well.
@@liamcollinson5695 it's glass that is ultra thin. Thinner than a fingernail so it can fold. Which is why they install the screen protector for added thickness and durability. despite that I just don't understand the people afraid of the durability. Take care of your phone and it'll be fine. You paid good money so don't throw it away. I've dropped phones and broken them when I wasn't careful but I've never had a phone just break from taking care of it.
I have my flip 4 now for over 3 weeks and it's the best phone I ever had samsung have pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this phone the battery lasts just as long as any phone I have had ....this guy is the problem I don't have any problems at all
I hope on the flip 5 they just take out the front camera and create a full screen to body ratio, and then emphasize the back cameras and cover screen to do selfies, and of course make it dustproof and extra durable.
Watching this on my week-old Flip 4 and my Bluetooth works well and my file transfer went smooth. Might be because I have a newer one than when this video got released. Standby time is wildly unpredictable.
I'm not like a flip Stan or anything but I love my flip4... and with that said I have not noticed any of the drawbacks you've mentioned... I think all in all my biggest concern with this phone is the inherent lack of durability when it comes to the inner screen but as long as your not a dipshit with it... all good
Today my husband's Flip 4 locked up. He can only open it halfway. No damage, just plugged it in last night, went to bed, and got up to it this way. Another issue he has had in the four months he has owned it is dust/dirt/debris etc in the power plug port. He plugged in it in only to get a message that no power cord is recognized. A can of air remedied that. He DOES keep this in his pocket, who knows what lives in there. I think Samsung needs to add an attached cover so that you can cover the hole when not plugged in. I was searching fo the stuck issue in here and came across this review. Thank you
@@publicpost3166 have Samsung skipped years with the fold/flip series? If not it's August again, no? Especially since the fold/flip series has replaced the note series.
You will see problems if you choose to see them. A phone like this requires SAMSUNG CARE. Anyone not getting Samsung care is just taking risks. Take your pics, it’s a cute phone and anything can be risky even an I phone. My husband dropped his Motorola on the concrete and it cracked. There’s always a risk with everything
Lol love Flossy and I love my flip 4 So far I don’t have any problems with it. I traded in my S20 and have zero regrets. I’m very careful with my phone. I never use to flip my phone when I use to use one a very long time ago lol so I won’t do it now. I’ll be too nervous it will flip out of my hands. As for color you could custom the color before you purchase. I wish I did it because everyone has the purple color. Cover screen.. I’m in love with it. I wish Samsung will let you use edge lighting on the cover screen and allow you to text so you don’t have to open the phone.
I have had my flip 4 since it was released. I've had ZERO issues with it and the quality is top notch. I won't go back to the candy bars unless the new S23 Ultra is going to be the beast I hope it will be.
@Kast403 4 months no issue for me, is how u use it.. if you are phone addicted and social addicted you have a problem not your phone cause you stress it. Just sayin
Ayoooooo that Flossy Carter flip reference! LOL!!!! Well done on the vid! I'm going to stick with my Flip 3 for one more year, after watching a few of these reviews.
I'm not a flip owner but my fold 4 is pretty amazing, i had a Note 20 Ultra and when it broke I gave iPhone 13 Pro Max a try, and dont get me wrong, it's a beast of a Phone but when i tried the Fold 4, i fell in love and dont feel i can go back to non-foldable phones.
The biggest problem with the Flip 3, is that you had to send it to Samsung every 6 months for a new screen protector. I would instantly switch to the Flip 4 but my honest oppinion is that these phones are not complete. So...I'll buy a Flip when it has the durability of all other brick phones.
I like your review, my friend. Good look at the negatives while not making it a negative review. I was curious, in regard to the battery standby life, if it would possibly make a difference in changing out the battery settings to become more adaptive in order to eliminate some of the burn when not in use.
Also iv got the flip 4 so very happy with it. I don't care about the differences.the phone is perfect for me. It's got so many different things on the phone it's so impressive in eyes I just love it
My flip 4 became totally unusable😢. The black screen of death! Do not misunderstand, loved the Flip 4 when it was working. BTB, the case used is VRS, this case is dust free.
I love my Flip 3, but after just 5 months I have already sent it to Samsung to get the film replaced. The screen cover has a huge filthy crack and air bubbles after just 5 months. Two weeks using my son's old iPhone 7, what a bummer.
only main issue now after a near 8 months of use (contract ee) i have slight damage in the middle that has slight damp inside middle part of the phone - the cost for the repair £450 not due an upgrade for another year 4 months or pay upfront £950
This is my 1st android ever! I have the whole apple ecosytem. Definitely taking some adjustment and I'm upset about my apple watch not pairing but damnnnn I love this phone 😍
The strap case is probably one of the best cases for the phone i wish they came in more colors and had a kickstand. Not a big fan the ring cases. You are supposed to put your finger(s) under the strap no need for the pinky perch. Also the phone is easy to flip open. I agree with the Bluetooth issue only i notice it with the gwatch 5.
Is the flip 4 screen strong enough? I heard that the screen on flip 3 breaks in middle and we need to change the screen protector time to time as it gets broken.
My issues with the Flip 4 (from greatest to least) 1.) The screen bubbles in the center. This is infuriating, to have paid $1,100 for a device that is going to have a defective screen(and yes, Verizon does consider it a defect, as they've sent me a replacement every time it's happened) 2.) On my first replacement, the screen does not shut all the way. I'm assuming they sent me a refurbished one. 3,) Phone does not support screen share via cable. You cannot stream your phone to a TV using a cord, and can only do so wirelessly. The reason some people prefer using a cord is because it removes the delay. With wireless screensharing, you get a delay so you cannot stream games to a screen. I know Fossil complained about battery life and other minor stuff, but I feel like those aren't even bad things. Sure, the phone's battery might not be *as good* as some, but to me, things like defects and total lack of features are far worse than having slightly under performing some other phones.
i appreciate having a video talking about its faults! im changing my phone for the first time in 6 years (oh oneplus 5 how well youve served me) and looking for another one thatll last me this long so hearing about the issues with it and not just the new and shiny things on this phone is really nice! helps me actually decide if it's worth it. tbh wish more reviewers would take this approach!
So are you considering flip z? I'm like you as well... Planning to change my 7 years samsung phone. Planning to stay loyal to android, but not sure what to buy yet.
@@naniieww yeah, i actually got the z flip!! its been good to me so far ive had it for about a month n the only issue for me is not being able to switch between phone accounts but other than that i love it
My Flip 3's screen broke (a white hole in crease where the backlight was constantly on) after 5 months. Also there was a nasty scratch right in the crease that wasn't from my fingernails. They need to make these phones more durable. Samsung's customer service (in Benelux) was awful, they offered a replacement phone that would have arrived in about a month. I told them I can pick up a replacement and they can refund, they said no. In the end they gave me a refund. I'm now on the NeverSamsung team and I'll only get compact-ish phones like the Zenfone 9.
There is a huge hinge problem. I just took my flip 4 to the repair shop due to my hinge wouldn't allow me to open all the way. The tech said this is a common issue with the flip 4. The hinge cut into the ink and had black ink in the middle of the screen. It's fixed now but beware.
When plugged into a computer, treat it just like any other USB device. No special software needed. Locate he files on the phone (very easy to do), copy, paste into your computer. Done. Fast. That is how I transferred 100GB of pics and music from the micro SD card in my old phone into my z flip.
I open my phone with 1 hand..i just use my neck or cheeks and it'll open while holding it one hand.. Hahahaha The screen is fine, just dont forget to always close it to protect the screen. Bluetooth i had no issues with as well :)
i found out about that crease its the screen protector that is lifting up you can take it off and it wont damage the phone but if you do you need to be carefull because samsung made the screen protextor to feel like the screen behind it if you take it off you will have the same feeling
how do you fix when only the top part of the phone is frozen? I tried to restart the phone but it still not working. It has a light on the right side of the phone
Set bixby to go to battery saving when not plugged in overnight and turrn of mode in the am, automatically. Samsung as transfer to windows but wires should be fastest, but also yeah you have a Mac. My biggest issue is the lack of a telephoto lens. That would be an outside upgrade.
im sorry but some of these problems are nonsense. I have the Z Flip 4 since launch, the stand by time is a non issue for me. In fact this was just last night when I disconnected it at 95 percent at 1 am and woke up at 7 and it had lost only 2 percent power. This isn't even a one time deal, it's happen before constantly. I also have the case with the strap.. All you gotta do is remove the strap LOL The Bluetooth is something else as well. I actually have an LG Tone headphones, I work in a warehouse with concrete walls and I can literally walk 50 feet with about 3 walls of concrete between us before starting to lose signal.
I typically have my phone fully charged and leave it next to my bed when I sleep. My current phone, if I don't play with it before falling asleep will fall down a few percentage by the time I wake up 8 hours later
The best part about all these cons? When the Samsung Flip 5 comes out that remedies these issues, they're going to give this phone a trade in value of like $900 and its "only" going to cost like $100 bucks. Just drink a few less starbucks that month lol
The thumbnail made me think it had hinge issues breaking in 1 month of use... Was that really necessary tho? It's a great video and I enjoyed watching it anyway 👌🏻
Media transfer works fine for me, sounds like user error bro. Transferring from a S7 -> Fold4 Using an xbox controller usb c cable and Razer micro usb cable meant for my mouse. Your other points are valid though not a big deal.
I love my new zflip 4 mine stays charged for sooo long lasted 3 hours on 1% today and was watching a video the whole time, i also havent had to charge it in 3 days and i use it A LOT for work and everything else lol
Yes, Samsung saved the Flip4 by using a non-Samsung Fab phone and with the 15% bigger battery. Samsung’s poor battery optimisation is therefore hidden behind these two improvements, but it remains the Achilles Heel. It is there on the S22U, but not on the S22, so no idea what Samsung is doing wrong, but they need to sort it. Now they have killed their own chips we have fixed one of the two main issues, next battery drain. The Flip4 to me is solid, if flip phones are your thing. The price remains too much, but that is easily solved, as they lose value like nothing ever before. I picked a new one up for 40% off (£620). At that price, I think is where this spec should sit, it is fair. But £1000 is bad value and just for hardcore Samsung fans paying Samsung for fun. I see Huawei will be releasing a P50 Pocket Light for around $720, so they are not ripping their customers off. Samsung should maybe use a cheaper chip rather than throttling the life out of an expensive SD8+G1 to help get that price down. I can see a $600 Flip selling really well, and let us be honest, anyone buying the current Flip are obviously not looking for great specs, as they have the wrong device if they are!😂
There is good deal for z flip 4 in UK now. £999 -20% for any Samsung products over £199 so makes it £799, then Samsung is paying £250 for any smartphone in any condition so makes it £549 and they adding Samsung Buds 2 Pro worth £200 and 12 months of Disney+ worth £80 so phone after deduction all extras cost about £270 so pretty same like cheapest phones 😉😉😉
Let me tell you my most annoying issue with my Z Flip 4. When i am taking selfie with the main camera, the cover screen is horizontal and it takes vertical photos. When the cover screen is vertical, it takes horizontal photos. Why? Do you have any solution for this?
My flip 3 is under repair... when I flip open the screen, it does not wake the screen. Waiting for 2 mins the screen comes back on. Becos I was overseas, I used the phone without closing it. The other problem is the factory screen protector did not last a year.
I have no problem with the Bluetooth on my flip 4. I have it two weeks now and the battery gets better. The camera is super. I like you can not wip it open.
I bought zflip 3 last Novermer. in warranty time , it’s screen cracked from near the hinges, I tried to claim warranty for it, Samsung refused and I had to pay $250 to Replace its screen with lead time of 1.5 months. I suggest , don’t believe in 200000 cycles test that Samsung shows, go for other flag phones. As per Samsung, Screen is not covered in warranty. Keep $250 to 300 replacement cost in less than 12 months. Risk is very high
I'm not so sure about the standby time. Last night I went to bed at 85%, didn't charge and this morning after 7 hours of sleep, I saw 80% on my phone still. Probably it's related to the learning period when you first got your phone? I don't know, just guessing. So far I've been really happy with my phone, switching from iPhone 12 Pro Max to Flip 4 I have no regret.
New subscriber !! Lol I bought the zflip3 when it came out but i got a refund a day later. I loved the idea but I felt scared like I was going to break it after all the reviews 😂 so I ended up with the s22plus but I definitely will try the zflip again in the next year or two once it's tweaked more 🥳 also you're cute 🥰
I ran into this problem today. Last night I forgot to charge my Flip 4. It was 0% this morning. I charged it up to 85% but it doesn't come on. I tried the front screen. manini screen and the side button but nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
I don't have issues in tranferring files to my computer, I have Galaxy A52 a MIDRANGE SAMSUNG phone and been using different USB type C cables. I really don't think it's that an issue, maybe you need to check your settings.
FYI The Flip4 has only USB-C 2.0 so much slower than the S22U USB-C 3.0. That is why it does not have DeX. Part of the cuts to squeeze more margins out of the Flip.
I love my Flip 4 and will not go back to brick phones. The battery lasted me throughout the day, and it's so smooth and convenient. Also I can call and answer using outer screen and also can watch youtube on it using goodlock

@@chasewoolfolk1252 reading about these issues is one thing. the other is - what is the real innovation for these foldables - if i am in the market for a small phone, i would rather just buy a small phone. the only reason for these phones would be in my opinion to have a benefit of protecting the screen if folded, which is mostly offset by it being more prone to breaking and getting particles into the hinge.
another nice thing is to be able to point the camera like with a tripod, but this is something that most people probably use once a month at max. for tablets i think this might be more interesting, but they are big anyways, so also not that big of a thing if you can fold them.
right now i do not think that this folding stuff is pushing the tech in the right direction, i would rather see companies innovate towards better battery life, having much better smartbands with great battery life that lasts months instead of weeks and innovating in power saving technologies and user interface design which is accessible for young and old instead of feature bloat and hard to understand structure of menus. with samsung feature bloat is a problem, there is a myriad of different apps they install for you that can not even be updated within the app store for example.

yes, bixby routine is so under-utilized among samsung users
Haha thats what i hear once you take on and enjoy the flip you cant go back 😅
@@ChilledFossilofficial yea it's true. I love mine.
How do you clean yours? Can you go to the Samsung store or get one of those air cans?
4 months later i bet its broken already if you are a very active person
@@amandaburleson2035 I sold it 3 months back for iPhone 14… Well the camera wasn’t doing it for me… Shutter speed would make pics blurry
Folding phones are such a gamble though. I work at a phone repair shop and see a lot of issues pertaining to the main screen(bubbling is pretty common), I’d recommend getting insurance if you plan on getting one. The inner screen replacement is about $350-$400 at my store for the flip 4
Do samsung not warranty the screen at all?
Maybe thats the protector. I had mine replace for free because still in warranty. Screen protector will last for 6 months then i will creat lines overtime.
Good talk! Thanks you for letting us know some of common issues.
The place i got my phone made it very clear getting the 15$ a month insurance is a really good idea lol .
Agreed, insurance is actually important with foldables
I'm confused if it's great for social media, youtube and twitch what content is it not good for...?
@@darkwebgirl my work app is hard to clock out on, some video games like subway surfer for example cut out the text on the edges until it gets updated. Fantasy football apps get squished.
aspect ratio is very different with this phone
I had my Flip for maybe a week and a half. I absolutely loved it and had no issues. Today I was walking and the phone (was closed) slid out of my hand and landed right on concrete on the hinge. Heard a crunch and my heart sank. The phone wouldnt open beyond 45 degrees and the hinge was completely broken. I went to my local Source and was able to exchange it for an S22. I'm extremely disheartened that the phone broke so easily despite Samsung really waving the flag about this new hinge design. I'll definitely buy another Flip in the future when Samsung improves durability
Same thing happened to me ..I broke 2 within 2 weeks ..nothing else messed up both times but the hinge ..I also ended up with the s22
Damn I think the redesigned non gear hinge this year didn't handle drops as well as the gear design
Does a case not manage this issue?
did it has case and still break?
Need to know that, making big decitions now xD, now I'm an adult and can buy stuff
@@chipsfree don't seem like it
The biggest change between the Flip 3 and Flip 4 was documented on Jerry Rig Everythings video on both devices.
How's it holding up?
@@irateamatsu Still works great. Haven't had any issues yet.
the use of the strap case is for your 3 fingers to hold your phone comfortably. just insert them in between, serves like a popsocket
You can even bend your phone and take videos one handed in landscape like a camcorder with the case. Downside is nfc and wireless charging is a hit or miss with it.
right! it's fun doing it in my zflip 3 🙂 my only challenge is the battery life tho 😴
Did the same thing to me.
My screen had some dead pixels show up randomly today. Of course it was one year, one week, and one day since I bought it, so I just missed the warranty coverage. Should have gotten insurance. 🙁
Same happened to me. What's the point in having a warranty if they won't repair a faulty phone.
The one side of my screen is completely black. Not dropped it and I do have a cover on it too
I have no problem with excessive battery drain overnight. Also no problem with Bluetooth range. No problem with media transfer from my Flip 4 to my ThinkPad. Guess each user differs.
Yeah, who uses a wire? I use Air Droid for years.
Didnt you mean zflip 3
If you can watch/listen to UA-cam on the outer screen , the battery should last way longer.
@@笨蛋学跳舞 you guys dont get the point if this phone... why bigger cover screen? best idea we make similar size screens on both sides huh?? an all screen flip phone. is this really what y'all want or what? cover screen is big enough to navigate and shit. battery is ok and i have the flip 3. use ur brain, dont be a fool, thank you
Flip 4 has a better efficient chip
I feel like if Samsung wanted to upgrade the Flip 5, they should make it wider. It's already a pretty long and thin phone but if they made the screen wider instead of longer, we would get more screen (possibly a better aspect ratio like you mentioned) and better battery life since they would be able to pack more battery in the same device.
I spent many many hours with Samsung support to fix problem with left bud not syncing. You fixed it in minutes¡!!!!!!THANK YOU
What a revelation I have never bought a large phone.
My best battery advice is to make a custom bixby routine
If the phone is folded enter power saver mode
If the phone unfolded exit power saver mode
I'm sure this'll be helpful on the z flip 5 when it launches too
I've never had issues with bluetooth, even going through multiple walls at the same (or even further than free throw line).
True, I think his issue with transferring files is an isolated case in my opinion.
Same
Do you prefer the S21FE or the Z flip 4?
I usually can't understand when tech people talk in tech language. But you've dumbed it down enough for even me and added in humour. Thanks!
I've been through 4 phones in 4 months.
So, how did it turn out? 😅
Mine has the same issue - it never fell but started bubbling at the right side of the hinge under a black dot. There is no damage on the phone itself.
(I never really buy expensive shit, so it's Murphy's law I guess.)
Your comment gives me hope they will actually replace it under warrantee, so ty for that. Am hoping your issues were solved.
Samsung only replaced same issue I had once. Same problem 2nd time
Samsung always had that problem of standby battery drain, I remember that from galaxy s2 plus.
I'm assuming that they re-set the fone before selling it...
the reason it goes from 70 to 60 on standby is because of apps doing data collection while on standby, not the phone's fault
Screen is very hit and miss! So many examples of breaking through the middle! SAMSUNG will not repair it PERIOD! They know the reliability is poor and clearly engineering fault!
Never mind. It came back. Thanks. I just kept it on charge and then held down the start button and up it came. Love your show.
I love mine and didn't go into thinking it would be anything more or less than a regular phone but folds and I love it.
The biggest problem is actually how fragile the hinge is. Just after a week of ownership, it's in fire warranty repairs because the phone wouldn't open past 90°.
the fuck you doing with you phone? keep care so you dont have any probs... its a phone not a frisbee...
Seems like the new hinge is giving people alot of problems compared to the 3
Yep 2 weeks in and i still don't have my phone back from repairs yet.
It's broken again and I'm now fighting with the provider for a full refund or a different model of phone.
How do you get it fix? I have the same iz
I would, still stay in my flip 4 .love using it
The only negative thing about is that the battery warms up quickly but it's not too bad with a sturdy case.
Agreed. I paid lots of money for this thing. I am gonna take care of it so it's lasts as long as possible.
The screens are less durable than a phone with gorilla glass it's basically plastic and can be damaged with a finger nail

I hope on the flip 5 they just take out the front camera and create a full screen to body ratio, and then emphasize the back cameras and cover screen to do selfies, and of course make it dustproof and extra durable.
Maybe the flip 15 will be good for you

Good idea! I think the only issue there would be the inability to have video calls😓
Thank you

Thanks for the review. The 5 problems u mentiond looks minor to me.. i want the phoneeee
Lol love Flossy and I love my flip 4
So far I don’t have any problems with it.
How long have you owned yours for now ?
@Kast403 4 months no issue for me, is how u use it.. if you are phone addicted and social addicted you have a problem not your phone cause you stress it. Just sayin
Hi, are you still using the z flip 4 now? All is well? You had no problems with him? I just switched to flip 4 thanks

I love my Flip 3, but after just 5 months I have already sent it to Samsung to get the film replaced. The screen cover has a huge filthy crack and air bubbles after just 5 months. Two weeks using my son's old iPhone 7, what a bummer.
Same here. Mine also lost sensitivity around the crease. Never had a problem with Samsung phones until I bought the Flip 4.

How is it so far? I have the 13 promax thinking of switching to flip 4? Thoughts?
After some adjustment, how is it? I'm potentially switching over from the iPhone 7
The problem is more persistent with TWS earphones. Normal bluetooth earphone seems alot less so.
Is the flip 4 screen strong enough? I heard that the screen on flip 3 breaks in middle and we need to change the screen protector time to time as it gets broken.
My issues with the Flip 4 (from greatest to least)
1.) The screen bubbles in the center. This is infuriating, to have paid $1,100 for a device that is going to have a defective screen(and yes, Verizon does consider it a defect, as they've sent me a replacement every time it's happened)
2.) On my first replacement, the screen does not shut all the way.
Think I'll hold on to my 21 Ultra and see what the next model will bring. I love the look of the Z flip
i appreciate having a video talking about its faults! im changing my phone for the first time in 6 years (oh oneplus 5 how well youve served me) and looking for another one thatll last me this long so hearing about the issues with it and not just the new and shiny things on this phone is really nice! helps me actually decide if it's worth it. tbh wish more reviewers would take this approach!

So no one is gonna talk about the misleading thumbnail?
When plugged into a computer, treat it just like any other USB device. No special software needed. Locate he files on the phone (very easy to do), copy, paste into your computer. Done. Fast. That is how I transferred 100GB of pics and music from the micro SD card in my old phone into my z flip.
I open my phone with 1 hand..i just use my neck or cheeks and it'll open while holding it one hand..
Hahahaha
The screen is fine, just dont forget to always close it to protect the screen.
Bluetooth i had no issues with as well :)
i found out about that crease its the screen protector that is lifting up you can take it off and it wont damage the phone but if you do you need to be carefull because samsung made the screen protextor to feel like the screen behind it if you take it off you will have the same feeling
Good job being critical. This helps samsung improve. I'm loving mine so far
To get that option go to developer options and select usb debbuging

how do you fix when only the top part of the phone is frozen?
All you gotta do is remove the strap LOL
The Bluetooth is something else as well. I actually have an LG Tone headphones, I work in a warehouse with concrete walls and I can literally walk 50 feet with about 3 walls of concrete between us before starting to lose signal.
Should I upgrade from iPhone as gen 2 to this?

I love mine. Smart switch works perfect especially when you have a Google account and a Samsung account. All your passwords are in there.
The best part about all these cons?
When the Samsung Flip 5 comes out that remedies these issues, they're going to give this phone a trade in value of like $900 and its "only" going to cost like $100 bucks. Just drink a few less starbucks that month lol
You can use a USB-C flash drive to transfer data to and then plug in the flash drive to your computer

I can see a $600 Flip selling really well, and let us be honest, anyone buying the current Flip are obviously not looking for great specs, as they have the wrong device if they are!😂
You again! Hater
Lol you must have the Over rated iphone🤣
There is good deal for z flip 4 in UK now. £999 -20% for any Samsung products over £199 so makes it £799, then Samsung is paying £250 for any smartphone in any condition so makes it £549 and they adding Samsung Buds 2 Pro worth £200 and 12 months of Disney+ worth £80 so phone after deduction all extras cost about £270 so pretty same like cheapest phones 😉😉😉

I bought zflip 3 last Novermer. in warranty time , it’s screen cracked from near the hinges, I tried to claim warranty for it, Samsung refused and I had to pay $250 to
Replace its screen with lead time of 1.5 months.
I lose about 8% overnight.
Depends on how many apps are running in the background
Appreciation for the video and the feedback was really helpful but would have loved the video more if it was shorter and concise..
FYI The Flip4 has only USB-C 2.0 so much slower than the S22U USB-C 3.0. That is why it does not have DeX. Part of the cuts to squeeze more margins out of the Flip.
Productivity is unbeaten on the s22u no argument there lol
