Thank you so much for your great RR explanation video. It gives me another reason to purchase a great second hand Phantom of this era ❤. My very best regards from Austria!
Cheapest one is an all up together well serviced one. If you then use it weekly it shouldn't be too bad. I chose badly. But I wanted an early car and choice is limited.
@@hamishcruden7623 it’s helps. It has 2 massive batteries and I never used to charge it. But I’d get an odd fault come up. Since keeping it charged I haven’t had anything.
I am driving 🚘 20 plus year old Rolls_Royce and Bentley cars. That have never needed any thing done to their wheels. But then unlike today, the vehicles were made to last longer back then !...
@@alancrisp1582 it’s only the surround of the centre cap. I think the harsh wheel cleaner has affected it over time. It was owned by a funeral company so has been cleaned a lot, and probably not with the best products. Just needs a little TLC…. I hope!! Thanks for continuing to watch!
You were talking re. the " lift "switch and what that means when you got distracted by the missing chrome strip. Can you explain or show how that works. Thanks,🙃
Oh yes sorry. I'll show it in another video. It raises the car for rough or uneven surfaces. Much like a Range Rover. They are built for wealthy people the world over, and not everywhere has tarmac roads. It's handy sometimes... I guess also for the polo match too!! Sorry, I missed it. Thanks for the reminder. 👍
The side repeater on mine was broken. It was one piece with the badge, however that’s no longer made so had to have both replaced and bodywork too to get them to match. Now I have separate badge and repeaters! Never ending! 😂 Thanks for watching!
@@ChrisEdworthy mine has the separate light and badge, but RR no longer stock these parts so I got new old stock from the parts people recommended on here. I take it they just prise out from the front?

Have you tried it in a multi storey car park yet? I once watched two ladies trying to get into a space in a shopping centre car park. Me and the couple opposite both sat watching oark their Phantom. They did it , but the passenger gad to get out. Another good video Chris..
@@andysalter4473 I have, maybe I’ll see if I can get someone to film me. There a small own local to me. The ramps are tight. But I think it’ll be fine. The turning circle is really good on it. I’ll see what I can do for another video! Thanks for continuing to watch.
@@eddyhenningsson3121 I’ve been in quite a few new Rolls and they still have the traditional way of laying it out. Less tech more luxury. I think it really enhances the feeling of it being something special. Even Spectre isn’t full of screens it’s a work of art. Thanks for watching, and commenting.
😱 Yes ,and so many modern electronics to go wrong !. By the time these new B.M.W designed and built cars are over 10 years old. There will be at least two ✌ or more warning ⚠ lights 🚥 showing.........
You can imagine the cost of the wood panels in the Rolls Royce, when the largest wood panel in my Lexus (it is small compared to all the wood panels in this Rolls Royce) is in the territory of €1000 as a spare part!
Yes, I would think they would have to make new panels or if it was around the clock you may have to buy all the panels so they match. Big expense. But for 21 years old it's all in such good condition. Shows the quality.
I have been daily driving it, just shows they can be used and get dirty. I hope you liked the video. I'll be sure to clean it at the weekend. For a wonderfully clean Rolls take a look at this: ua-cam.com/video/e0eAlY1LjG0/v-deo.html
No not at all. More respectful looks, smiles and waves. The odd person jumps out and shouts that they love the car. I had a wraith, less love for that. But I think this looks like a Rolls as people have them in their head… is a special thing to see. Bentleys are everywhere, a Phantom is once in a while.
I have no idea but some of the skilled jobs must be hard to find the skill so can't see they would be paid minimum wage. They must be hard to replace. But who knows!! Thanks for watching... multiple videos! 👍
Not quite true. The first generation Ghost is the closest to that, but only shared about 20% of BMW parts and platform. That's not the case with the latest generation. There will be some parts sharing but it's such a different car, there's not too much crossover at all. Hence you can't easily repair one on the cheap. Thanks for watching.
That leather looks shiny - that’s years of body oil. Perhaps team up with a local detailer and do a detailing edition. The car will look awesome once properly cleaned.
That’s definitely on the list or a full recondition/connolising of the leather. It has some marks. But I was thinking a good clean first. Thanks for watching!
Other than a glitch the other evening it’s been fine. When the batteries were low it would throw up suspension faults or engine faults, but they cleared after turning the car off and back on. It seemed to be the first reading from some sensors weren’t read correctly if the car had been sat. The immediate restart allowed the car to have the information correctly. I now use a CTEK charger and it’s been fine for 3.5 years. Long may it continue!!

Woodwork joins are called Bookmatching & Mascot is done by the Lost Wax method.

While I can appreciate the craftsmanship I think pound for pound a £13000 Kia Picanto pound for pound is far more impressive

When I look at reviews of the newest Rolls Royce, I didn't think it was so similar, tons of stuff on your car that are still in the newest ones. :-)
