'Jackson is shedding a little bit'
Proceeds to remove a whole dog from the fur
Ours was similar.
My brother and I would spend an hour brushing out the floof.
We did it almost every weekend. A good size pile every time.
Birds came and carried the floof away. It was fun to see a little nuthatch flying away with a wad of floof as big as a softball.
German shedder
@@user-dh6bj2me5p We also decided to always brush ours outside and the birds loved the nest material but we did about once a day (unless it was raining) while the shedding season was and about once a week when she wasn't shedding. Even then it seemed like our home had piles of dog hair every day to vacuum (I was surprised she wasn't bald at this point).
That's an F5 furnado confirmed.
@@user-dh6bj2me5pI remember my parents shepherd getting shedded out and seeing the same thing with birds lining their nests with it. 💕
I love German Shepherds! I have 2! Both are very loving, but in public couldn’t be more different. One gets butt hurt if every person he sees doesn’t pet him, and the other is so scared and timid, I now only take him out for vet visits. He was a rescue from a horribly abusive situation, and was so shut down, he was at risk of being euthanized. So I did what any good Shepherd lover does. I adopted him.😄It was amazing when I got him home. He took one look at my older Shepherd and fell in love. So I call Butch (the older dog) an emotional support dog for my other dog, Rett.
Poor baby Rett. Glad handsome little man is getting loved and cared for now!!
Thank you so much for taking Rhett! We are also GSD people! ❤
Love your story . I miss mine I had for some 14 yrs .
Can you do me a favor? Can you gently kiss the top of your puppers heads for me? Pls and thank u
Ive' had different Shepard over my 15 years raising and breeding them: I believe it's not just handability which these "livestock originally" and than working class dogs: people often get weak temperament genetics into their bloodlines(outcross and line out genetics) Jackson is a well behaved for his standard easy 8/10.
People often confuse High anxiety high energy with aggressive or lack of impulse' control, this'again goea'back towards "handability and proper dog social skills and training." Understand yourself first than get a dog not the other way around folks
I am disabled, have been since age 23 (almost 52 now) and I got a GSD in my 30s when I "settled" into my disability enough to "cope" with it to a degree that I had the necessary aids, like a disability scooter. I got a small little pup (8 weeks) and at first she rode along the footrest for the entire trip (I took long drives through nature, we have paved ways along the river and canals where I live). Then a number of weeks in, she developed an interest to "tippy toe" off the foot rest and explore a bit. Gradually she started walking nicely along the scooter, and with the months that followed she gradually learned to walk, and even run beside it. This scooter could go 15KM/H max. speed but it was no match for her! That gal could run! Every walk we started with a nice "run" at full speed (she was over 1 years old at that time). I loved that dog, and was so sad when she was gone! People used to gaze at us in amazement and bewilderment, especially because she was so adept at walking nicely beside me, without getting her toes caught in the wheels. ;) She was some dog! RIP Isra. Pup in 2004! Adore this breed!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful story.
@@Kinypshun And thank you for saying so, much appreciated. Gosh, I loved that dog!
German shepherds are the 2nd best breed! (Right behind my beloved golden ball of fluff) My mother has a german shepherd currently and shes wild! Protecting us from the light and shadows! Couldnt be more different from our german shepherd that passed away :( She was so calm and loyal.
@@Elvewizzy. They can be a handful, all right, but what dog isn't? A consistent kind of upbringing really is key, IMO, lots of play, time for energy to get out, and they are basically big cuddlebugs.
This does make me feel better, I've heard great things about shepherds and am considering one as a service dog. Every time I see one they give me the vibe of wonderful energetic companions
I work in vet med, and while GSDs are usually very stressed out and anxious, they are rarely "aggressive". Their owners on the other hand....😅
I used to be a room assistant for the vet. We had a GSD breeder come in all the time. She was ... something else. The terms "high maintenance" and "walking on eggshells" come to mind. Interestingly, she liked me as a tech, for some reason.
@@gojiberry7201are you the Karen whisperer? Haha.
There is a saying that dogs resemble their owners... hmm actually maybe that doesnt really fit but thought I throw that out there anyway. I have seen really buff guys walk a chihuahua so yeah xD
My boy was just a little grumbley at the vet so we always put the "treat dispenser" over his snoot and everyone got along fine
I worked as a tech at a mobile vet company. I had quite a few GSDs that were serious cautions, will bite. Unfortunately that was kinda the deal with mobile vets, at least our practice. MANY of our patients had been fired at their previous vet, or had to be fully sedated for an exam. The hope for the owners was that they wouldn’t start getting worked up seeing the vet building and they would be able to tolerate more (and in many cases they could but were still cautions.) We had a lot of nasties from all different kinds of breeds, same for cats. Personally though I loved the spicy🌶️ 🌶️ kitties 🐱.
Most were anxious and fidgety, some a rag doll. I found that you can generally predict how the appointment is going to go within the first few moments of meeting them. The cautions would charge up towards you low barking and growling, the nervy ones would back up with a serious of higher pitched barks, and the calm ones would just walk up to you maybe with a single bark or so to make sure everyone is alert.
Jackson, the beautiful German Shedder. What a beautiful old boy. Glad to see my boy isn’t the only one going through multiple sheds this winter.
He is sooooo devine❤😊
German Shedder 😂 perfect
❤"As you can see, Jackson is shedding." Ya think?? Ha ha😂
He lost a whole other dog in the amount of fur he lost!!🤣
Can we all take a moment and appreciate just how wonderful Jackson looks for being ten?? Such a handsome guy!
I love how even Jackson is looking at his massive shedding and is like “that’s from me?”
The way he leaned into the dryer, even tilting his head,... What an amazing fur baby! ☺️🐶
It's called 'dog'
His distinguished old man, white whiskers are everything! Jackson, you're such a gentleman!
What a lovely well kept shepherd, he's in great shape for 10 years old. His owners have been blessed.
My thoughts too...
Jackson has emitted a Category F5 Furnado! What a beautiful boy he is. Seems sweet, too. ♥
You could make another Jackson with all of the shed he produced lol. He is a majestic, elderly gentleman, who is the Goodest old boy and deserves all the loves. 😂💜😍
I think Jackson loves his groomer too! 🥰
German shedder indeed - Jackson looks great! 👏🏻
Aww what a sweet boy. I loved when he gave her kisses, and esp. when he first looked up at her and she gave that loving "hi" back to him. ❤
What a cutie! So sweet with all his kisses.
Jackson is spectacular 🥰
I don't know how Vanessa ended up with two dogs at the end of the groom though!🤔😂
Oh My Goodness. Jackson is fluffing adorably handsome.
I had a GS/Akita and the pile of fluff looks about right. I'd chase her around the house, plucking the fluff off, and she thought it was a great game. I'd wish we had realized her mom's reactions and barking should have been a red flag. We fell in love with the puppy dog face. Jessi did not do well with strangers in the house. We worked really hard with training and socialization. We had our girl for 14 years.
I had a long haired female shepherd very much like Jackson. She was a rescue and an amazing dog. I miss her a lot. Have had two other shepherd rescues since and love the breed. My current rescue is a shepherd husky cross, but I don't think he knows he has shepherd in his dna. All husky in his head. Love him to pieces.
Same 🫠😂 shepsky but husky brain. Howling, drama, sass, wants to catch and eat everything, super friendly, etc. Looks pretty shepherd-y but… yeah husky brain
@@madelinemcdonald2609 exactly
Same here: Husky and griffon mix but she's very much a drama husky Queen, strongheaded, independant but very sweet girl. Luckily she has more of a griffon coat, not so much shedding, Love her so much!
Same here. We rescued out girl almost 10 years ago. I love that dog.
Gorgeous Jackson!
*_Gorgeous_* is the first thing that came into my head! What a dog! ❤
He's so beautiful and doesn't look his age at all.
@@miashell Yes, a great looking dog, both before and after the grooming. 👍🏼
Every time you have a German Shepherd on it makes me want to go get one. Growing up as a child we always had German shepherds, I miss them all very much.
I love dogs. My ex In Laws had a German Shepherd. He had an unusual talent. He knew when woman were pregnant (before anybody knew) then he would protect them until they delivered. My ex MIL across the street neighbor was the first he did this then I was next and so on. He would be there between meals. So he would check out the postman and my GP doc who walked by my house daily at lunch. A grand happy dog sitting on my front porch. That baby is now 52 years old. 😂🎉
Jackson is beautiful, and I am so glad that he got to see you and have a top rate grooming experience!
What a gentleman 😄
Just lost my shepherd in January, Jäger was 11. He loved his baths but hated the vet. Even though the vet and staff loved him. He is sooo missed.
Jackson is such a good boy! So sweet to see him giving you kisses.
Quite a lively one for the age!
Strewth that’s a lot of undercoat…he must feel so much better now. Sweet boy x
Wow he looks amazing for 10 years old! His owners must take excellent care of him 😊
What a sweet, beautiful old man! Amazing before and after, too.
Jackson is an absolut beauty! Wow! And such a good representation of German Shepherds ❤
Did...did you just make a clone with just floof? Jeez! What a fuzzy boy!
An Early Spring here in the South Plus a German Shedder? Can you say Fur Nado? 😂🐶♥👍
I lost my GSD at 15yo, a year ago this March. I miss her so much. She was wonderful. She was great for the vet and the groomer. Never aggressive but definitely watched strangers with a wary eye. If they had ever made a move, I have no doubt she would have reacted. She was a good girl.
Thank you for your story. I’ve heard of the good family dogs turning into “furry missiles with snarling teeth” when their loved ones are endangered. They are great dogs, for sure! 👍🏼
Unless you have a compelling reason, might I suggest a visit to some animal shelters and let another one of these incredible babies fill the hole in your heart?? Mine adopted me, right in the shelter, literally. 😊
I really love how you under state things in a very humorous way.
I have always loved german shepherd. So to me they are one of the sweetest breed.
Whew, what a flurry of fur!😂 I’m glad you like German shepherds, if they’re kept busy they’re great dogs.
Jackson is a gorgeous German Shepherd. His markings and coat are remarkable. 💙💙💙
It migth be that sheperds are so loyal that when left alone without their humans/ "pack" they can become very stressed if not worked with froma young age to do so. It could also be their medical problems. Many of them have hips and back problems and skin issues from being breed wrong over the years.
They are also often breed for thier size making their joints even more painfull.
A big dog who needs to work a lot with brain and body who is also very smart and sometimes have problems with being without their owner, plus the potentiell medical problems that often can make a dog react in a bad way out of pain, and that i've learnd often also talks alot and live for the drama. It sounds like something thst can go very wrong in the wrong hands. They are beautiful dogs though, I've had the plessure of owning one myself.
Fantasic dogs if you like to work out in thw woods a lot and want to have a buddy for life.
such a pretty boy, he looks so friendly and cute
In addition to what you said about the reasons for those stats, also when a dog (or a human for that matter) is physically sick or are in pain, the likelihood for fear and therefor aggression is much higher. Which is of course much more common in the vet’s office.
Wonderful dog and good video!
Excellent point!
Jackson = free kisses! 😘Vanessa thx for key breed and other info. Awareness can help prevent more abandoned, neglected innocent animals incl puppies and kittens. xx
Such a sweet boy. You can see his good nature in his eyes. His human did an amazing job. Which allow this German Shepherd to enjoy life to the full. ❤
That looks like at least a Category 4 furnado!!😁😁 Jackson obviously had not been groomed for some time, and he behaved quite well during his groom. A well-trained pooch indeed.....
Not that obvious mate, I got a swiss white shepherd, closest relative to the GSD there is, and since he got his balls removed (medical reasons) he sheds massively when it's the season. He'd look like that a week or two after a perfect groom. Plus I've never met a GSD or WSS that liked to have their "pants" groomed, thus the matting there has a tendency to get out of hand.
What a good boy! He looks so beautiful!!! That’s one pile of fur!!!❤️
He’s absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing the transformation.
He has such a noble head and a beautiful face.
What an adorable and affectionate dog. We don’t see dogs giving you so many kisses.
He looks soooooo MUCH BETTER!!!!
I love ❤️ the furnados, but I really love ❤️ to see you melt them with the shedding nozzle. You do wonderful work. I'm obsessed.
My GS gets along well with her vet. No high drama. Maybe the treat she gets upon initial greeting? Visits are always quick then the goldie next with no problems. From experience I know a GS has a mountain of fur. You had your hands full. Enjoyed thank you.
My German Shedder loves the vet too, he get so happy to see the vet techs he wags his floofy tail and cries.
My vet showers the dogs in treats before, during, and after exams.
The staff can make or break the experience. My vet receptionist makes a point of petting all the dogs and giving treats, so the dogs associate walking into the office with good things.
What a sweetie boy! I really enjoy seeing the dogs playing in the back yard after their groom.
10 years old. Still has the heart of a spry puppy. What a big hearted sweetie.
Fur was flying from this beautiful boy. Great job on the grooming ❤
We bred them when I was a kid. They are smart, obedient, and protective. They require a lot of training, socialization, and consistency; pretty much like any dog, but a bit more. Not for the lazy dog owner.
Jackson is gorgeous, even at 10. Sweetie Boy! WOOF! 🙂🙃😉💓
He's a living doll! What a cutie patootie in senior form!
Can't believe he is 10 yo! So sprightly and healthy. What a sweetheart
Excellent representation of the breed GERMAN SHEDDER 😁 Handsome for sure
What a sweetheart this dog is!
He’s definitely a well behaved representative of the breed. 👍🏼
What a beautiful boy! I have always admired Shepherds from afar, as I know my lifestyle is not conducive to giving one a good life.
Vanessa, EVERYTIME I see you grooming a GS, I believe in my heart that you are grooming Zoe 😢😢. It's no secret how much you loved her or other GS❤❤. Yea, I'd say Jackson might have been shedding just a touch. Love what you do. 😊😊❤❤
Jackson is just a handsome boy and so well behaved!
Wow Jackson, what a handsome wonderful boy. But yes, German Shepherds are very hard work! Know what you're in for when you get one, but they can be super rewarding and wonderful companions.
Oh what a beautiful boy. I love his white whiskers 💙🐾
My favourite breed ! I grew up with one. A gentle giant , my protector and guardian. Snoopy I miss you 😢
What a lover Jackson is!!!😍😍😍 And of course the chunks of fur coming off was sheer satisfaction!!! What's not to love about this video!!!💖
Jackson loves giving kisses 😘😘😘 how cute! 😍😍😍
He is so pretty.
That dog looks really good for his age!
10 years old dog but he has incredibly funny puppy face) beautiful Jackson
Aww
...Jackson is a handsome and polite gentleman. 😍❤
That has to feel so much better. Jackson says thank you!
They are so regal! And Jackson is ever such a good boi 🐾💕
What a pretty dog.
Love that Jackson. He has a particularly endearing face and demeanor. I wanted to reach in and hug him.
What a beautiful and well behaved boy You can practically see him going "ohh that's the spot" with the dryer around his neck.
What a sweet Handsome boy. He's very nice looking dog.
Handsome boy. Shedding just a little 😂
I need these videos to be longer! 3 minutes of Jackson wasn't enough 😢 More please, Vanessa!
Her videos on Girl With The Dogs 2 are much longer, like 20 minutes! :)
@@LR-77 Yes, I watch those! But these could definitely be longer than three minutes.
What a handsome gentleman Jackson is, he did so well!!
That pile of fur…!!! 😅
Must be such a relief for him to get lose all that!
Beautiful dog!
Woof. That's one gorgeous, sweet dog.
What a good boy!
My beagle knows your voice now, he can be sleeping in another room and if i start one of your videos he comes running to watch with me. Donald is your #1 fan.
"Jackson is shedding a little bit" 🤣🤣🤣Well, just a little bit. And some tiny Shephard whining was there, so he wasn´t broken. Cute boy!
The problems that people have with German Shepherds is that people forgot that dogs are not just meant to be a stand-in for a child or friend. It's only recently that such a large percentage of the population is capable of wasting resources to feed and care for a dog with nothing concrete in return. Dogs were made to work, to be useful, and dogs _love_ to be useful. They _need_ to be useful. Some dogs need it more than others, and German Shepherds need it more than most any dog breed. That's one of the primary reasons why I love German Shepherds so much, but it does make them difficult to handle for people who can't find some concrete use for their dog.
Exactly. If they don't feel like they are doing their part for the pack (whether thats a family with mutliple doggos or just you and the pooch) it sends their doggy brains into overdrive. Or they get horribly depressed. That's why outdoorsy trips with fun dog activities are essential every now and then, as well as a regular routine of training, rewards and playing.
So feeding your dog is "wasting resources". Wow, okay, got it.
@@larsulrichvevo3196 you think it's necessity? you need to invest not only money but also ALOT time in your furry friend and it`s a resource too
@@larsulrichvevo3196I know what they mean - back in the day a dog always had a job (shepherd, farm dog, etc) Just like we now have the luxury of not sending our kids to the factory, we can afford a dog who's "job" is to brighten our day. My shepherd mix was fine with a few runs per day, but if you get a working-line Malenios or husky it's a whole different league...
Grooming and bee keeping at the same time. Nice LOL
OMG, that GSD fur tornado is sooo relatable! What a handsome boy!
Jackson looks so much better, and I bet he felt better too!!!
JACKSON IS SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!🐶❤❤❤❤
Jackson is beauuuuuuutiful! ❤ Good boy.
What a beautiful well behaved boy.
Jackson looks so nice after his groom and no doubt he feels a lot lighter having lost half of his coat, beautiful dog with kind eyes.
Jackson is beautiful !! Epic before and after pics❤
lol! Jackson is bigger than you! And surely a sweetheart.. loving his little yelps at the end! Great job ! He is so handsome! 🐾 🐾
German Shepherds have the most expressive faces. They are a beautiful animal. Another great groom!!!
So cute! Loved how you made him handsome again, even as he indulged you with a face wash of his own. 😊
