Thank you so much Vanessa for grooming our boy ❤️ he looked and smelled amazing and I truly appreciate you watching his sensitive ears as they are just starting to come up ❤️
Ooohhhhh, when you welcomed him on your lap, tears threatened on my end. I miss my Pomeranian so fluffing much, but I can't go through that again. (16.5 years) you're so lucky
My golden retriever was VERY CONCERNED! I started the video and she immediately got up from her nap and started looking about for THE BABY to comfort. Silly stinky boy!
That reminds me of an anecdote I read; someone's parents adopted a tortoise shell cat who'd just finished raising a litter of kittens. When the person was born, the cat treated her like one of her own kittens for the rest of the cat's life
My dad's Doberman would sleep under my son's crib and when he would star fussing, she would go and grab my dad's shirt sleeve and drag him to take care of the baby. As my son grew, they would spend Saturday mornings watching cartoons. I disciplined him once in front of her. She loved that boy with all her heart for the rest of her life.

We have an all black 130lb GSD who is now starting his fifth year. He's a rescue (from a puppy mill breeder) so we did not get to experience these early days with him, only meeting up with him when he turned four months (approximate) age. I cannot stress enough how what she says is true, they must experience everything when they are young 'uns. What a pup!
We got ours at 3 months and he was already traumatised. Now he's 7 and I do all the grooming myself because he panics at the groomers and they don't know how to handle him. 😢
My girl was rescued from a breeder at one year. After a year, she is like a totally different dog. I still have to introduce new things to her, but she is so much more confident now! 💓
"You wanna get in my lap?" YES, THANK YOU was Maverick's reply. Absolutely a-dor-a-ble! Thank you again, Vanessa, for another entertaining, empathetic and flawless groom.
Seriously, kittens and puppies are the cutest beings in the world! Why can't they stay small forever? Maverick is a very well-behaved young man! Very thoughtful of his owners to get him used to grooming as a puppy, so that he isn't aggressive when he grows up!
In spite of how many difficulties come with dog grooming, Vanessa still makes it look incredibly easy. Man, I don't think I have the chops to be a dog groomer. Much respect to Vanessa and all the groomers.
I have a Maltese, and while at 14 he doesn't need a full grooming, there were many years where he needed that, every six weeks. I tried so hard to groom him. Clippers, scissors, combs, shampoo, conditioner, ear powder, eye cleanser, nail Dremel, blade coolant and oil, so much, even a grooming table... it was a nightmare. I never did get the hang of it, and in the name of not making my dog and myself both miserable, I forked out the money on a professional groomer, and I can say, she earned every penny and was worth every cent.
He's so sweet! The way his little tail started a'waggin when you brought the treats just warmed my heart, and how curious he was about the slicker... He is too cute!
My neighbor has a husky/german shepherd mix that's all black like this boy, and he's adorable! He's huge and skinny and so excitable, I love him to death even though I barely get to see him. Funny enough, even though he's a mixed breed, he looks entirely german shepherd. I can easily imagine this fluffball puppy looking exactly like him when he's fully grown. :3
My German Shepherd is also jet black with the white badge on his chest - short haired and weighs 100lb - I gave him his first wash a few weeks ago and he wasn't too bad - he is a rescue dog and very reactive but improving...! Best wishes from the west coast of Ireland....!
If you can imagine being new in the world and giants are doing things that you aren’t sure will or will not hurt you. It takes time to trust. Maverick is a good pup. ❤
Hearing him brought back so many memories. I used to have a long-haired GSD (but with the brown/black colouring). The amount of hair he managed to shed was astounding. He was also an outdoor dog who was physically unable to walk past any body of water (stream, lake, pond, puddle, water bowl) without jumping in it. He loved "biting" water from garden hoses or watering cans, loved running through sprinklers - but showerheads? Absolutely not. He would make it known - loudly - just how much he hated that devilish contraption. Even at 11 years he sounded just like a pup, trying to convince me to let him just go and roll in the mud instead.
