I would expand on beauty pageants and say all of the no matter their age. I remember watching one (miss America) only because I met one of the contestants due to working with her brother.
As to your point no 4., I think owners of German cars should launch Class Action lawsuits against the manufacturers of their vehicles, giving the clearly high failure rates in turning signal indicators on Audi, BMW and Mercedes cars.
1. Today’s political climate that focuses on hate, paranoia, conspiracy theories and anger 2. Most modern country/pop music 3. Bad drivers 4. Waiting in any sort of line or waiting room 5. Dealing with people I work with who don't know how to do their job 6. Sweet Potatoes 7. My ice maker that stops working every four to six weeks 8. Cold/cool days in June…and warm days in December 9. Shopping for and trying on clothes 10. Amber alerts Honorable mentions....when guys use the term "Bro" and people who video tape a whole live concert on their phone.
Modern country is awful! I don't know if it's the modern production that just doesn't lend itself to country or the sickly sweet, family-friendly vibes of it. Everything I've heard feels extremely generic. And no. 9, yes, clothes are a huge nuisance. When I finally find something that fits, is comfy and looks decent, it's a gift from the Gods that I hang onto for dear life.
Jamie...great list that I'm completely on board with however, I love a baked sweet potato with some butter. Sweet and savory and (w/o the butter) they're very good for you with all the vitamins/minerals and some protein too. Can't wait for the next Monster's Den. Stuff I hate: 1. Narcissists - people taking selfies of themselves or photos of what's on their dinner plates for social media. 2. Social media 3. Camera phones at live concerts - "I am recording my life to watch it all later on." 4. Political extremists - on the left or right, and the arguments that take place in public between those groups. 5. Rap music ("ditto") 6. Rudeness - walking down the street with a phone in your hand not looking where you are going, not holding a door open for the person behind you. 7. Baggy jeans - that make kids look like they've pooped themselves with the crotch down at knee level! 8. Reality TV shows - all of them (It can't be "reality" if there's a camera right in front of you filming it anyway, you're still acting!) 9. Wearing baseball caps backwards. 10. Anyone who calls themself an "influencer" on UA-cam.
@@fclefjefff4041 In which case you clearly never experienced messaging boards during the BBS days or Usenet during the early days of the Internet, where certain topics were discussed in certain discussion groups - in those days "social media" did not exist and really only came about during the advent of Twitter and Faecesbook when people posted a lot more randomly. So no, you're wrong. And a complete stranger on the Internet describing me as "dismissive" is of no relevance to me anyway. That went well for you. Off you go then.
@@thedarkwizardroom You do you and I don't do memes but I did once come across a photo of a guy in the crowd at a Wimbledon tennis match with a baseball cap on backwards who was using his hand above his eyes to shield them from the sun. I always think of that photo when I someone wearing a baseball cap that way.
@@fclefjefff4041 No, it isn't. As a computer and Internet veteran, YT discusssions in channels devoted to specific topics are more akin to messaging boards on old Bulletin Board Systems or Usenet groups during the early days of the Internet in that they are more structured - and anyone going too far off topic in a YT channel is considered to be trolling, as they were back in those days. The term "social media" did not exist back then and only appeared when the more modern and "random" services appeared today. As to your second point. I am equally dismissive of random opinions of strangers on the Internet. So that went well for you, not. Off you go then. You can thank me for the Internet history lesson later.
YES on the concert shirts. I'm a high school teacher, and so many students are wearing shirts for bands they have no clue about. "Back in my (our) day" you only wore a shirt for a band you loved. It was a point of pride and part of your identity. I ask students to name a song by the band on their shirt and most can't do it.
As a college student this irks me also, like if you're wearing an Obituary shirt but don't know Obituary then fuck right off. You have a Metallica shirt but dont know Ride The Lightning? Fuck right off lmao. Saw a girl with a Metallica tour shirt and I said hey man that was a killer tour, she literally said her mom bought it for her and she wasn't there. I died a little inside lmao
@@redcat9436Exactly! Who remembers song titles these days when you’re listening to so much music. I can name every title of the first five Metallica albums, but it’s hard with bands you’ve only listened to for five years or so, especially when you’re not in your twenties or thirties anymore.
Years ago, during my first semester of college, I was on the receiving end of this. An older guy working the cafeteria on campus saw my Iron Maiden shirt and goes "what do you know about them?" with pure contempt. I was familiar with a good handful of songs at the time! I told him I loved Number of the Beast and Powerslave, and he nodded in approval. Guess I looked too young at the time 😂
“Rap music, Humid Day , Running Track, in his way .. Political talk, Traffic Jam, Reinstate A Smoking Ban.. Coffee Drinking,Cinema Talk, Motley Crue and Shirts to Mock But Pete Didn’t Start the fire, it was always burning since the worlds been turning, Pete didn’t light it but he tried to fight it”
People that say Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, etc haven’t been good since the ‘70’s, but admit to not listening to anything from these bands in 20/30 years.
Well, I've heard enough new Alice to prefer his classic stuff so the newer stuff does very little for me except for maybe Dirty Diamonds though that was back to the roots anyway.
@redcat9436 Brutal Planet is greatest Bible thumping song of all time. Last Temptation is the best album Cooper has done, outside of Killer, Love it to death, and Billion dollar Babies.
I’m a member at our local art house theatre and they have a zero tolerance policy for people interrupting the show in any way. I’ve complained a couple times about people using their phones during the movie and each time the staff asked them to leave. No warnings…it’s beautiful.
A special one time showing of Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal also now has phone cell idiots? "Yea, yea, I'm in the theater. It's just The Seventh Seal. What? So what time do you want me there? No problem. What? Oh, this guy is playing chess with death or something." Get out! 🤣
There was a guy in the school playground wearing an AC/DC shirt , I asked him do you like Saxon ? " never heard of them " was his reply, end of conversation
HI Pete, on the subject of people wearing T-shirts of bands they know nothing about, i know exactly where you're coming from. I live in England and people do it here too. I was recently waiting in a queue at the supermarket and the woman in front of me had a Ramones T-shirt on. I told her i liked the T-shirt and asked her what her favourite Ramones song was. She looked at me blank then said to me " Oh, they make music as well? I did not know that". I just smiled and looked down at the floor.
30 songs if you're lucky and in a small market they'll further dilute it with the safest more recent Rock picks they can think of. You'd think Satellite radio would remind programmers oh yeah, people like album tracks and live stuff for Rock too don't they? but it never happens.
I have not willingly listened to classic rock, or other corporate, radio stations, in decades. I can't stand them, for the exact reason that you mentioned. There is one great independent rock radio station in my state that is DJ-run and very eclectic. Other than that, I am a "full album" listener, and I *love* it that way!
@@GarySkadra As a proud "half Ukrainian", I recently took my small collection of Ted Nugent CDs to a local charity shop ("Thrift Store" as you'd say in the USA) because of his public hatred towards Zelenskyy during the US election campaign. It's a shame because I really liked a lot of his stuff up to "Double Live Gonzo" and with me being in Europe and not in the USA anyway, I could care less about his politics or support for guns - but when people are dying (on both sides) because of an illegal invasion by a dictator, then mocking that isn't acceptable.
@@GarySkadra It's a shame, too, because he actually does know quite a bit about great music, but he often prefers to rant about politics. For years, I wanted to see Ted in concert, but now, I don't have much desire to pay to see him at all.
That's a good list, but I just want to thank the people who came up with this bit of Internet Wisdom: "Things I'm No Longer Interested In: 1. Driving at Night 2. Leaving my house at night 3. Driving in the winter 4. Leaving the house in winter 5. Driving 6. Leaving the house"
It’s wild, right? Two phrases, in any language, will immediately grant you some social credit and help you get what you want. But some people can’t even do that much.
Neighbours with barking dogs. Neighbours whose kids have a trampoline. Neighbours with teens endlessly bouncing a basketball. Neighbours whose entire music collection is autotuned pop. Neighbours.
As someone who also used to hate it, I think I can lend some insight into why people like rap, and why it's endured for decades on the charts when almost no other style of music has. For a long time, I was close-minded and refused to give it much of a chance because I was in college when Eminem and 50 Cent were popular. I HATED hearing throbbing subwoofers every night in the dorms at 3 am, but it wasn't until I took a deep dive into stuff beyond the mainstream hits that I found stuff I liked. Then more recently, the systemic racism that the lyrics often encompass started to resonate with me when Donald Trump became popular as a presidential candidate and white nationalism came out of the woodwork. Mass shootings skyrocketed and not long after this, I saw George Floyd murdered by Minneapolis police before my very eyes as a smoking gun that it was indeed deliberate, and suddenly songs like NWA's F*** tha Police and Public Enemy's Fight the Power made sense. This wasn't protecting and serving against dangerous armed thugs, but an act of State-sponsored terrorism. As a man who is now in a biracial relationship, the only music that still addresses these issues has become an essential part of my music-listening repertoire, as has black music in many other styles. Other racially-conscious music I now love includes Gil-Scott Heron and Nina Simone. Anyway, I hope this lends some context as to why intelligent reasonable people with wide-ranging music knowledge might love a style you may write off as simplistic or repetitive, as I once did. I will add that I think rap suffers from the obnoxious tendency of critics to praise every mainstream act in the genre, from Kendrick Lamar to Li'l Wayne. They are predominantly white octogenarians who seem to be afraid of looking racist if they provide any ACTUAL CRITICISM to ANY of it, lending creedence to the prejudice that rap listeners have no taste. And entre nous, I hate the autotune that has come to pollute it too!
Ya know what else that really grinds my gears? People that get off elevators, escalators, trains, or whatever and just stand there in the way like a dolt
Mobiles at concerts, Air Travel, Kids in Pubs, E-Scooters, Virtue Signallers, All Politicians(obviously), People who try to get on the subway before you get off, Coldplay to name but a few. The list gets longer the older I get of course.....
Love coffee! Coffee yogurt, coffee ice cream, coffee candles, coffee candies, etc. ;-) Agree 100% on the wannabe-yuppies with the Starbux cups. This irks me - I'm at Petsmart & somebody ditched their $7 Frap cup on a shelf. SLOB.
My top 10 things I despise (no particular order): 1. Scalpers 2. Rude and ignorant people 3. Bees, wasps, and hornets 4. Spam calls or emails 5. Political signs and ads 6. When people don't park their cars properly. (Taking up 2 parking places at once) 7. Amber Alerts 8. Microtransactions in video games 9. People who turn their radios up so loud (loud enough the whole neighborhood can hear) 10. Shootings Honerable Mentions: 11. Cold weather 12. Ads on UA-cam 13. When fights break out at football games 14. People who can't understand the truth 15. When TV channels change good logos 16. When our favorite store or restaurant goes out of business 17. Products made in China 18. Everything has to be on streaming only 19. Unknown people who yell at you even though you're minding your own business and it's on your own property. 20. Required tests interupt your favorite music or shows on TV or Radio when you don't expect it to happen 21. Pollen 22. People who litter 23. People who vandalize
@AlbrechtAaron No actually, I'm fine with that. I'm fine with hearing the messages on the radio and TV. What irks me about Amber Alerts is the person that steals the kid.
Ok thank god! I know a lot of people who just hate the actual Amber alert notification and that pisses me off. Yes I get they're usually at night so it wakes you up but at least your kid isnt being kidnapped.
@@AlbrechtAaron Well, I don't have any children though. But, when I end up waking up hearing one on the radio in the middle of the night while I'm in bed though, my heart just pounds like crazy. I just don't get why people just don't obey the damn law.
It's funny how many you & I have in common especially when it comes to our ages. You're almost 60 & I'm almost 70. We have in common 1. Political/Religious/Relationship talkers as if you're going to change someone's opinion on anything. 2. Traffic. I've lived in SoCal my whole life so I've seen a lot of traffic especially in LA. If I'm going to a concert in LA on a Friday I leave San Diego around noon. It's only 125 or so miles depending on the venue. If you leave too late you hit the San Diego, Orange County and LA afternoon rush hour traffic and you'll be lucky to make the show on time. 3. Hot muggy weather. I don't know anyone who likes it. Where I live it doesn't get that hot very often but it does get muggy. I hate cold weather. No snow for me. 4. I don't like coffee either but it's not a big deal for me. 5. I hate rap, hip hop, country & a lot bands that many people love. 6. At my gym I only do swimming due to injuries and there are 4 lanes to swim in & sometimes there are 5-6 people who just take up 2 lanes for talking amongst each other. 7. I love my Canadian Football & ESPN & other networks televise only part of the season. I grew up when the NBA Finals were shown on tape delay at 11:30pm but that was pre-cable. 8. People who wear band shirts but no nothing about the band doesn't piss me off when it comes to Iron Maiden shirts. They're so cool and I'd get one even if I wasn't a fan. Funny story, a few years ago I saw a young lady wearing a Led Zeppelin 1977 tour shirt. I asked her if she liked the show as much as I did? She got offended & said How old do you think I am? 9. Smoking. I'm with you 100%. 10. I don't go to the theaters for movies just for those reasons plus movies are shit compared to the classics I grew up with.
I agree with everything you mentioned. As for hot humid weather i really fail to understand. Constant sweating, sleepless nights giving rise to irritation, young drivers with their 'go faster' cars blaring out c(rap) music, stingy things like wasps attacking you, neighbours deciding to have a barbeque until 3.00a.m. whilst playing c(rap) music, skin cancer, warm beer, smelly clothes etc etc.
I agree with you, Pete, on hot and humid weather. I hate it. Luckily, here in Ireland, we don't get it that often, but when we do, it's a pain, and we don't have air conditioning in our homes.
I truly wish that I were living in a less hot and humid region of the U.S. The summers, here in the Maryland/DC area, can be *brutal* . I have lived in various regions of the U.S., and two of them were/are *very* hot and humid during their very long summers. With no exaggeration, Americans who live in these areas, and don't have functioning air conditioning in their homes, sometimes die! It's actually reported on the news in the U.S.
Don't hate, that was her emotional support coffee Pete. It gets her through the times when she can't have her emotional support rap, which she listens to while making a 1 mile drive which takes 30 minutes in her Slayer shirt.
Well this one made me laugh out loud, mostly because I shared your opinion. Several of these can be grouped under ‘inconsiderate people’. Excellent ranting Pete. 😂
Now I pretty much do, but I actually back it up by buying it. Most folk SAY they like everything because in truth, they like nothing in particular. Of course most simply dont care enough...its noise. Music is now a pretty niche thing. But I like some jazz as much as I like some death metal. And that goes for a lot of stuff..the critical word here is SOME. All genres have solid state crap. I am very picky...only the good stuff. 😎
1) People who don’t know how to navigate a 4-way stop 2)people who don’t signal when turning or lane changing 3)neighbors who won’t stay out of your business 4)bad or rude service at restaurants 5)people who stink on public transit or when you’re inside and can’t get away from them 6) people who cough or sneeze and make no attempt to cover their mouth/face 7) people who double park 8) people who park in the order pick up spots at stores and then walk inside instead of getting a pick up order 9) people who don’t clean up after their pets on sidewalks or in public in general 10)people who openly talk politics, but when you challenge them or call them out on a point they blow up and get offended instead of making a counterpoint.
Thanks Pete, that was hilarious! I can totally relate to all of your picks (except good coffee and rap music, of which I like certain stuff, mostly from the late 80s/early 90s, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest etc.). But my number 1 would probably be smoking. I've been hating it since I was a kid in the 70s/80s with two smoking parents who smoked everywhere in our house (except for my room and the bathroom), even in the kitchen, which is just disgusting. Not to mention in the car, which was maybe the worst place because of its limited space. I was so glad when smoking in public places like concert venues and restaurants was finally forbidden here in Germany in the late Noughties. Having to sit next to a table with smokers in a restaurant is something I really don't miss. But even today you regularly come across smokers who don't care that you are sitting with your little kids outside a café at the table next to them. They just light a cigarette anyway, not caring that the smoke is totally bothering to non-smokers when you’re sitting outside in (not anymore) fresh air. Cigarettes stink and are just (I have to repeat myself) disgusting.
GET OFF MY LAWN! Love this episode. I agree with you with most of these. 1. I can’t stand when people talk and talk and talk during a concert. 2. People who don’t return their shopping carts! 3. Slow drivers in the fast lane. 4. People taking forever on the weight machines. 5. Reality shows 6. Bruce Springsteen 7. People who don’t know how to have a conversation. They just talk and talk and talk. 8. The summer heat here in Fresno….over 100 degrees for 3-4 months. 9. Indian food 10. Seafood
1. Cigarettes 2. Sensor activated sinks, soap, and towel dispensers 3. Glitter 4. Hot/humid weather 5. Reckless drivers who ride your ass even when you are driving well over the speed limit 6. Eggs
I hate people who walk around smelling like skunk weed all the time and act like no one can tell they've been getting high. I never got into pot but can remember when it was a sweet, non-offensive smell. I guess skunk weed is all anybody can get anymore. A woman came in the store where I work wearing a Misfits shirt. I asked her if she saw the Misfits live. She stared at me and said "who?"
I agree with your list....except for the coffee...which I love. Additionally the following: 1. Parents who don't manage their kids 2. Clutter 3. People who litter(especially cigarette butts) 4. Facebook 5. "Feliz Navidad" - José Feliciano every friggin' Christmas 6. Mall Easter Bunnies - they are creepy- every single one 7. People who tell me "everything will be ok" - that's a lie 8. Pop music 9. Preachy celebrities 10.Car dealerships
I agree with you Pete regarding gyms. I despise people who are taking 10 min between sets because they are sitting on the machines scrolling thier phones.
Funny video Pete definitely do a part 2 or honorable mentions soon. Here’s my top 10 1. Spam calls or text messages like every day I get drives me nuts. 2. Seeing Travis and Jason Kelce on tv and too many commercials 🙄 3. Rap and hip hop music can’t stand 4. Taylor Swift or the term Swifties can’t stand. 5. Politics I just don’t care at all, I like to talk about music, sports and other things I agree Pete 6. Traffic agree Pete, astonishing people still don’t know how to drive 7. People that are so drunk you can’t have a conversation or make a scene at bars or anyway in public, it’s like ughhh 8. People that text or on their phones during a concert or having phones up for that long you can’t see the stage 9. Roger Goodall NFL Commissioner 10. People who talk on the phone too loud in public places that everyone can hear
Pete, mate, great insight into who you are and I'm with you most of the way. I would never have guessed you don’t like coffee. Where I live in Australia, traffic is also a problem to the point I no longer like travelling on the road. Probably because of how fustrating driving has become, the number of aggressive drivers is on the rise making the driving experience even worse.
Brilliant Pete, I feel I know you a whole lot better & I’m glad I’m not alone in ranting for 20 minutes about crap I hate. Often wear my Led Zeppelin t shirt here in South Africa, if anyone asks they’re in for a 20 minute intro. Hot humid weather spot on, although we probably get the worst in SA here near Durban. It’s a long story.
I'm a high school teacher. A student told me she thought Nirvana was a clothing brand, had no clue they were a band. (I know you don't like Nirvana, but I imagine that would still piss you off)
When my daughter gets harassed about not knowing the band T-shirt she has on almost always knows more about the band than them whether it is Zappa Pantera Opeth Primus clutch, king diamond, annihilator and so on.
Pete, I started this video with the presumption that there would be at least one thing that I either: (A) Completely disagreed, Or (B) Did not see what the fuss was all about. But, No, I could not agree more on every single thing you said, and you said it well!
The things I can't stand the most are littering, unintelligent drivers, and people behaving like idiots both in the movie theater AND in concert venues. Like you said Pete, you are not in your living room anymore. Be considerate!

@@awesomeviper13 A lot of them do seem to follow a plot along the lines of "prince of a made-up country with British "Eton" accent pretends not to be a prince and falls in love with a pretty girl who doesn't know he's a prince but then runs away when she accidentally finds out he's a prince until, right at the end, it no longer matters that he's a prince and they fall in love". Occasionally they put the words "Prince" and "Christmas" in the title and then throw in lots of fake snow and the occasional Christmas tree in the background. Still, it keeps the wife a lot more quieter than she would be without them. Ho hum.
Hey Pete! This was fun to watch. I am with you on most of your points. A few years ago a colleague of mine was wearing a Ramones t-shirt, I asked, "Are you into the band?" He knew nothing about their music and I think he didn't even know it was a band t-shirt! Jeez! Some things I really dislike. - People constantly taking photos and videos during concerts. - People constantly talking during concerts (especially during quiet parts). - People playing music or videos at a loud volume from their phone speaker in public places. - Drivers who tail gate other drivers (annoying and dangerous!) - Drivers who desperately and dangerously pass others on the road only to turn into their final destination VERY soon after (dangerous and I don't get it). - People taking cuts in line or not giving way to others (lack of basic politeness) BTW, I don't care much for boxing but I like coffee. ;-) But I can't stand smoking either and I can't believe how I used to tolerate being in smoking bars. These days I don't last a minute in such places. :-)
I thought you would have brought up video games. I remember funny comments you've made, like grandchildren being on them too much, lol. I love video games personally, so you're comments on them stood out to me. :D fun video!
Great show.. we all have our pet hates , the key is to know that doesn't make you right or wrong. Agree with pretty much most of your list. But do love my coffee .
Good rant, Pete, I think I hate the rudeness of people who are always on their smart phones walking down the street. They don’t even see you coming and thenthey bunk into you because their so preoccupied with that. I agree with you. I guess it’s just a lack of politeness of people, I hate cigarettes, but I do enjoy my coffee, not necessarily Starbucks, which always taste like overprice burnt coffee, but I do like some different blends of coffee and besides an occasional glass of red wine those are probably my only two real vices ! OK keep up the good work
1. People who drive, especially people who drive trucks, and especially if they have a giant truck but it is always empty. I switched to bicycle only over a decade ago, and people don't look out for bicyclists. They yell at us, and sometimes try to run us off the road. 2. People obsessed with money, making it, having it, not having it. Bragging about how much they have, crying about how much they don't. 3. Advertisements. The things you need you will acquire anyhow, if they have to advertise it, it is something you don't need, and probably have no use for. It ties in to the money thing to, as they are begging for your business. 4. Strict time limits or focusing on doing everything fast. Not that everything should be delayed infinitely, but let things happen at a natural pace, and spend long enough to do things well, rather than rush to do something poorly.
Pet peeves of mine: 1. Yes, traffic, I can't stand it, but through constant coaching by my wife, I have learned to be more tolerant of it. Having a subscription to Spotify doesn't hurt either. 2. People being at ballgames but glued to their phones. Learn to live in the moment, otherwise stay home. 3. Social media - both a blessing and a curse, it amazes me how brave some people think they are insulting someone else simply because they have a difference of opinion. Also, bringing up news that first happened months ago. Repeatedly!!!! 4. Narcissists - I find that I have never gotten along with people who consistently think of themselves first, and think that their way is the ONLY way. 5. Politics - while I understand that everybody has a right to their own opinion, and has the God given right (in the US anyway) to vote how they want to vote, it does NOT give anybody else the right to put them down for their beliefs. Can we all just get along? 6. Calling someone a Nazi for their political beliefs. I studied about the Holocaust and feel deeply effected by it. Learn about it before using that term indiscriminately. 7. On a more lighthearted note: saying that sports are fixed because the outcome didn't go your way. And insisting that others change their beliefs to conform to yours. 8. People who text while driving. Very annoying and dangerous at the same time. 9. People who smoke pot in public or while riding in a car, whether they are driving or not. It infuriates me when that nasty smell comes through the vents into my vehicle. 10. Rudeness - I see it everywhere, at the gym as Pete says, on the road, in the store, walking through a train station. Kindness and courtesy do indeed go a long way.
I hear you on the gym stuff! Also, I used to visit my parents in FL. We go to the beach early and put out our stuff. There's an entire beach to sit on, but the next people that come sit right next to us!🤬
I also believe that once a movie starts, the door should be closed to people arriving late. It’s rude as hell for these latecomers to expect you to get up out of your seat just because they didn’t plan things out correctly.
Coffee? Hey, Pete! I wasn't sure about my coffee, too.Though years back... To anyone who dislikes coffee but isn't completely sure, just try "smaller" coffee. Those being: espresso (short one), small macchiato (with cold milk). Those coffees are real coffee, not tasting thin. Have a good day
I thank God that I grew up in the North Bay of the San Francisco area. We won the geographical lottery. "The more I learn about man the more I love my dogs!"
7:07 they did this study one time where they had cars spaced out and driving the speedlimit on a circular track and they STILL bunched up and had traffic 😂
Really in the age of loss of self control. Justified in worrying about other people and what they do. I have had my hands full with my own business. Good bless you if your shit is together enough to have time to sort out other peoples thoughts actions or desires. Used to call these people sages

Hi Pete ! I suggest you to come to Italy and live here for a couple of years. 🇮🇹 life quality is priceless. I love your videos, you suggested me tons on nice picks ! Grazie Pietro ! love & support
Same here dude! I despise the same things. Unfortunately I can’t control everything, but I did start putting together a home gym in 2017, and my wife and I stopped going to the movies several years ago. I try to avoid traffic as much as possible and I seriously don’t get the long-ass lines at Starbucks…total nonsense to me! Anyway, thanks for this vid. It was fun! Oh yeah, and I’m a rocker at heart so I don’t despise but I hate posers, celebrities and all those that don’t know a damn thing about rock but wear the band shirts as a fashion statement…F that!
As a gym member for over 30 years, I share your frustration. Recently had an encounter with two muscleheads who were commandeering 3 pieces of equipment but not actively using all 3. Waited 20 minutes to use one of them while it went unused. Finally, I decided to move their stuff and use it. One of them came over and said "Do you understand gym etiquette." Can't make this stuff up hahaha. I share your opinion on young people (or anyone) that wears band apparel who likely don't know anything about the artist. But the way I see it, they are at least advertising the artist, which may draw attention from other young people who may then choose to actually discover the artist's music. I have never had a cup of coffee or cigarette in my entire life. Plenty of beer though in my younger days 😂.
Mine is having my weekends consistently booked up with family obligations. Don’t get me wrong. I love my family, but it seems to be every weekend that we have to celebrate a birthday or do something. Usually it involves me paying for dinner for some sort of celebration. It would be nice to have a weekend free every once in a while.
1 The gym example was a good example! I gave up on my gym membership and joined one of those one hour circuit training gyms instead largely because I didn’t want to have to fight with waiting for a piece of equipment to open up. Problem solved; in and out in an hour! 2. Love movie theaters where you can reserve your seats ahead of time. I try to avoid the standard first come, first served movie theaters at all costs. 3. People who film entire concerts on their phones. 4. People at the supermarket or Costco/Sams who walk right in front of you with their carts and no regard for others. End of rant!
Pete, You and I have the same Top Spot. What I can't stand in a movie theater are people who have to yell out what is happening next. And they do it all the time. And also when I go to see a movie I always turn off my phone. I am the only one it seems who does this.
Totally agree about HBO boxing, grew up watching all the greats too (Chavez, Whitaker, Duran, Hagler) those were the days! Useless people at the gym 😅 been watching you for a long time Pete, nice channel 🤟🏼
I know you're a comic book fan. Have you ever read Nailbiter, it's about a town who's claim to fame is it has produced the most serial killers. One of these killers' triggers is people who talk in movies. Whole run is pretty solid.
Although I do like about 1.5% of the rap out there and I do love the hot weather, I completely agree with everything else you said, it's all so awful! Your #1 on this list hits me the most since I had worked at a movie theater for 10 years and 9 months: it does happen way too often that wild families pick seats too close to others, but it's people bringing cell phones in there that is a big no no for me! It is one of the most disrespectful things anyone can do. Please listen to Pete and DON'T DO IT!!!
As a musician, I don't like rap music when the entire song is all rap. However, I have grown to appreciate it when it is fused with regular singing on certain songs. So many of the songs from the show "Hamilton" are a great example of this; a fusion of several genres of music.
1. People that complain about 'Kids Today...", Funny they said the same thing about us (and our music) back then 2. Closed minded people who think their truth (or band) is the only and right one and everyone else is wrong 3. People who go to a famous beauty spot, block everyone out for 10 minutes to get the perfect Selfie 4. Politicians yell and spout extremes one way or the other not considering the 90% in the middle 5. Hallmark Christmas movies (especially in Summer) 6. Five months of Winter (Canada Eh...) 7. Living in the musical wasteland of Western Canada where we only get bands well past their best before date 8. People blocking the aisles & samples at Costco 9. Reality & Sitcom TV 10. The fact that it is easier to gain weight than to lose it
Pete needs another channel and needs to call it the Sea Of Rants. Great stuff
Exactly
Yes!
Sea of Rantquility 😂
1. Toddler beauty pageants
2. Relic guitars
3. Destination weddings
4. Drivers who can’t use a turn signal
5. Apps for everything
6. Mushrooms ( non hallucinogenic)
7. Not putting shopping carts away
8. Tipping culture
9. Clowns
10. Lists.
I would expand on beauty pageants and say all of the no matter their age. I remember watching one (miss America) only because I met one of the contestants due to working with her brother.
Ya can't make a list without the DAMN list .
Excellent thought, Toddler pageants should be outlawed. What kind of parent would exploit their children like that?
As to your point no 4., I think owners of German cars should launch Class Action lawsuits against the manufacturers of their vehicles, giving the clearly high failure rates in turning signal indicators on Audi, BMW and Mercedes cars.
You have to try portobello mushrooms whether sauteed or marinated then topped with stuff cheesed and baked. I com e from mushroom capital of the world
1. Today’s political climate that focuses on hate, paranoia, conspiracy theories and anger
2. Most modern country/pop music
3. Bad drivers
4. Waiting in any sort of line or waiting room
5. Dealing with people I work with who don't know how to do their job
6. Sweet Potatoes
7. My ice maker that stops working every four to six weeks
8. Cold/cool days in June…and warm days in December
9. Shopping for and trying on clothes
10. Amber alerts
Honorable mentions....when guys use the term "Bro" and people who video tape a whole live concert on their phone.
I love sweet potatoes.....😢
Modern country is awful! I don't know if it's the modern production that just doesn't lend itself to country or the sickly sweet, family-friendly vibes of it. Everything I've heard feels extremely generic. And no. 9, yes, clothes are a huge nuisance. When I finally find something that fits, is comfy and looks decent, it's a gift from the Gods that I hang onto for dear life.
#6...THANK YOU...they are the worst
Jamie...great list that I'm completely on board with however, I love a baked sweet potato with some butter. Sweet and savory and (w/o the butter) they're very good for you with all the vitamins/minerals and some protein too. Can't wait for the next Monster's Den. (PS - our ice maker died a year ago...never fixed it)
Webb in ATL
We know you a little better. Lol. Nice Pete 👍💯
Stuff I hate:
1. Narcissists - people taking selfies of themselves or photos of what's on their dinner plates for social media.
2. Social media
3. Camera phones at live concerts - "I am recording my life to watch it all later on."
4. Political extremists - on the left or right, and the arguments that take place in public between those groups.
5. Rap music ("ditto")
6. Rudeness - walking down the street with a phone in your hand not looking where you are going, not holding a door open for the person behind you.
7. Baggy jeans - that make kids look like they've pooped themselves with the crotch down at knee level!
8. Reality TV shows - all of them (It can't be "reality" if there's a camera right in front of you filming it anyway, you're still acting!)
9. Wearing baseball caps backwards.
10. Anyone who calls themself an "influencer" on UA-cam.
UA-cam is social media, and anyone who’s dismissive of entire genres can’t be taken seriously.
When I would wear my baseball cap backwards is only to keep it on when the wind is blowing bad and need to keep it on till I can turn it back around.
I like Obituary but don't know a single song title.
The same goes for people wearing sports jerseys as a fashion statement, but no rooting interest in the team or sport.
Coffee Drinking,Cinema Talk, Motley Crue and Shirts to Mock
But Pete Didn’t Start the fire, it was always burning since the worlds been turning, Pete didn’t light it but he tried to fight it”
People that say Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, etc haven’t been good since the ‘70’s, but admit to not listening to anything from these bands in 20/30 years.
Well, I've heard enough new Alice to prefer his classic stuff so the newer stuff does very little for me except for maybe Dirty Diamonds though that was back to the roots anyway.
Pete brings back The Rant!
My favourite!!!!!!!
Actually Last Temptation and Brutal Planet are excellent Alice Cooper albums.
The best Alice Cooper album is Brutal Planet. It's a masterpiece.
@redcat9436 Brutal Planet is greatest Bible thumping song of all time. Last Temptation is the best album Cooper has done, outside of Killer, Love it to death, and Billion dollar Babies.
Funny thing about life, you reach middle age, we embrace the cranky old person, and love it
I’m a member at our local art house theatre and they have a zero tolerance policy for people interrupting the show in any way. I’ve complained a couple times about people using their phones during the movie and each time the staff asked them to leave. No warnings…it’s beautiful.
I need to go this theatre from now on!
It's the way all theaters should be! It's a movie, not a hangout/funhouse!
Does it sell Japanese slime candy and Bulgarian wheat balls?
A special one time showing of Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal also now has phone cell idiots? "Yea, yea, I'm in the theater. It's just The Seventh Seal. What? So what time do you want me there? No problem. What? Oh, this guy is playing chess with death or something." Get out! 🤣
There was a guy in the school playground wearing an AC/DC shirt , I asked him do you like Saxon ? " never heard of them " was his reply, end of conversation
I can relate......fairweather music fans,...only know radio crap.
Ramones, Kiss, Stones, most of people wearing it don't even know they are a band lol
Corporate Radio and especially Classic Rock FM Radio. They play a 30 song rotation of mostly GnR, Crazy Train, Led Zep, and Tom Sawyer
30 songs if you're lucky and in a small market they'll further dilute it with the safest more recent Rock picks they can think of. You'd think Satellite radio would remind programmers oh yeah, people like album tracks and live stuff for Rock too don't they? but it never happens.
Ted Nugent interviews. If he talks about his music it's his last priority
That's a good list, but I just want to thank the people who came up with this bit of Internet Wisdom:
"Things I'm No Longer Interested In:
1. Driving at Night
2. Leaving my house at night
3. Driving in the winter
4. Leaving the house in winter
5. Driving
6. Leaving the house"
I think it's called common decency and manners Pete .
People who can't say please and thank you.
Their too busy on their phones 👎👎!!
It’s wild, right? Two phrases, in any language, will immediately grant you some social credit and help you get what you want. But some people can’t even do that much.
@RealJeffTidwell Yes its very sad have a great weekend take care
Neighbours with barking dogs.
Neighbours whose kids have a trampoline.
Neighbours with teens endlessly bouncing a basketball.
Neighbours whose entire music collection is autotuned pop.

I work in a store where people used to ask questions with words. Nowadays they just push phones in your face with or without a sentence. I hate that.
Oh yeah, I used to have to deal with that kind of crap all the time. Communication is a lost art in the 21st century.
That's just rude.
Hilarious! You had my coffee coming out my nose!☕️😂
I spilled cigarette ashes in my coffee
the coffee thing is wild to me, like someone saying they hate pizza.
Hey Pete, the only traffic I like is the rock band
Pete, you could have named this the " Get off my lawn segment." I loved it and agree with you for most of it.
Mobiles at concerts, Air Travel, Kids in Pubs, E-Scooters, Virtue Signallers, All Politicians(obviously), People who try to get on the subway before you get off, Coldplay to name but a few. The list gets longer the older I get of course.....
Love coffee! Coffee yogurt, coffee ice cream, coffee candles, coffee candies, etc. ;-)
Agree 100% on the wannabe-yuppies with the Starbux cups. This irks me - I'm at Petsmart & somebody ditched their $7 Frap cup on a shelf. SLOB.
My top 10 things I despise (no particular order):
1. Scalpers
2. Rude and ignorant people
3. Bees, wasps, and hornets
4. Spam calls or emails
5. Political signs and ads
6. When people don't park their cars properly. (Taking up 2 parking places at once)
7. Amber Alerts
8. Microtransactions in video games
9. People who turn their radios up so loud (loud enough the whole neighborhood can hear)
10. Shootings
Honerable Mentions:
11. Cold weather
12. Ads on UA-cam
13. When fights break out at football games
14. People who can't understand the truth
15. When TV channels change good logos
16. When our favorite store or restaurant goes out of business
17. Products made in China
18. Everything has to be on streaming only
19. Unknown people who yell at you even though you're minding your own business and it's on your own property.
20. Required tests interupt your favorite music or shows on TV or Radio when you don't expect it to happen
21. Pollen
22. People who litter
23. People who vandalize
Amber alerts? Someone's kid is missing and you're annoyed by a notification on your phone?
Sensationalism in social media. Making up stories or scenarios that havent even happened. Creating feuds that dont exist.
1. Rudeness, 2. Coffee, 3. Commercials, 4.talking to someone and getting completely ignored, 5. Traffic, 6. Rap Music 7. Tornadoes, 8. Whining, 9. Washing dishes, 10. Marshmallows and celery
Heh. Old Pete yells at cloud.
Good stuff.
1. People that say, they listening to all kind of music
I think Pete's just too decent and polite to be able to do the grumpy old man rant
Nice! I enjoyed your rant. I live in Central Jersey & traffic BLOWS! Also can't stand the smell of cigarettes! Thanks for ranting. I'm with ya!
People stopping to chat in the supermarket and blocking up the aisles
How about self-checkout? I want to use a checker and there are only 2 lanes open.
Man, I absolutely dig your shirt. Zombie('79) is my #2 horror movie!
Everybody hates traffic! The band shirt thing drives me nuts!
5. Reality shows
6. Bruce Springsteen
7. People who don’t know how to have a conversation. They just talk and talk and talk.
8. The summer heat here in Fresno….over 100 degrees for 3-4 months.
9. Indian food
10. Seafood
With the exception of coffee I dislike everything else thanks Pete.🎶🎤🎸🎸🎹🥁🎶
1. Cigarettes
2. Sensor activated sinks, soap, and towel dispensers
3. Glitter
4. Hot/humid weather
5. Reckless drivers who ride your ass even when you are driving well over the speed limit
Additionally the following:
1. Parents who don't manage their kids
2. Clutter
3. People who litter(especially cigarette butts)
4. Facebook
5. "Feliz Navidad" - José Feliciano every friggin' Christmas
6. Mall Easter Bunnies - they are creepy- every single one
7. People who tell me "everything will be ok" - that's a lie
8. Pop music
9. Preachy celebrities
10.Car dealerships
Yep, pushy and/or dishonest car salesmen, definitely
You gotta hear Bob Rivers' parody of Feliz Navidad though, called Police Stop My Car. It's hilarious! All of Rivers' parody songs are funny.
Everything will be ok
That's one of the more pardonable overplayed holiday hits. The one I never want to hear again is Jingle Bell Rock!
I agree with you Pete regarding gyms. I despise people who are taking 10 min between sets because they are sitting on the machines scrolling thier phones.
Funny video Pete definitely do a part 2 or honorable mentions soon. Here’s my top 10
1. Spam calls or text messages like every day I get drives me nuts.
2. Seeing Travis and Jason Kelce on tv and too many commercials 🙄
3. Rap and hip hop music can’t stand
4. Taylor Swift or the term Swifties can’t stand.
5. Politics I just don’t care at all, I like to talk about music, sports and other things I agree Pete
6. Traffic agree Pete, astonishing people still don’t know how to drive
7. People that are so drunk you can’t have a conversation or make a scene at bars or anyway in public, it’s like ughhh
8. People that text or on their phones during a concert or having phones up for that long you can’t see the stage
9. Roger Goodall NFL Commissioner
(I know you don't like Nirvana, but I imagine that would still piss you off)
That was me in middle school. I thought AC/DC was a T-shirt brand.
Love it Pete and I agree with them all!

When my daughter gets harassed about not knowing the band T-shirt she has on almost always knows more about the band than them whether it is Zappa Pantera Opeth Primus clutch, king diamond, annihilator and so on.
A sign you raised her right
Pete, I started this video with the presumption that there would be at least one thing that I either: (A) Completely disagreed, Or (B) Did not see what the fuss was all about. But, No, I could not agree more on every single thing you said, and you said it well!
The things I can't stand the most are littering, unintelligent drivers, and people behaving like idiots both in the movie theater AND in concert venues. Like you said Pete, you are not in your living room anymore. Be considerate!
Takes me back to the 1960s, network TV would show big time boxing matches on Saturday and Sunday .
Things I Despise
10: Syrup on pancakes and waffles, etc.
9: Hallmark Christmas movies/Hallmark movies in general
8:Funerals( I don't like going to them it makes me feel emotional when I'm thrre)
7: Basketball
6: PeoplebeingJudgemental( I hate when people Criticize something u like or dislike. It's ok to have your own opinions, but when people are rude about it, like to talk shit about it or just make fun of someone because they like something. It doesn't make it ok. I always say the same thing Pete says: "Every day when someone doesn't like a song or topic I like, they don't." I always say people listen or like things differently. There's no right or wrong answer)
5: People talking or singing to a song when I'm trying to listen to music at work or in public.
4: People constantly get up during a concert or wrestling/sports event.(I feel it's rude when people do this like when I'm trying to watch something live I can't stand when people get up during every match or song and keep going to the bathroom or smoke. Like why don't they just sit down when there's an intermission or when it's over or before u arrive.
3: Talking during a movie.
2: Rude Customers(I work at Donut Place, and when I be nice to them and they get rude because no apparent reason I can't stand it)
1: This Generations Music (Mostly The Rap and nonsense these singers gave been playing)
"9: Hallmark Christmas movies/Hallmark movies in general"
Please have pity on me. The wife has just started her annual Hallmark Christmas movie binge and I expect her to be done somewhere around next Easter.
Totally in common with you from 1 - 9. As far as #10, try REAL maple syrup (yeah I’m from Canada), not that Aunt Jemima fake crap or Pearl Milling Co. or whatever they call that high fructose corn syrup crap now.
@terrydaktyllus1320 try all year long my mom always has them on 24/7 and I tell her they're all the same
@@awesomeviper13 A lot of them do seem to follow a plot along the lines of "prince of a made-up country with British "Eton" accent pretends not to be a prince and falls in love with a pretty girl who doesn't know he's a prince but then runs away when she accidentally finds out he's a prince until, right at the end, it no longer matters that he's a prince and they fall in love".
- Drivers who tail gate other drivers (annoying and dangerous!)
- Drivers who desperately and dangerously pass others on the road only to turn into their final destination VERY soon after (dangerous and I don't get it).
- People taking cuts in line or not giving way to others (lack of basic politeness)
BTW, I don't care much for boxing but I like coffee. ;-) But I can't stand smoking either and I can't believe how I used to tolerate being in smoking bars. These days I don't last a minute in such places. :-)
I thought you would have brought up video games. I remember funny comments you've made, like grandchildren being on them too much, lol. I love video games personally, so you're comments on them stood out to me. :D fun video!
Yeah, I am NOT a fan of video games either!
Great show.. we all have our pet hates , the key is to know that doesn't make you right or wrong. Agree with pretty much most of your list. But do love my coffee .
Pete, one of the things I hate most is people who wanna talk about the dump they took yesterday lol love the video made me chuckle several times
OK keep up the good work
13:29 is actually the reason for why I watch movies at home
Ha-ha, your rant about people in the movie theater reminded me of that Alice Cooper song, "It's the Little Things (that drive me wild)" 🤫
5:52 so funny, I love coffee but hate people holding the cup looking smug.
Pet peeves of mine:
This is the funniest video I've seen in a very long time but I get what you're saying Pete. I hate traffic too.
😂 great video Pete i sat here nodding in agreement with you, i must be turning into a grumpy old man lol . All the best from Rob in the UK.
I hear you on the gym stuff! Also, I used to visit my parents in FL. We go to the beach early and put out our stuff. There's an entire beach to sit on, but the next people that come sit right next to us!🤬
I agree with many of those but especially the movie theater part.
I also hate it when people won't shut up during a concert/band playing.
I also believe that once a movie starts, the door should be closed to people arriving late. It’s rude as hell for these latecomers to expect you to get up out of your seat just because they didn’t plan things out correctly.
I don't know why, but I laughed my a** off. Thanks Pete for the short soliloquy!
Coffee?
I'm with you on the smoking, coffee, traffic, rap music, talking during movies, and people wearing band shirts of bands they aren't familiar with!
Love the coffee and caffeine take. It’s a small island of us people that don’t partake.
7:07 they did this study one time where they had cars spaced out and driving the speedlimit on a circular track and they STILL bunched up and had traffic 😂
here is the greatest joke - ask me if I have HBO? no, I have regular BO
People that say there’s no new good music and you ask what they’ve heard that they don’t like and they can’t name an example.
Really in the age of loss of self control. Justified in worrying about other people and what they do.
I have had my hands full with my own business. Good bless you if your shit is together enough to have time to sort out other peoples thoughts actions or desires.
Used to call these people sages
Maybe spend some time living so you really have things to justify your anger. Sorry people are doing it wrong. Thanks for the answers.
Watch who you take your cues from
That was awesome Pete. Can feel your pain the way you described that stuff 🤣
Apparently the bass player, Jeff Berlin, is a big boxing fan too.
as is bret michaels and my friend todd
Get stuck in Poughkeepsie on the way back from shepherding teenagers at a concert (Babymetal) in NYC - Teenagers making you go to Babymetal 😅
Amen!
Totally hate traffic as well, its noisey, which is why I loved lock down, it was so much more peaceful.
“The dump I took yesterday”. 😂😂😂
Totally agree about HBO boxing, grew up watching all the greats too (Chavez, Whitaker, Duran, Hagler) those were the days! Useless people at the gym 😅 been watching you for a long time Pete, nice channel 🤟🏼
In Ireland we just used to fall around and vomit at the weekend. Now, we carry those same cups and seldom barf in public. It's a sad scene.
I know you're a comic book fan. Have you ever read Nailbiter, it's about a town who's claim to fame is it has produced the most serial killers. One of these killers' triggers is people who talk in movies. Whole run is pretty solid.
Not liking the smell of coffee is like not liking Lerxt's solo in "Limelight". ☝️
This was lots of fun, thanks Pete! 👍
I hear you ! I agree ! I checked all boxes! Except boxing, Im a football fan.
1. People that complain about 'Kids Today...", Funny they said the same thing about us (and our music) back then
2. Closed minded people who think their truth (or band) is the only and right one and everyone else is wrong
3. People who go to a famous beauty spot, block everyone out for 10 minutes to get the perfect Selfie
4. Politicians yell and spout extremes one way or the other not considering the 90% in the middle
5. Hallmark Christmas movies (especially in Summer)
6. Five months of Winter (Canada Eh...)
7. Living in the musical wasteland of Western Canada where we only get bands well past their best before date
8. People blocking the aisles & samples at Costco
9. Reality & Sitcom TV
10. The fact that it is easier to gain weight than to lose it
Yep.You nailed it all.
