    I might have to go to MCO for business in Feb. (23) and I saw that they fly this bird between those cities! SHOCK! lol. I might take the Delta option just to fly the 767 even for just a while, to add to my "jet list". Instead of AA out of my closest airport.
    Unfortunately, I haven't gotten as many as i would like checked off the list! Great review, Thanks!

    Thanks for pointing out a few of Delta's many flaws. When I was a student at Morehouse during the 60's I took the train, bus or plane between Orlando and Atlanta when student standby 1/2 fares were offered. Competing Greyhound and Trailways began offering fast non-stop bus service between Orlando and Atlanta after I-75 was completed while overnight connecting train service took much longer and was coming to The End.

      Not everyone is perfect, and Delta is certainly no exception to that rule. Most of my flying has been with delta, and 95% of the time, everything runs great, but there's always those few times where things just seem to keep going wrong. Oh, I have a side question for you! As a former Amtrak conductor, do you have any recommendations of things to see and do at major stations around the northeast and Chicago? I'm taking a trip based almost exclusively around Amtrak to gather footage for this channel, and some insider information on cool things to add would be great! I already plan on checking out the lounges at Moynihan, Boston South, Washington DC, and Chicago. I'm doing my best to cover every service type in the region, whether that be Coach, Business on both Regionals and Acelas, Acela First class, and trying to catch a ride on the new Venture coaches, but if you know of anything that would be cool to see, do let me know!

      @@LonestarTrips I'm thinking now and will be in touch. The Postal Museum in the old Post Office across the street from Union Station in DC is worth a visit. I think tracks to the old Post Office are still there, but I'm not sure if they are in use.

      @@samtrak1204 Sounds good! I don't leave until the 28th of June, so no rush if you have other things to take care of.

      I'm from then old school when Delta meant stop notch service and its first class Crown service was the best offered by any domestic airline

      @@LonestarTrips Thanks for this trip report. I usually travel by Amtrak but when I flew Delta always were some of my best flights. As for things to see or do around Northeast train stations and Chicago there is plenty to see or do in both Philadelphia and Chicago. In the case of my city, Philadelphia there is a feature some people are not aware of. SEPTA the operator of our transit and regional commuter trains offers Amtrak passengers a free ride from 30th street station to our two downtown area commuter stations. While other than the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel campus there is not much to visit around 30th street station. But if you make use of the free ride on the SEPTA commuter trains to the Jefferson station you will be at a major center city mall with many stores and restaurants to choose from. You also are within walking distance of many of the historic sites in the downtown area.

    Absolutely fantastic video! Loved the trip report! That’s so cool that you got to fly on the 767-300ER! I once flew a -322ER with United (N659UA) from Houston IAH to Denver DEN and it was awesome! It’s so cool that you get to fly so frequently! And it’ll be INSANE to fly the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from here to Amsterdam AMS! I actually was at AUS planespotting when the inaugural flight of KLM’s AMS-AUS route landed! It was so cool! I have a video on my channel of the landing, feel free to watch if you’d like! :) Anyway, it’s really cool how you get to fly so often and fly such cool aircraft to absolutely astounding destinations! This summer I’ll actually be staying at a Hyatt Regency - not the one at MCO though, but rather the one at DFW. It rests on top of one of DFW’s terminals, and is literally located in the center of DFW, offering a fantastic view! I’ll also be flying from Austin AUS to Washington IAD with United Airlines on their Airbus A319, and then later to Hilton Head Island HHH on a GoJet Airlines Bombardier CRJ-550 doing business under the United Express brand. I’ll then drive up to Charlotte and fly Charlotte CLT to Atlanta ATL with Delta Airlines on one of their Boeing 717-200 “Angry Puppy” aircraft. I’m super excited about that seeing as the 717-200 is my second favorite aircraft of all time, the first being the stretched version: the McDonnell Douglas MD-88 “Mad Dog”. Anyway, I’ll then fly Atlanta ATL back home to Austin AUS with Delta on one of their Airbus A321-200 aircraft. Have you flown on all of those aircraft? If so, do you have trip reports on them? Anyway, fantastic video and really awesome that you got the opportunity to fly that beautiful bird! Keep up the great work! 🙂

      Sounds like you’ve got some awesome flights ahead of you! Next week’s video is gonna be a flight on Delta’s Flagship A350-900 from LAX to ATL. I was fortunate enough to incorporate that route into my travels, and I have to say the A350 is an incredible aircraft! Plus I flew in comfort plus, when ended up being Premium Select on that route, so way more than I ended up paying for.

    I'm gonna have to correct you there, Delta announced that they would cancel there 767-300ER retirement plans for 2025, stating that they will be in the fleet beyond that year.

    Excellent trip report on one of my hard-to-get aircraft types! Just now getting to know your channel, love the train content as well! Check out the beginning footage of my JFK-MCI jetBlue trip report :)

      Thanks for stopping by, and I'm glad you enjoyed! I was doing my best to cover the main widebodies that fly domestically in the US while out on my travels, and the 767 was one of the more difficult ones to catch. My personal favorite of those flights is set to go live in about two weeks, where I flew on Delta's Flagship A350 from LAX to Atlanta. I don't think Delta is flying the A350 on that route anymore, so I was glad to have gotten to experience it while I could!

    Was there not an IFE screen in the lower part of the armrest?

    I find that reclining the Delta coach seats does not improve their comfort as the seat pivots in the middle of your back. With all that leg room you had, why would you encroach on the space of the passenger behind you?

    • @LonestarTrips
      @LonestarTrips  2 роки тому +5

      I find that they do improve the comfort a bit, and I don’t think I had anyone seated directly behind me, so no issues there. But that being said, I did pay for the seat, so I see no reason why I shouldn’t be able to use the full extent of its features? Granted, I would be more inclined to recline less, or not at all if there was someone behind me, but we all have the same seats and thus can all use them how we like.

      They advertise the 4" recline as a selling point.
