RDR voice acting was his saving grace, as it is for a lot of Rockstar Voice Actors- but, like most Rockstar Voice Actors, they never get additional roles after working for the company. CJ never obtained additional Voice Roles, Niko Bellic's VA also never really worked after GTA IV. Even in GTA V, only the Trevor VA obtained some additional big-time work after the fact. It's the Rockstar curse.

rockstar have a great eye and casting for their VA’s. So many characters in their games are memorable and often the great voice acting contributes to that.

They could not have possibly found a better voice actor for John. Especially because this guys mannerisms are exactly how John is as a character, so he’s even more of a natural fit for the role and it really shows. There is quite literally not another guy on planet earth they could’ve casted to play John marston the voice alone is fantastic let alone everything else Rob brings to the table that makes the character whole.
One of the best lines in video games done by John Marston: "If you ever find yourself in a hole, best thing to do is stop digging." Its been decades, and I've NEVER forgotten that one.
