If it’s the battery it’ll show charging but never turn on. If it’s tristar it’s completely dead. Other things can cause it to be dead, but if you don’t detect any shorts then it’s the prime candidate.
Oh, Ben, thanks for your movie again. Replacing the Tristar is nice, but the best part is, how do you know replacing the tristar will solve your problem. Why not the connector or pmic like others. You say it’s drawing 005 and connect to USB (a tristar failure could also cause an ‘not connect to USB’). That’s the information I’am waiting for, but I like to know more. Just like the resistor of the iP8+ backlight. It’s not about how to do it (but always nice to see :) ), it’s how to know what to do.

Tristar tester is your friend, you can know in less than 20 seconds.

what temperature you use to heat ipad to take screen off, havent seen this technique before, very fast, takes me a bit more to take screen off.
