>>Who said anything about "need"? Professionals. You MUST brake with right foot in real car. If you drive manual, you move your left foot to clutch pedal only when you need to shift, all the other time it should be in the rest zone. If you drive automatic, your left foot should ALWAYS be in the rest zone, and you press both pedals with your right foot. This is the only right and the safest position for everyday driving. Reason - if extreme situation appears, the rest zone helps you keep your body steady. In a racing car you don't need it because seat belts are strong enough to hold your body absolutely moveless, but in a passenger car it isn't, so using the rest zone is necessary.
How talented was Colin McRae that he was doing a fucking interview while driving a car that at the time was still new to him while going balls out. Fucking unreal.
+ewesey Yes true but the gears are turning at a different speed from the engine. And the car needs matching speeds on both in order perform a smooth gear change. At those speeds it is impossible to rev match.
+velizar vasev Because these vehicles use sequential gearboxes that often have an ignition cut built into them the clutch never needs to be used in upshifting apart from starting in first gear. When downshifting the dog clutches in the gearbox require a quick blip of the throttle in order to release and mesh with the new gear. You'll notice that he blips the throttle when changing down.
It's a dogbox, like a bike. No need for the clutch in between gears, though you'll need to blip the throttle when downshifting, like Sam Russel explained.

In a racing car you don't need it because seat belts are strong enough to hold your body absolutely moveless, but in a passenger car it isn't, so using the rest zone is necessary.
in colins hay day all cars were front wheel drive do a bit of research
Colin Mcrae is a legend, snd that interviewer was really good. She remained calm and collected and polite throughout the track.
Simple as this! :D
Colin McRae what a driver! First On Race Day.
Props to the interviewer too. They are both so calm and relaxed.

21 f-1 drivers disliked it
what an idiot. lots of f1 drivers have been successful in rally
@@nanderlizernanderlizer684 like who? Raikkonen?
How talented was Colin McRae that he was doing a fucking interview while driving a car that at the time was still new to him while going balls out. Fucking unreal.
why isn't he using the clutch to shift
+velizar vasev also what i was thinking? maybe he's just that good at matching revs? something that is possible
+ewesey its sequential
It's a dogbox, like a bike. No need for the clutch in between gears, though you'll need to blip the throttle when downshifting, like Sam Russel explained.
All that and still finds time to throw a cheeky flirt her way. A class act and true professional.
I always brake with my left foot
+scr34m1ng do you drive an automatic?
ewesey yep
lol same as my sister. first time i discover she use left foot for braking, im mad as fuck and told her to use right foot to brake. but after 1 year, i dont care anymore. she's good with it lul
Aslong as she's only planning on driving automatics that's fine, otherwise it's a terrible thing to get used too as an everyday driver.
+zoey margera I'm surprised she got her license
his driving is such an art
