I was lucky enough to see Yasmine Naghdi perform Aurora last year when I was in London. I scored a last minute seat near the orchestra on opening night. I also was able to watch her rehearse the Rose adagio 2 days before opening night on a tour of the Royal Opera house. Amazing experience!
I saw the Swan Lake live screening too and loved it! I had the pleasure of watching the two of them do Giselle and Romeo and Juliet together and they were stunning in those as well. Always love these videos from you
I love your commentary!! Yasmine's dancing was so fresh! There was something very ethereal and flawless about her... I wonder, though, if it can last the whole ballet and keep my interest. I love dancers that leave a little room for a "human" movement. Like Osipova, she's not perfect all the time but she brings the character so well onto the stage!
I learn so much every time I watch one of these. Hearing your perspective and being able to see it in slow motion, you can really see all those details! It’s an experience unlike any other! Ahhh! And the alignment!!!! Thank you for sharing!❤
I saw Yasmin and Matthew at swan lake in the cinema, it was gorgoeeeees! Actually my first live performance ever, genuinely, it was such an amazing experience, they dancing and acting were so good. Got to the cinema right after class, I still had my ballet bun on and my pointe shoes drying out on my seat😅 I love this deconstructions, they helped me so much. My jumps are a lot better since your Natalia Osipovas jumps video. Thank u Katie 🫶🏻
Thanks so much for deconstructing 👍 I was privileged to see Yasmine Naghdi & Matthew Ball do this at the ROH and have never ever been able to see Bluebird since without remembering how AMAZING they were. (Now that they are principals, am sad we won't see them dance this together again at the Royal Ballet.)
I too saw the two of them in the Swan Lake screening last week and they were mesmerising. 😍 I absoutely love these deconstruction videos. So much to learn for my own dancing and it makes me enjoy watching other performances even more. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! ❤
Always fascinating to see Katie deconstruct the great ballets 😁❤️ Especially such beautiful dancers. The Royal Ballet is my favorite company in the world ❤🩰
Loved watching this! Also so nice to get the guy’s techniques deconstructed too. Would love you to do Sylvie Guillem’s Manon- so many great PDDs in that. My favourite are the bedroom and swamp ones.
Thank you for doing this - I've watched that video of that variation so many times because they are just so beautiful. Loved the very final flutter of Matthew's hand in that last lift, too, as he brings his hand down to finish the pose. I'd say do more of these with the RB but I am biased and very lucky to have been able to watch them perform on stage for real. Well worth the ticket price if you're ever in the UK!
I totally agree, I flew from Italy a couple of times to see Royal Ballet and it was an incredible experience, they are such good actors that you forget you are seeing ballet and you are transported in an other world. And such perfect technique. Also thank you Katie for these videos, they are jewels for ballet lovers.
please can you do this for lilac fairy i have competition in 1,5 month and im gonna make it in classical category i need that a lot🙏🏻🙏🏻sorry for my english
So excited to see this posted!! I had no clue about fairytale and the context that the male dancer is the Bluebird and not the female. I love learning about the narratives of this stunning art! Thank you 💙✨
I love this series!!!! Can you please do the Swan Lake pas de deux (Lopatkina & Korsunteev), Manon bedroom pas de deux (Sarah Lamb & Vadream), Mayerling pas de deux (Sarah Lamb & Steve McRae), Swan Lake pas de deux act IV (Nela & Vadream)🫶🏻🫶🏻🥹🥹🥹💖💖
I remember your bluebird variation online class. Is that still available to purchase? I had done black swan, and Lilac Fairy. I Loved this Video So Much.🤗💝
I’m not sure how it would work with UA-cam rules but the royal opera house has a streaming service that shows their back catalogue, including a previous Swan Lake with Yasmine (as well as a Marianela version of almost everything). If it’s not breaking UA-cam rules, you could grab the footage there to react to.
I took notes! I have a big part for Romeo & Juliet that involves partnering, and I am trying to get as many tips as possible! Thank you again for these wonderful videos!!! 💙
I love this series so much! It'd be amazing if you could maybe do the Nutcracker Pas de deux by Salome Leverashvili and Constantine Allen at some point, the full video is on UA-cam
There are a couple of wonderful videos of Bluebird pas on YT. Antoinette Sibley and Brian Shaw ( 1960’s) and Jennifer Penney and Wayne Eagling ( 1970’s) Both Royal Ballet
I’d LOVE for you to analyze Akane Takada’s black swan pas de deux. I believe there’s a full version uploaded in a compilation by “The Royal Ballet Fan.” The video is called “Akane Takada ~ The Royal Ballet”
I have been enjoying these videos, I find them informative interesting and enjoyable. I am however curious why you got kicked out of the Ballet company ? No judgement here sister, we are all human with flaws. You channel is brilliant, and you are beautiful. 🙏💙
Thank you for your compliments! To clarify, I was not kicked out of a ballet company. I chose to leave. I got very ill at New York City Ballet and chose to put my health first. And for Miami, I danced for a season and left to put my mental health first. The ballet world is very tough, and I’m grateful I can dance and make a living on my own terms. ❤️
@@kathryn_morgan Sorry, I got it wrong. Good for you navigating your difficulties and coming out on top. Truly enjoy the expertise you share in your videos. And sorry again for getting it wrong about you’re reasons for leaving. The company. 🙏💙
@@kathryn_morgan Hey Kathryn. I saw Swan Lake a couple of weeks ago with Yasmine. I did not really like the version of the story they did. However “Oh my god” Yasmine was so wonderful, so grateful and beautiful. Michael was also a true force. The finale was so powerful atmospheric and moved me to tears. I love your breakdowns and have learned so much 🙏💙
You could literally publish any frame of that footage as a photo. Every time you stopped it,a perfect pose.
So nice to see some Matthew Ball appreciation! It's rare and it's a pity 'cause I really love him 🩵
Missed your regular videos! This is a wonderful deconstruction. Thank you for being willing to provide free content in addition to your membership!
Thank you!
Missed you Katie! Glad to see you’re looking radiant and doing well! Great video 🩵

Kathyn, this balletomane appreciates your analysis videos. Thank you.
Love all your deconstructed videos!❤
A joy to watch and learn. 😍
I've seen Jasmine and Mark live on stage in the Sleeping Beauty. They're really special, each in their own way. The evening I was there she was Aurora

Antoinette SIBLEY and Brian SHAW.

As a ballet enthusiast I love these break downs. Also if you look at his makeup you can tell that he is the bird.

Is it me or does it look like hast forward when he's turning her in penché?
Have you watched Darcy Bussel coach pdd on utube?
Yes, I was gonna say that.
You look Gorgeous in everything Kathryn 😍
Bluebird is my favorite part of Sleeping Beauty.
Katie❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Matthew is one of my favourite male ballet dancers to watch . He is sublime . Why males get away w sloppy arm placement and hands
Yes, he has the best port de bras.
I have been enjoying these videos, I find them informative interesting and enjoyable.
