My favorite is 가지마! ! Prof. OH... 정말 감사합니다 for this kwow! I Loved LOVED LOVED the "equations" for conjugating the verbs! I really needed that! Please do more conjugating segments w KWoW! ♥
Please accept my SINCERE thanks for covering so many overlooked bases in such detail. A lot of the sites I use to learn just blow right by any and all explanations (like Duolingo). I was just thinking about this topic today. I really appreciate your help.
I've been following your videos for a long time even though I didn't start learning Korean until recently. Guess I have to go back and re-watch them all (:
Dear Professor Oh, Love your stuff. I've been in Korea for several years and still struggle with the language. Your videos help tremendously. Having both context, pronunciation, English translation and Hanguel makes it really easy to learn new words and phrases for both listening and speaking. And they're funny, too. :) Keep up the great work. Kiss noise, Marty
Your videos are creative, cue, and entertaining. Thank you so much for creating such informative videos! My husband is Korean American and I want to communicate more with his family, however he doesn't teach me much of anything. Thanks KWOW, you are the best!!!
The first which came to my mind immediately was "bbongjijima" by Key in Star Golden Bell XDD I hope it's written correctly cause I only had him saying this & the hangul of it as guideline =D
Yeah, it's just difficult because I already learned all of these requests from ttmik and it would really help to learn more vocabulary. That way, put together, both kwow and ttmik compliment each other. Anyway, I still love watching these videos and I will be really sad when they're over. It'd be great if ttmik and kwow teamed up and made a video one day. And I will definitely check out HanGhoul!
Hajima is my favorite - now that you've clearly explaind it, since I'm learning from America. I hear Suga say it all the time, I understand his struggle and frustration all those Run BTS episodes now! Suga said "Hajima!" in background to V and JK while BTS was accepting award at AMA's in December 2021.
Dear Professor Oh, I use both your videos and the talktomeinkorean website/youtube page to learn Korean. However, there isn't enough vocabulary on the talktomeinkorean site. There's plenty of information and I can do all types conjugations and what not but I always really looked forward to learning new vocabulary from you. Both sites used to compliment each other. So please, more vocabulary words! 더 말 가르치주세요! 감사합니다.
I really love this I only have 3 Korean challenges I watch to help me and you helped me alot and this video even helped me more ILy SM!!🥺🥺🤭❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😋😋😋🌹🌹🌹🤞🤞🤞😁😁😁😁😊😊😊😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗😄😄😄🙂🙂🙂🙃🙃🙃😌😌
Finally I find a video on it. After hearing it on that one show with the little kids and it's called superhero something idek but I've been binge watching it.
Thanks for the explanation! I wish some how it were less complicated because I'd like to learn Korean. Is going to be easier to learn to understand Korean then it is to speak it properly.
hello kwow!!! I was wondering, you guys teach us a lot of vocab words but it would be nice if you could teach us some basic sentences with out the vocab so we can make our own for example "this is a"
선생 님 i hope you can teach us more,im looking for your newest video but i failed. i hope you can teach us tenses of verbs and how to conjugate those verbs. :(
My favorite would be 가지마/ 울지마! It's probably the first expressions that I understood from K-Pop & K-Drama. Can you make a K-Wow about common Korean expressions for every day life?
watching this was awesome professor oh. do another wow lesson on verbs. I am very interested and you are helping me awesomely! ganji nanda with teaching. please do another verb lesson.
The next episode of kwow should be a more of a lesson, like on how to create a proper sentence. Since Korean sentence structure is a bit different from English sentence structure. I learned they use subject-object-verb (The boy-ball-kicked) instead of subject-verb-object (The boy-kicked the-ball). Maybe you could make a lesson series on grammar.
I don't know if you read these, but I'll ask anyway-- in what situation would you say "Stop it" formally? I feel like it's an impolite thing to say anyway :o Maybe I just don't understand the full meaning of the word "formal". In Spanish, which I believe it's the same in Korean, you use it for strangers.
Can someone explain to me if this would work with verbs that have stems ending in consonants? For example, the verb 읽다 means "to read," even though I prefer to think of unconjugated verbs as just the idea of the action. Would it be conjugated to the word 읽지마? I just want to check because it seems like the g and j consonants interfere too much.
you pronounce ᄅ as an "L" when is it at the end such as 살다 (to live) and as "r" when in the begining as in 하루 (day). As for the second question are you asking about ᄇ and ᄑ or the double consonant "ᄇ ᄇ "
Well, for your first example of Gadah, "g" and "k" sounds are slightly similar, like "d" and "t" sounds, because of how the sounds are made. For example, "g" and "k" sounds are used by pressing the back of your tongue against the roof of your mouth. However, native Korean speakers are able to tell and make the differences of the three "g/k" consonant sounds (I don't know how to type in Korean, but so you know, there are three consonants that use that sound).
On the next happy wednesday could you teach us how to put words in sentences because i usually look up for eng subs but the eng sub and the korean subs doesnt make sense
I gotta question, if someone could please answer. In korean I know that 소리쳐 means shout. but when I hear Koreans say it, it always sounds like they're saying 소리칠라. Why do they pronounce it that way?
Being that I live in a city where there are a lot of people who don't natively speak english (NYC) I recognize that most apply the sounds to letters that they would in their native language rather then how it is pronounced in english. This isn't an issue with native english speakers, this is something all people do when speaking a foreign language that they haven't learned to speak properly. e.g., my daughter's last name is Simon - & spanish speaking ppl pronounce it "see-moan" not "sy-mon"
"하다" is a verb by it's self but it can be used to make some nouns into verbs. For example, "사랑" is a noun and it means "love". Put love + "to do" and you get 사랑 하다, to love. You can't say "사랑지마". It doesn't work. 기억 means memory. 기억 하다 means to remember. "지마" or "지마세요" is the verb ending for a negative imperative. It can't be used on it's own and you have to use a verb stem. "하지마" is the conjugated form of "하다" using "지마". Present tense for 하다 is 해요. As in, 사랑해요! I hope this helped! :-)
Gajima,. I was just wondering about that last week. From confusing with Shiro, Don't go and don't like. But definitely love Gajima, so many uses in dramas, makes you cry when someones leaving and the woman cries "Gajima, Gajima",. Sad,.

This was really very smart and engaging. And it answered my Google question. And I've subscribed. Good times, lots of talent.

I really love this I only have 3 Korean challenges I watch to help me and you helped me alot and this video even helped me more ILy SM!!🥺🥺🤭❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😋😋😋🌹🌹🌹🤞🤞🤞😁😁😁😁😊😊😊😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗😄😄😄🙂🙂🙂🙃🙃🙃😌😌
I always use hajima "하지마". Coz it have a lot of uses. This channel helped me so much from learning korean and now I know the meaning of andwae.
You're an excellent teacher! I really appreciate it. I'm learning A LOT!
dduhnajima is my favourite, mostly beacuse of the t-ara song dont leave, the way soyeon sings it is amazing.
Gurll you’re awesome! I understand it very well 🥰
Finally I find a video on it. After hearing it on that one show with the little kids and it's called superhero something idek but I've been binge watching it.
Wow ! It’s so easy learning from you! You’re a great teacher :D new sub!
Thanks for the explanation! I wish some how it were less complicated because I'd like to learn Korean. Is going to be easier to learn to understand Korean then it is to speak it properly.
Very good job! I finally understand! And great video and acting too
love it also helps sentence construction.thanks a lot
my favourite is 슬퍼지마 (I hope I got that right)
i say that to myself a lot...
I think it's 슬프지마 because it comes from 슬프다~
슬프지마!
in love with this lesson thanks 😍
hello kwow!!! I was wondering, you guys teach us a lot of vocab words but it would be nice if you could teach us some basic sentences with out the vocab so we can make our own for example "this is a"
Mianhe Mianhe HAJIMA ❤️❤️ sorry reminded me of taeyang
My favorite -jima? Hajima - the key word in the Brave Guys song (at least, the old one) on Gag Concert. Probably the 3d or 4th Korean word I learned.
One of your best lessons so far ^^
선생 님 i hope you can teach us more,im looking for your newest video but i failed. i hope you can teach us tenses of verbs and how to conjugate those verbs. :(
I only listened to BAP -'Stop It' a few times, but I shall never forget Hajima because of it.
I learned about this when Beast's Soom/Breath came out. Kikwang's part: 가지 마 나를 떠나가진 마... Hyunseung's part: 하지 마 돌아서려 하진 마... My fav is 말 시키지마!
can you do an episode on descriptions eg: tall short, handsome, shy, outgoing, ect.
:D
Dear Professor Oh...
I have seen some variety show that they use -goon.
what is the different with the honor titles?
Thank you for this! I do hear these phrases A LOT in dramas!
I figured out what -jima meant from context clues in Wedding Dress by Taeyang and Don't Spray Perfume by Teen Top. K-pop is educational! ^^
YEY! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR A LONG TIME!!!
MY FAVORITE IS: OoLJIMA :)
love learning new words
The next episode of kwow should be a more of a lesson, like on how to create a proper sentence. Since Korean sentence structure is a bit different from English sentence structure. I learned they use subject-object-verb (The boy-ball-kicked) instead of subject-verb-object (The boy-kicked the-ball).
Maybe you could make a lesson series on grammar.
proffesor oh i have a question , why some words need "hajima" why dont just add jima?
George Maichalvin because 'jima' is just a connection. For example, 'gajima' means don't go.
so what does 'sangchu' mean? Sangchu was the name of the dog in TTBY and that translated as 'lettuce' but what's it's other meaning?
I don't know if you read these, but I'll ask anyway--
in what situation would you say "Stop it" formally? I feel like it's an impolite thing to say anyway :o Maybe I just don't understand the full meaning of the word "formal".
In Spanish, which I believe it's the same in Korean, you use it for strangers.
고마워요. I LOVE UR CHANNEL!
My favorite words are :
1. 날울리지마!
2. 가지마!
3. 너무슬퍼하지마.
I just found your channel & I'm so glad I did. You're awesome! xD Thank you for teaching us with entertainment, hehe~
my favorite is haengbokhajima (행복하지마) love that song ^^
가지마 and 하지마 😂
prof. oh, why sometimes i heard 'hajima' with 'n' at the end of the word (hajiman) ?? what's the different with the hajima ?
i think hajiman means but lolol
Thank you so much professor! This is awesome!
Twinkle Twinkle by Girls Day has both 하지마 and 가지마.
They are on the chorus and are easy to spot:
"하지마 하지마 마마마마마마마 가지마 가지마 마마마마마마마 I love you"....
Kajima is my favorite because I always hear it in kdramas
Can someone explain to me if this would work with verbs that have stems ending in consonants? i really like ur korean lessons...very funny and educative...good work ;)...tnx
On the next happy wednesday could you teach us how to put words in sentences because i usually look up for eng subs but the eng sub and the korean subs doesnt make sense
I´ve a question with the formal was to say "don´t do this" I´ve often heard people saying hajimaseyo, not hajimayo. what is the difference ?
Can you do a "Learn Korean" vid on "Consonant Clusters" please? :3
I gotta question, if someone could please answer. In korean I know that 소리쳐 means shout. but when I hear Koreans say it, it always sounds like they're saying 소리칠라. Why do they pronounce it that way?
wow thank u for this vid. ..I learned a lot.. 😍😍😍..more power!
I like Hajimayo. I love these videos.

Yixing's Dimples exo-l here.. Nice example
The Don't love me, I only hurt you part reminded me of Lee Hi's Rose
the best teacher ever thank you so much
Oh and ps i saved ur videos on my ipod your such a great actor and professor. Is that what you want to do as a profession? :)
I wanna ask you something :
"What's DIFFERENCE between 떠나지마 & 가지마 ?
Are they have same meaning 'Don't go'? Please explain to me sweetandtasty 고마워요 :)
I think kajima meant dont go or dont leave but donajima means dont leave me :/
+Mayu Yurika Utami 가다 plainly means 'to go'. 떠나다 means 'to leave'.
고마워 언니 for this video and my favourite word is 하지마 . 그리고 파이팅 언니 ☹❤️❤️

Amazingly helpful and creative! :)
