in Bengali , rice is "bhat" (sounding similar to "bhap" in Korean) and uncooked rice is "chaal" (similar sounding to "ssal" in Korean) ... I wonder how...the cultures are so similar in some ways...
+justin belt To make matters clear, Jeon Jungkook is from BTS , his name here is Pancake JungSoup and Kim *Jong* Kook is from Turbo and a member of Running Man like you said. But spelled -----> Kim *Jong* Kook
ok, I love Jong Kook but Gwang soo is my favorite. I have seen Drama Fever spell it both Kwang and Gwang. He himself has spelled it both ways during a game in which they had to find the letters to there name on an episode called True Gary show 2. Gwang accidently ripped the gwa and substituted kwa. I don't really understand the language yet but they let him do it.
Starlight Jaci Sorry to disappoint you, but you're wrong. There is no such percentage... 90% veggies?? They eat healthy? Many of their foods contain all sorts of meat and they are FRIED. Fried is never healthy, trust me.
I think you are hilarious, love learning Korean with you. I don't eat seafood or beef or pork so Kimchi sounds good, Korean pancakes sounds great too, black bean noodles I know I would like, of course chicken noodle soup, kimpap I would each with cheese, turkey, rice, peppers, onions, spinach, Seaweed soup is great for you so I know I would eat that. Eggrolls that you didn't show, ramyun I eat often when I am too tired to cook, and most definitely I would eat Dumpling Soup made with chicken or vegetables. Thanks for your videos, what a pleasure to watch them and learn at the same time.
I know these videos are old but I just wanna say 사랑해. You have thought me so much with your videos, they have been so helpful with my Korean studies. You are god sends ☺️🤗.
I loved this video and the pronunciations! I would love to try JJAJANGMYUN! Looks very tasty. I am presently in St Louis and they do not have many Korean spots. In Chicago where I was raised I do love Cho Sun Ok. I am pretty sure this is on the menu and will try it out.
+MJ- JaeRon_Joo It's awesome eating Korean food in Korea, but there is awesome food abroad as well! Especially if you befriend the right ajooma or granny haha.
+MJ- JaeRon_Joo If you live in NorCal, feel free to watch my "Kingdom Koreatown" where I reveal some of the best spots to eat K-food. I'll be exploring Koreatowns internationally soon as well :)
Could you make a video for vegetarians? Things like how we can ask if there is meat or fish in the food ? Or which kind of foods are for vegetarians? That would be great :) pleasseeee^^
BTS is illegal Here's a playlist of Korean recipes that are vegetarian or vegan but to be honest most Korean foods are not vegetarian or vegan (even kimchi contains fish sauce). To make them vegan at home is possible but eating out in Korea as a vegan is almost impossible because almost every soup or stew will be made with anchovy stock. ua-cam.com/play/PL3139BD188DA08C38.html
감사합니다!!! Now I can impress the Ahjumma at my local Korean restaurant. She will be proud of me :D It would be cool if maybe you could make a pdf file of the words so people could bring it along to the restaurant for reference! Vote this up if you think thats a good idea :D
Although I'm not Korean, I grew up eating Jjajangmyeon, Ramyeon, Bulgogi, and Kimbap. I'm still Asian, though. :D However, my family just gets the Jjajangmyeon at a Korean supermarket in something like a Ramyeon package and cooks it at home. Yum.
Please do more vocabulary. Your site is one of the few Korean language sites that teaches vocabulary. I can make sentences just fine for a beginner but I don't have a wide enough vocabulary. Clothing, weather, household objects, random, etc. 감사합니다.
I miss the ho-dduk. Wonderful and sweet. We had a lady making it in a small shack covered in a blue tarp just outside our home in Chinhae. You don't get that much around here.
AHHHH!!!! JJAJANGMYUN!!!!!! I love that stuff! Saw it in a movie called "Ne Sarang- My Love" and it was also delivered to Yuri in "Invicible Youth" so I had to try it. It's like the Korean Spaghetti, but better. 맛있어요!!!!
Did we just resolve an argument on youtube? All is forgiven between us? Awesome. I've been learning grammar easily with talk to me in Korean but to learn vocabulary I need more stimulation. That's why I liked when she did vocabulary. It showed the word but also a visual so I was able to get the words to stick. Good luck with your studies. Also, I suggest interpals(.)net for Korean language exchange.
So many presentations about Korean food! How do Koreans stay so slender with all this wonderful food available? My favorite is still bulgogi and I could eat a whole platter of kimbap. Too bad there's no Korean restaurant in my city.
Your videos always look great, even in 360p. I drool at the thought of seeing your Korean menu in hi-def. Have you ever considered doing a podcast? I think that would be a lot of fun to listen to.
Just like @TheOnlyHonkization said. An example: 가다 (to go) becomes 가고싶어요(I/you/he/she/etc want(s) to go. For negative, put the 안 in the front. 안가고싶어요=I/you/etc don't want to go. However, when using the 하다 verb with another noun, like 사랑 (love), it would be 사랑하고싶어요 (I want to love you) but when making it negative, you put 안 between the noun and 하. Noun+안+to do. 사랑안 하고싶어요=I do not want to love. Hope this helped! Good luck! :-)
I'm just attempting to learn hangul today thanks to professor oh(!) and I just got SO EXCITED trying to spell out makgooksu in hangul on my iphone and it autocompleted! AND I KNEW WHAT IT SAID. IT IS A WORD I CAN MAKE NOW. !
I love it all. And that was a great little snippet! My fave is Byeoduhgoey HaeJangguk, but there are so many others. For a side dish, Golbangi Muchim is the bomb-diggity as are almost all the muchim dishes!
Great video!!! I really liked this, very nicely done especially the way you organized the different dishes with subtitles and repetition. Helpful, fun, and informative ^_^
Ya i Started to get interested into korean culture after i found out about kpop, and ever since my love for kpop i have wanted to learn the language. I still have a long way to go so that i can speak korean fluently, but so far i have really enjoyed learning the minimum amount of words i know. Watching eatyourkimichi has definately made visiting Korea on my bucket list.... and sweetandtasty has made learning korean easy too:)
Really awesome and informative videos. I really like the piano/jazz music you play in the background of your videos. Could you possibly list any of the performers or records you get the music from? I am also a jazz pianist studying music, it would be awesome to compose some stuff for your videos.
Ooh, I might try it with some vegies! Sounds delicious. I will keep that in mind when I make it, thank you so much for the tip. I really appreciate you lending some advice to a raymun newbie. :)
My all-time fave is ojinguh bokkeum and nakiji bokkeum! I make kimchi and oickimchi regularly so, also kimchi jiigae, kongbijijigae, soondubu jjigae---I can cook all of them.Love it! Kongnamulguk is excellent for slimming down-I lost so much weight thanks to awesome Kfood.Hopefully can go visit Korea soon....: ) My dream!
Yep, pretty much any vegetables (the back of the pack says you can put egg in it, but i dunno...) I usually put carrot, potato, zucchini, mushroom and something leafy like lettuce or cabbage. Im not too keen on putting meat in it. And yea, if it says Kimchi, it will probably be spicy. If you dont think you can handle it, just put half of the flavouring in it when you're cooking it. Ive only ever had the hot spicy flavour, and i think it tastes great :)
With reference to food, I've just had ramyun for the first time in my life today, plus a Korean drink called 봉봉? ... It was grape juice and little bits of grape in it ...
I LOVE HAEMULPAJEON!! (seafood scallion pancake) Its seriously the best, I'm not kidding. There's also Bibimbap, kimchi and soybean paste soup! Marinated chicken is just pure love 333
hi professor oh im a huge fan of your videos! i really wanted this for a while but i want to learn wonderful in korean. its not much but i really want to learn it! please and thanks
I really want to go to South Korea someday and try all the foods I can! I love your videos! I'm rying to learn the Korean launguage, but I'm a slow learner, so it's really hard to retain the information. Any tips on how to help older people learn Korean? Any help is appreciated.

replace the -다 (verb ending) with -고 싶어 , then it means "i want to (verb)"..
put 안 in front of all that and it's negative -> i don't want (verb)
So many presentations about Korean food! How do Koreans stay so slender with all this wonderful food available? My favorite is still bulgogi and I could eat a whole platter of kimbap. Too bad there's no Korean restaurant in my city.
