Thika belongs to both Kiambu and Murang'a even though the biggest portion is on the Kiambu side of the River. Although Thika town is administratively in Kiambu County, the greater Thika area comprising such residential areas such as Bendor estate, Maporomoko, Thika Greens, Thika Golden Pearl, Bahati Ridge, Thika Sports Club, Blue Posts, among others, are within Murang'a County. The Chania River forms the Murang’a-Kiambu border!

As you enter Thika town before Kenyatta highway, the road is crying for expansion . There is always traffic when entering Thika town. Plus it's sad there isn't any recreational park,
So true, traffic is crazy after the interchange. We need an interchange between Kenyatta Hwy and Garissa Road

My family used to live in Makongeni Phase 13 back in 2005. Haven't been back to Thika ever since I finished my primary school education at St. Paul's Thomas academy, maragua in 2007. Watching this brings back memories. Greetings all from Cologne, Germany :)

Left Kenya 23 years ago . Lived in Thika for some time and one Blue Posts Hotel and the falls used to be the main attraction . The place has now grown so much from what I can see , that I imagine it would be unrecognisable in the beginning and take some time catching up . Kenya is so beautiful .

Thika is growing, can't compare 10yrs ago and right now. Businesses and buildings have grown. I remember the tallest and the only building that was recognizable, Thika Arcade.

Thika is strategically located in Kiambu County but majority of locals who live and work there actually come from Murang’a county. Thika is right at the border of the two counties.

Infact there are some people whose house 🏡 is in Muranga and their school 5 minutes away is in Kiambu.
You should know that Thika is both in Kiambu and Murang'a since the border of the two counties is the Chania River

Wish Kiambu govt gave some more atte tion to Thika's infrastructure rather than come collect money,roads have to become shambas before they can be repaired,then shoddly done.Water works is waiting for the next colonisation for a mzungu to expand.
Great videos as always, though i feel Kiambu county have neglected roads, drainage and pavements within all towns and estates. They have never been repaired for decades.

Thika town is very condensed,Its outskirts will expand especially landless area and will connect Nairobi through eastern bypass and not Thikaroad..
