A week later I got a second call to come in and buy the SD43. Much better choice. Don't be afraid to say no to the AD if it is not what you want.
You grey market dealers always at it. If I had the choice of a 2021 yacht master in white gold on oysterflex for 23,950 or the same watch 2023 from the AD I’m getting it from the AD for 25,600. I have 2 more years on the warrant which is worth more to me.
Or buy the watch on grey market at a discount then put it in for service when the warranty runs out. That's another two years warranty and still cheaper than buying from AD without the wait.

The Chocolate Roman Day-Date 40 and the Sundust Index Markers Datejust 41 (Fluted, Jubilee). These would be my first two purchases with the AD - any idea on how long I may be waiting for these? 2) I went in to an AD a few weeks ago and they had a Yacht-Master Paved Everose Oysterflex. I was never a fan of the diamond dials but this one has such a nice balance. I’m just curious of the market for these - are these readily available in the market? Does Rolex make many diamond paved dials? Is this one you think they’ll continue to make in the future? It’s cool when something holds value but I wouldn’t be buying it for that reason but rather because I want to enjoy the timepiece. I just want to know if this is something I should jump on or may have the opportunity to attain in the future. Thank you for your advice!

I am scammed forcing me to buy a skydwellwr oyster flex strap champagne dial . Seeing it self I realized I am losing money on it but am not buying to sell ever . Hope AD doesn’t cheat me will give me the promised Daytona
This may not be the right place to comment but I had been looking for a 41 Datetime in green with this colour bezel and that colour blu-tooth. OK I'm joking but I'm 80. Charlie told me he thought the colour was a nice match and that he'd look. I kept looking at his site and saw a Wimbledon 41 (clue they're not green)and I thought that looks even nicer. If you're going to spend a lot of money then do it quickly. My watch arrived this morning and I have never seen anything more elegant (just teetering on the edge of bling). He got the £££ and despatched the watch the next day and it looks twice as nice in the round as it did in the picture . It Is also incredibly comfortable. Thank you for the speed - the lack of drama and (oh) taking my money. Point of this story the grey market might be much better for you
Haha thank you for the comment George! Pleased to hear you got your watch and you’re happy with it. Such a stunning model, enjoy it my friend! You were a pleasure to deal with and I hope to hear from you again! 🙏
The UK Rolex RRP is just so expensive...The Rose Gold Yacht-master 40 in Japan for example is £18,500.00 RRP...But also remember when you get the oysterflex watches, there are various lengths of oysterflex from C,D,E,F,G etc and getting the right length will cost abit more.
Maybe you can help me with my decision. Just want something to hold it’s value . Looking at a yellow gold day date black face vs a yellow gold sky black face oyster . Thank you
So the Sky-Dweller is a rather underlist watch, so if you get from the AD you will lose quite a chunk from the start. If you can go for an Oysterflex Daytona such as the Ghost, Pikachu or Paul Newman - these are the best precious metal watches to go for at the moment.
@@harnaras2400 All full precious metal models are tricky at the moment except the Oysterflex Daytonas. If you are in it for the long term (5-10 years) any model should hold its value well. But if you are in it for the short term I would hold off for now.
Can't put a value on this kind of knowledge and information, thanks for sharing it as always Charlie. A couple of questions if I may : (1) Where does the rhodium dial Yachtmaster sit in all of this ? Had my name down for one and was offered it last year but had to pass as the timing wasn't right and starting to wonder if I maybe dodged a bullet. Still keen to buy one at some point though. Thoughts ? (2) I know in the old days a lot of the AD's dumped their unsold stock into the trade directly via grey market guys such as yourself. Is that happening yet ? If not, do you think it will happen? Take it easy Sir and long may you keep churning out the videos.

I have a quick question for you. If I bought watches from the gray market and wanted to buy a BIG piece from the AD. How will they treat me?Will they still want to get my spend up and put me on the list before making my first big purchase? Thanks in advance, love your channel.
Tide is slowly turning on Rolex AD's. People got tired of playing their Silly Games and went somewhere else. No surprise after getting jerked around for a year, that AD's are getting a lot of NOs for their pieces and the ADs are not struggling to sell pieces especially, their Gold/TT watches. The dip will keep going throughout this year. Good time to buy some of these pieces in the GM and can actually get it below MSRP.
hello, I wanna buy a 2nd Rolex. my first was a date just 41 smooth bezel oyster bracelet blue dial. Which do I have most chance of getting: Starbucks, batgirl, or Pepsi jubilee ?
Why would my AD sell me a Steel Daytona at list when it can go out the back door to a Grey at double the price… that’s why Chrono24 is flooded with the hardest piece to get…it ain’t rocket science.
Charlie what are you hearing on the street about the blue dial white gold Daytona? I know it’s been discontinued but are ADs managing to sell the [albeit limited] stock of it they have? Or are they calling around on it, like with other precious metal models? What are you currently charging for these in 2023 models, brand new with box and papers?
So while it is a stunning watch, as with most full precious metal models it is an incredibly slow mover, so not one we have looked to stock for some time 👍
Hi Charlie! Big fan of your channel and work. I'm curious what indicators do you look for when determining that a watch might be overpriced by the market. For example I saw your comment on one of the new watches and you said that it's being traded for way higher than what we believe it's worth. Obviously much of this is your experience but what tips would you have for people new to watch trading like myself? Thanks in advance for your tips and sharing your experience.
Hi mate thank you for watching, really appreciate it! So yes the same thing happens with new releases. When they start hitting the market the prices are over hyped at an unrealistic value as the watch is new and exciting - people rush to be the first to own it. Over time once the hype dies down the prices come down to reflect the true market price as more become readily available.
Saw a yellow gold, champagne dial Skydweller in AD yesterday for 40k, stunning, what is grey market price on this, had a yellow gold day date as well, definitely trying to off load big value watches.

Sunday updates with Charlie always interesting. More of Ever Rose over White Gold for my taste. I’m waiting to see if the Rootbeer finally drops hard. Especially all gold model🤔
Most important question for ya Charly, can you wear the same shirt in black next time to not just honor the panda but the ever so classy black dial Daytona ;)! It will match your branding on background better also
At first I was thinking supporting the grey market was like I wasn’t good enough to get a call from the AD. Now I see the grey market is where you actually save money.
After ten months & no purchase history, I got offered a Rolex ⌚️ for £39,250 from my Rolex AD. On my way to visit the AD I phoned my Grey Market Dealer, he said if I purchase this watch, I would loose £15,000 😱
@@thehonestwatchdealer I honestly do. I think end of 2024 we will be back to normality with only the ss daytona fetching over premium and new models when they are released for a short time.
When i asked my AD about Panda Daytona he simply told me "forget about that watch". He told me that wait period is around 7 years! That day i have ordered 3 watches, and Panda was not one of them.
Just buy a Rep, just as good for a fraction of the cost. If it breaks, buy a new one. Watch prices are driving the counterfeit market and I’m glad to see it. High end new Reps are IMPOSSIBLE to tell from the real thing
I was interested in the 37mm Not the 40mm so was able to walk away after trying on, definitely looked & felt the watch was too big for me. I’m am currently wear the 37mm Yachtmaster Everose Oysterflex bracelet, I love the watch, but living without diamonds is difficult 🤣 Thank you for your advice.
James Cameron / D-Blue was my first Rollie. I got my first one from a Grey, and then 8 months later got the call from my AD that it came in finally, so bought it and tucked it away. Solid watch. I wear it as a daily. Hopefully, it will appreciate over time / when and if they discontinue it completely.
An age old lesson here: if you actually have real money and can afford a precious metal watch, you can get a great deal. Meanwhile, those stretching their dollars and euros and pounds are still paying over list for a stainless steel watch that millions of others also have.
You keep telling people to just go grey and don't go to ADs to buy watches, but you wouldn't have any stock if people didn't go to ADs to buy the watch in the first place. Every single watch you have there for sale has all come from an AD somewhere around the world. Lets not forget that. You are a reseller, selling watches way over their MSRP for profit. If people buy watches from ADs that they actually want and not to flip, then we would all get the watches we want for MSRP and not have to pay double the price through you.
True on watches coming from the AD, but what you are missing is if demand drops and AD’s have an abundance of watchers waiting to sell at RRP, grey market dealers don’t just crumble, they will just sell for below RRP. It’s the flippers who will lose out, as there will be no meat on the bone for them. You’d save money buying from them in those situations and you’d still have the watch you wanted. Remember before the Rolex hype, many of the big pieces were selling below RRP and you could buy them for 3/4 of the price from Charlie. He’s not someone whose just appeared since the hype to make money. It’s supply and demand
Great vid as always Charlie. I wonder if Rolex have shot themselves in the foot with these recent significant price rises. I know they wanted a bit of the grey market action ie if a Pepsi sells for £16k on the grey then there's no problem cranking up the rrp on it. However this won't work on the precious metal models. They have become really expensive now and were only ever in hot demand in the crazy covid years. Now their demand is back to where it was but the rrp has increased £3k+....a double whammy. They historically struggled to shift these watches and now the rrp is even higher.
Thank you for watching mate, really appreciate it. You are absolutely right there, unfortunately as these precious metal models have become so high in price the market for them is incredibly small, making them so hard to sell. So this causes the secondary price to come down.
Yeah but what you don't disclose is that if you buy of the Rolex AD then you carry provenance and value when you resell which can result in thousands in resale value versus buying from random so called grey market dealers with zero provenance. You could be purchasing a nice fake with nice fake box and papers. ALWAYS buy from AD! That way you can ensure your purchase is genuine, after all we are talking thousands in purchase here. Then when you resell you can command fair resale price versus trying to convince buyers that it's fine because you purchased of this nice grey market seller. You get the point .
Nah not always. That’s not how the Watch industry works mate. Collectors will know what I’m talking about. You can buy from trusted grey market dealers who have guarantees. You can always verify a watch by Rolex after buying it elsewhere too. I certainly have
Rolex is no longer a watch to wear as is is not in the retail market and grey market is dead now. Ask yourself why wear a Rolex and get your hand chopped off by thieves targeting it. It is dangerous to wear a Rolex.

Thankyou mate! Absolutely right, well done for turning down a watch not on your list 👏🏻 Can even sometimes work in your favour 👌🏻
I am scammed forcing me to buy a skydwellwr oyster flex strap champagne dial . Seeing it self I realized I am losing money on it but am not buying to sell ever . Hope AD doesn’t cheat me will give me the promised Daytona
@@sreecharannv Hopefully you get the call for your Daytona soon, got my fingers crossed for you! 🤞
Rather a steel Daytona pre ceramic for 23k over a yacht master all day long, even add 2k more for a ceramic panda.
Can never go wrong with a Daytona 👌

You were a pleasure to deal with and I hope to hear from you again! 🙏
Where can i buy those watch pillows in the video?
You can find good quality versions on eBay 👌
The UK Rolex RRP is just so expensive...The Rose Gold Yacht-master 40 in Japan for example is £18,500.00 RRP...But also remember when you get the oysterflex watches, there are various lengths of oysterflex from C,D,E,F,G etc and getting the right length will cost abit more.
Interesting nice comment.
Ah yes, very different markets all around the world. Would be great if they were the same throughout 😖
@@thehonestwatchdealer Q. Is there really a difference in price ..to say a Rolex purchased in say Dubai or the UK.
What do you think of the two tone Daytona, ADs offering this one too recently

So the Sky-Dweller is a rather underlist watch, so if you get from the AD you will lose quite a chunk from the start.
If you can go for an Oysterflex Daytona such as the Ghost, Pikachu or Paul Newman - these are the best precious metal watches to go for at the moment.
@@thehonestwatchdealer the hard part is I have a panda . What would be your recommendation for a precious metal besides a Daytona ?
@@harnaras2400 All full precious metal models are tricky at the moment except the Oysterflex Daytonas.
If you are in it for the long term (5-10 years) any model should hold its value well.
But if you are in it for the short term I would hold off for now.
Can't put a value on this kind of knowledge and information, thanks for sharing it as always Charlie.
A couple of questions if I may :
(1) Where does the rhodium dial Yachtmaster sit in all of this ?

Most probably, they would need the spend to be with them and not elsewhere as it is all about boosting their sales unfortunately. 😫
Thanks so much :))
Is the 136660 black dial a good buy ?
Not as popular as the Blue but if you are going to enjoy it then go for it 👌🏻
Tide is slowly turning on Rolex AD's.
The best time to buy is when everybody is selling as they say! 👌
Chrono 24 isn’t showing much of a down tick on the popular models. Show me a DayDate 40 with baton markers and a Denzel dial for 32k
hello, I wanna buy a 2nd Rolex. my first was a date just 41 smooth bezel oyster bracelet blue dial. Which do I have most chance of getting: Starbucks, batgirl, or Pepsi jubilee ?

A Starbucks or Batgirl - the Pepsi will be the best to get however also the hardest.

What is about DJ41 rolesor yellow, jubille, fluted and champaign dial ?
Probably round about list in this one 👍
@@thehonestwatchdealer What is your opinion about this config ?
Why would my AD sell me a Steel Daytona at list when it can go out the back door to a Grey at double the price… that’s why Chrono24 is flooded with the hardest piece to get…it ain’t rocket science.
Charlie what are you hearing on the street about the blue dial white gold Daytona? I know it’s been discontinued but are ADs managing to sell the [albeit limited] stock of it they have? Or are they calling around on it, like with other precious metal models? What are you currently charging for these in 2023 models, brand new with box and papers?
So while it is a stunning watch, as with most full precious metal models it is an incredibly slow mover, so not one we have looked to stock for some time 👍
@@thehonestwatchdealer
Thanks for your reply Charlie, much appreciated.
Does gray market include papers? Or what makes it gray market?
Yes we only deal with full sets, but others also sell ‘naked’ watches.
It is just the term for the secondary market 👍
Love your videos. Please add 4k content. Would add lots of value to your videos.
Thank you mate appreciate the advice - I will take a look into it!
The Secondary Gray Watch Market Is Dead 💀

An age old lesson here: if you actually have real money and can afford a precious metal watch, you can get a great deal. Meanwhile, those stretching their dollars and euros and pounds are still paying over list for a stainless steel watch that millions of others also have.
Very interesting outlook! Thanks for watching 🙏
Looks like an Omega seamaster 300’ on a rubber strap
But a watch to use it not for investment 🤦🤔
Yeah but what you don't disclose is that if you buy of the Rolex AD then you carry provenance and value when you resell which can result in thousands in resale value versus buying from random so called grey market dealers with zero provenance. You could be purchasing a nice fake with nice fake box and papers. ALWAYS buy from AD! That way you can ensure your purchase is genuine, after all we are talking thousands in purchase here. Then when you resell you can command fair resale price versus trying to convince buyers that it's fine because you purchased of this nice grey market seller. You get the point .
Absolute nonsense.
Since when people need to buy watches if they only holds in value. It’s all nonsense. Watches is for a lifestyle.
So what?? I couldn’t care less what this guy thinks. I’m buying a YM 42 Falcon eye as soon as I can get my hands on one.
