I can relate. But, as I've learned from, often painful, experience, you can't just set emotions aside. If nothing else, they provide valuable, if often perplexing, information that compensates for the intellect's blind spots and presumptions. I've learned to treat my emotions as signals and to make the effort to try to figure out what they may be telling me, as tiresome and time consuming as that process can be. Like it or not, the feels can help keep it real.
@@petersmall1574 I am not saying emotions are meaningless and we should just ignore them or anything. However, the "better" my base mood , which I seem to perceive with Si is that I woke up with, the less fluctuations in emotions I seem to have. I just feel kind of neutral and I like it that way, because I dislike the ups and downs that emotions can bring with themselves. They sort of force their presence on you. Again, they can contain valuable information, but there are a lot of emotions too that you might just have felt 10 times before and you already know what they mean, yet you still have to feel them and have to deal with experiencing them. That just seems a waste of time to me and I understand I can not avoid having to waste time on that. Let's say your best friend dies, or your mom dies. Then you might feel sad about that for a long amount of time. However, what valuable information does that really give you that you did not know before? Yeah of course you will miss them, because apparently they meant a lot to you so its obvious what the feeling means. However, unlike intuition, its not really going anywhere really. Then you have to sort of come to terms with it, or maybe talk about it...emotionally process it...However, that .basically feels like a chore, that you just have to do if you want them to go away. It's like having this animal in your house living with you and it's constantly making a mess, chewing on stuff and you have clean up that mess . Sure, you might know what his favorite food is at some point..well yay? Now you have the information and still have to deal with everything it does, , give him food, clean up his shit (literally). If you love animals, sure that may feel worth it to you , but if you do not like them you can't opt out. They're mandatory for everyone.. O well, I made my point I guess
I would say facta non verba might apply to an ESTJ rather than an ESTP. EsTP's can really talk alot. And need attention abt that sometimes. Maybe we could find middle ground and say it applies to an ISTP.

Cogito ergo sum is one I relate with too. Good job to Descartes for coining that phrase
I would love it if Dawn ever teaches me about the Roman Empire and Latin.

Emotions however are just some nonsense I have to deal with having too

@@petersmall1574I enjoyed reading your thoughts on emotions. Research suggests we feel before we think. What are your preferences? INTJ?
@@factanonverba18 INTP seems to fit me most closely. How about yourself?
@ I have ENFP preferences.
