Just a small tip from M50 user, to change settings fast use (exposure-UP) button to switch between shutter/F stops and FN button to change ISO, then you can use dial next to shutter to quickly change them on the fly. Worked quite fast for me, takes a bit of time to get used to it though.
Tribute to Pete cracked me up. But old mate on the escalator is an absolute champion! So sick! I’m taking notes for when I get up to London in a couple of weeks
Hi Mike! I’m a newbie to photography and just bought this camera to start. Do you have any recommendations on how to learn more about settings to get a certain shot? Course, UA-cam, etc? Thank you!!
I live literally about 15/20 minutes away from there. Cool video Mike. If you ever want an absolute beginner to come out and take some snaps with you let me know. I think it'd be a cool experience and I could learn a lot from you.
Of course I'm still watching and being a legend (with a Nikon)! I was laughing with Pete's tribute! Very nice photos, especially the black building, Sam's portraits, the alley and St. Paul's cathedral, which, by the way, many people have photographed but I haven't! So please keep taking cool photos of it! I love that type of screen that the little M50 has. As I have said before and will always complain about, Nikon did an irrational thing by giving the Z50 a flip whatever screen that you need a rig to make it work and still can't see properly from any angle... Very good video as always!
awesome video interesting that you shot most if not all in portrait mode.. the moving train shots were awesome, I'm guessing the camera was always in manual mode hence why you was able to balance between aperture/iso/shutter speed.
It’s not about the camera as long as you can use it to it’s full potential, I probably still didn’t use it to its full potential haha , but you get my point
Wow so many great locations to find after seeing this video. I love London and can’t wait to lockdown to be over and visit. Never know if we bump into you on a shoot. Great shots and another banging video
Hi Mike, do you think this camera is good for beginner? As I'm planning to buy my first compact camera for myself (i don't have knowledge about camera).
Would it be possible to add the settings of each picture somewhere small in the bottom of the images? So that we could stop the video and analyze it better on how that shot was created. Would help me as a beginner tremendously.
@@MikeChudley oh then I should also watch your other videos. I am a intermediate beginner and bought the M50 recently used for a great price (300€), but I am more and more attracted by the Sony ecosystem as it feels that there is not so much room for improvement in the Canon ecosystem and I do not want to change all lenses later on. So I am thinking about getting an A6300(~500€) or A6400 (~800€). The display is reeeeeeeeeeally helpful in street photography for difficult angles and the prices are really high for Sony cameras. So torn apart, but something holds me back in getting other lenses than the kit and it feels limiting sometimes. Don't know what to do.
@@MikeChudley Thanks Mike for your reply! Awesome! I’m considering buying the Mark II… for someone that is starting in photography, so you recommend this camara ?
Hey man nice video! Is it worth selling my canon 250d which i bought 3 months ago to buy this one? Thanks! (Street photography portrait photography food)
Nice Video man, I was little confused about m50 ii but now I think I made good decision of ordering this camera,Thanks🙏, can't wait to click pictures on it haha. #Beginner
Bro, if i use EF-S 50- 250mm lens via adapter on M50 mark 2. Will I get the same picture quality from the original m mount lens ( Ef-M 50-250 lens). Or will there be difference in image quality?. Actually, i am thinking of purchasing the M50 mark 2. But the lenses are expensive and to counter that I will buy only the camera and an adapter. That's y I am asking these questions. If there will be huge difference in the picture quality than I will not purchase ef-s lens and will get the original M mount lens.
I've been using DSLR's since i started photography about 7 years ago. I want something smaller, and i want something mirrorless. Im no pro i do it as a hobby, so i dont need anything god aweful expensive. I currently own a Nikon D7100 with a Nikkor 35mm 1.8, Nikkor 18-135mm 3.5, and a Sigma 10-20mm. So all in all a pretty inexpensive set up. After searching the internet for a "entry level" mirrorless and not really being too fussed about a ASP-C/CMOS sensor, i stumbled upon the Canon M50 Mk2, which eventually lead me to this video. All i can say is wow, you showcased that camera so well that someone whos been doing photography for 7 years like myself is considering that camera as an entire main camera replacment to a DSLR set up. I am actually really excited to see what these types of cameras are capable of with lenses like Sigmas 1.4 35mm prime for example. You may have just sold me on this camera my friend. Much love from the AU.
Thanks for watching, I'll so pleased you liked this video. If you do purchase the camera, please use the affiliate link at the top of the description, that way I get a small kickback from the purchase. Thanks again!
Solid post, Mike.👍 Commentary a plus. Sam as model, less so, IMO. Didn’t Sam recently do a POV using the same cam model - was your’s or a loaner from Sam? Numbering images would really help viewers comment on them. In the meantime, liked the dog walker at about 3:58 min because the dog was looking at camera - good timing. Black building is a genuine photo “hot spot”, IMO, worth a return to catch a colorfully dressed passer-by against the black background. Patience. On cloudy day I would expect touch screen monitor visibility to be good - what about a sunny day? Did you find anything else about cam that would make it well suited to street photography compared to the competition? Cheers!
That's a hard question to answer in one UA-cam comment. A quick piece of advice would be to keep the cuts frequent enough the viewers stay engaged. At any moment some could get bored and click away, change something in the video to re engage them.
I like the overcast look in photos... Some taken in sunlight are ok but a lot are way too bright for my liking. Dark photos like the ones he took are canvas worthy for people to buy imo.

Useful indeed!
It's a really fun camera to use and the kit lens is actually quite good for what it is.
