The battle makes seeing the landing THAT much sweeter. My nephew is a skater so I get to see, and film, the struggle. Its awesome when they finally land it. You can see the relief in the shoulders when they roll away from "it". ✌🏾
I've been a skater for almost 20 years and it never stops surprising me the lengths pros will go to to get a trick on a certain spot... To the point where they are screwing plywood to the roof of a business they're likely not allowed to be on just so they can blast themselves into Highway traffic blind haha... Insane. Respect.
This is probably an unpopular opinion in the skate community but not respecting other people's property to some extent is a problem. I'd say drilling into a roof is a problem unless you have permission. Otherwise why should anyone respect your property? What if people just started breaking people's skateboards? I'm sure at some point yall would even say a line needs to be drawn on respecting others property. Most likely when it starts to affect yours...
@@thejarjosh to a certain degree I agree with you, I think there are a lot of instances where skaters take it to far then act like the property owner is the jerk for getting mad, that isn't right. If you're going to take it to a point where you're damaging property you don't own you should be willing to accept the consequences or don't do it.
I've driven by this spot a dozen times, let me be the 80th person to say it, but this thing is fuckin steep and rough. Major respect for taming this beast Ronnie 🤙
While I love the MY WAR series there's a part of me that doesn't want my favourite skaters to have to get so chewed up and bodied on spots. It's amazing and gnarly, but I empathise very heavily. The sprains, micro-fractures, road rash and the heads BOUNCING off concrete... knowing it's a combination of adrenaline and shock that numbs these warriors out just enough to see them on to glory. It's an absolutely beautiful example of the triumph of human spirit... but I want you all to stay beautiful and reach a happy healthy old age!
9:56 is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. When you feel the wheels beneath your feet roll away and just well up with emotions after giving it your all is one of the greatest feelings on the planet. Almost brought tears to my eyes when his homies rushed him and gave him props and said “it’s okay to cry”. 💕
When he says it's a good day to die man, and runs up and you see how many steps he has to take to get to the top, blew my mind. Skaters are a different breed and I love it!!!
I'm so glad another My War has been made. My favorite one is Sammy Baca's. Definitely one of the best series on Thrasher. They gotta make more of these.
seriously how frustrating is that. He literally put himself through probably 10 tries and 2 head slams for no reason at all. he had it every single try
No not necessarily. I skated with loose trucks all my life and tons of times I'd try to hill bomb or do other crazy sht on my friends boards and it completely fks my balance up. If you've learned how to skate from day 1 with really loose trucks skating with tight trucks will complete throw your balance off especially when your doing crazy sht at least for me. Obviously I can still skate with tight trucks but skating something big no way it's too sketchy. It feels weird even grabbing the nose and jumping on a board with tight trucks because I'm expecting to go whatever side of the truck my foot first lands but I end up going straight. (That last sentence probably didn't make sense it's hard to explain)
everyone always demands more my wars. thrasher knows how good the series is... the reason the videos are so compelling is because these are personal stories that take months, sometimes years out of the skaters’ lives. imagine if we got a new installment every week? the quality would drop drastically and then we’d complain about that. just be happy you get any at all.
Teared up on this one man. Im 48. I hurt everyday of my life. Got injuries pro athletes dont make it through and I wouldnt change a thing. Skateboarding is the greatest feeling in the world!!!

Dopest skater alive
Seeing how loose his trucks are at 8:32 AFTER tightening them a few cranks shows how gnar he was trying it before.
Noticed that too. Mental.
Hah he “tightened the fuck out of” them. Unbelievable
