- We begin the installation of the Marlin Crawler RCLT HD suspension kit on Alex's 2011 Toyota Tacoma with a complete tear-out of the existing lift that was on the truck. This included the Total Chaos and Icon components that had served Alex well over the years, but had to come out for the addition of the new kit and 37" tires! Check it out.

Keep um coming no one has this documented yet 👍🏽
I second that, I'll be using this as a template for my 3G once everything arrives in May. Thanks for the detailed vids!
Can't wait for volume 2
We’re installing this weekend, video in two weeks!
That steering rack is the only thing steering me away from this kit (no pun intended). I have zero welding experience but I would really love this kit. If 100% bolt on I would’ve bought this kit already.
Agreed. That part of the install is tough, but having the kit on your truck will definitely put you in a completely different class in the Toyota world. My ICON kit with coilovers and uppers feels weak to me now after seeing this gear.
Lookin forward to the install video/what the truck looks like with it installed 👍🏼. I’m super jealous.
They need to make the kit for my 97 4runner
You may have noticed... 8:39 looks like the frame is cracked? Right where the lower brace for the steering rack and rear LCA mount connects to the front part of the frame. May be worth throwing down some reinforcement there? Good stuff though! Excited to watch the next vid!
That's crazy
Just curious, not sure if this was mentioned. Why'd you make the swap? I know I've kind of looked at both of these kits for my 4runner as well as the JD fab kit. awesome vid btw! thanks!
Pretty sure Alex just wanted to build a more capable rig. Toyotas definitely have their limitations, but this one gives built Jeeps a run for their money.
I'm so torn on this setup- I think I will save up and do it because the cost of a good long travel really comes close anyways, and leaves some things unaddressed. Unless I got a killer deal on one, I think RCLT is the way
Definitely more straightforward than a SAS, and agree with your comment about LT. Wish we could go RCLT on our rig, just doesn’t make sense for what we do.
@@FurthurOffRoad Yeah I think the on sale $96 a tire discoverer ATs on my wife's GX are overkill for what we do but hey. I told her If I'm going to beat something to death on a trail it's going to be something with solid axles, and ugly already. Or I'll be dumb and get a SxS like the rest of the world. We love our GX just no sense in going crazy. Working on typical long travel flexy rear RN.
How much of this will translate over to a 4runner? I have to assume a lot of the suspension on the tacoma is near the same as whats on the 4runner?
Never done any suspension work on a 4Runner but assume the front is pretty close to the Tacoma. There are a few YT vids where people have installed the RCLT kit, including Dirt Everyday.
@@FurthurOffRoad ill look for them, thanks!
✌️👍
Is this thing finished yet?
Alex has the truck on all four tires now, but there are still a few things left to do before it'll be trail-worthy. I'm working up the install vid. With the holiday, it'll be out in about a week. The kit is definitely not just a bolt on, and I think most people would be looking at 6 weeks minimum working nights and full weekends. Stay tuned!
@@FurthurOffRoad awesome looking forward to it
