Trail Tested Marlin Crawler RCLT HD

  • After many months of Alex fitting the Marlin lift kit, Covid issues, and the downtime of the Holidays, we finally hit the trail and give the RCLT HD a proper testing. It's clear from the jump that this kit and the huge tires that it allows are a game changer for IFS Toyota vehicles. Congratulations to Alex on the successful install of a lift that is much more than a simple bolt on.

    Loving it my front is done unfortunately not the rear waiting on production of a custom rear axle! RCLT is the only way to and keep the IFS if you like crawling!

    At 7200$ it's not the worst price for what you get, I'm at around 8000$ and counting in parts for my S.A.Swap , M.C. is a quality great Company, I personally hate IFS but if you want a great setup, I would say this is a lot of bang for your buck! But I'd rather have a solid axle any day over IFS and remember you will still have no locker in the front and its still attached to the weak points on the frame, personally I feel that a lot of people are going to go this way over a solid axle swap just cause it's easier, I can't wait to have a real truck axle under my first Gen Tacoma but honestly I do like this setup but if I was going this far into independent suspension, I would probably build some type of pre runner and have a completely useless truck for where I live in NY , ain't no dunes here, primarily off-road on trails in PA and surrounding area, I love Rocks so , solid axle it is! Great video

      Even with rclt, not every one is doing it for strictly rock crawling. LT can do 95% of the trails that 90% of most guys do anyways. SaS is superior in durability... but they break just the same imo

    • @frankfilippone9679

      It's definitely a really sweet set up I just like trucks with solid axles not a fan of independent suspension but if I was gonna do it this would definitely be a great option , My 03 Tacoma is a daily driver/trail vehicle I have a hybrid axle going in the front , Dana 30 hi pinion with chromoly Axle shafts , fully sleeved ( thing is heavy for a 30 ) 4:56 gears, locker , Dana 44 outers with 6 lug conversion and manual Warn Hubs , I don't want to weigh it down with 1 ton axles, so my friend who is the auto shop teacher At Freeport high school here in long Island NY , he loves building these weird hybrid axles and he's really good at it, can't wait until she's done, videos will be up on my channel and my Instagram @frankrubicon_ I broke a new ( I'm thinking defective ) lower ball joint coming off a curb and decided, it's S.A.S. time, to much money spent, no turning back now

      Just curious Frank. Why can't you have a locker in the front on IFS?

    • @frankfilippone9679
      @frankfilippone9679 2 роки тому +1

      I'm pretty sure you can put any type of locker in a IFS differential, Detroit, ARB air locker , Aussie , Spiral posi , Drop in Lunch box, if you have selectable hubs you can Lincoln lock it , Eaton Electric locker, I'm pretty sure sky's the limit as long as you beef up your Half Shafts etc Let me try to explain why I offer my opinion, I don't know anything about Sports? Nothing, I don't care to know anything about lame ass Sports, I don't chase balls around and I would never offer my advice or opinions to a Football yoyo on how to score a homerun but when it comes to CARS/TRUCKS/MOTORCYCLES that is my life! Don't know about Politics or email or internet shit ( I do love watching and making UA-cam videos ) All I know is Kool shit with wheels, I said, " This is a sweet setup " I live on the East Coast ( Long Island NY ) having an IFS ( Broken Tacoma IFS sitting next to my solid XJ in my driveway waiting for SAS, have all the parts , broke that On road, on the tough NY streets ) here and mainly Rock Crawling and tight Forests of Upstate NY and Pennsylvania ( Has more natural rock formations than anywhere else in the country ) where I live and the terrain we wheel, a solid axle is best, I never stop any American from doing what they want, your vehicle, your choice, to each is own and its a free country but I think because it's a lot of work/money people are less reluctant to do a solid axle conversion, my Tacoma S.A.Swap has a custom made axle going in it , so , I ain't scared to do something different and I actually love being different, FTW I do whatever the fuck I want as long as I'm not hurting anyone

    For the record, Chiva Falls trail can be done in a 1996 Extracab Taco, with side-sliders, a 3" Toytech lift and 31" tires, with no problems. You will, of course, have to use a few of the easier lines, but it will handle most stuff (including the Notch) pretty capably. Just pick your lines well, have a good spotter, and -crawl-.
    That said, I'm eagerly awaiting the production of a RCLT kit for the 1rst-gen Tacos. I really wish they'd hurry up get that sorted....

Apparently my Sequoia has gone viral. People from Tucson all the way up the Flagstaff and know about it. Some guy has been calling Nicole at total chaos and impersonating me and asking questions about my truck. Really didn't intend for It to go viral. I installed AGPS tracker in it now because of that. Anyway if you ever get up to Prescott we should go wheeling sometime. I have a few u tubers looking for me to doa walk around. It was the talk at the expo in Flagstaff. Everybody has been looking for what I heard and no one can find a nicer 1st generation Toyota Sequoia build than mine. I didn't build it to be nicer I built it for durability and function.
