You really need a boat to get amongst some serious action. Well done.
It definitely makes it easier mate. We used to fish this area land based as young blokes and did just as well but certainly did it tougher.

Don’t remember exactly mate but it was most like 12lb siglon braid with 10lb Yamatoyo leader
