It's the biggest news of my car buying life so far, perhaps even bigger than my GT Black Series and I’ve literally been jumping around with glee for the past month since I got the news! I’ve been desperate to tell you guys about it too, but I didn’t want to do a typical “sit around a configurator with a salesman” yawnfest. Instead we do things the RBR way, as I take you through my full #Porsche car history with some cool throwbacks (you’ll even see my dad 🥹).
Then we will spec my car virtually using VFX, on top of Porsche GB’s newly arrived Spyder RS press car finished in white with the Weissach package! We’ll have a proper look around the press car too, and have a listen to the exhaust note and process air intake noises of the little beast!
How do you get allocation for a Porsche GT car? I want to fill you in on my journey, so you understand how YOU can be in with a chance with these rarer cars too. You seriously have to go for the Coupe with the Lightweight Carbon Roof and Heritage Houndstooth and GT wheels. Its a million miles better than the other two. Like a TGT but more economical.

I am not so sure about the Cayenne, personally i would have chosen a panamera sport saloon or sport turismo. But for cayenne, i think the 2nd one is the best.

These are such great cars. I have a Spyder that I love and I’m looking for an allocation for the SRS. However, I don’t like the look of the WP as for me the car looks better without it, specifically the hood, hence, people painting over the carbon fiber. Really enjoy your superb reviews.

Well done Raz…I like the configuration you have made…the interior is a bit limited choice as I would have liked a more blue or even tan theme but you will sort that out. Now I can’t buy a 718 as my wife has agility problems and just can’t get in one so I’m a Macan/ Cayenne customer and the Cayenne Hybrid is on the list as the Macan is now very old but I like bright colours and interiors…I hate black, not sold on dull metallic grey, white makes the car look too big and seeing the new Ruby and dark purple colours was a disappointment so maybe blue with the grey interior, Neodyne wheels perhaps??….but all with hints of colour in seat belts, dials etc….time to head back to the configurator!! Yes..a joint video with Joe would be a great idea…take Petrol Ped as well and do a two car road driving swap epic to the Artic Circle next May…😎😎😎😎😃😃😃

Got an allocation last week for a gt4rs after only owning a new cayenne from 2019-2022 and a used 2020 gt4 since summer -22. Been on the list for RS allocation since july this year so only 4 month wait untill i got an spot. Will be manufactured end of april -24. And at sticker price, no markup.
If I may ask, which country is this in? I understand if you don't want to share this of course, I'm just wondering what the local Porsche market looks like, since I can imagine that in some countries it's harder to get an allocation than in others, especially at sticker price

Truth is that each dealership is different. GT allocations are only done by the Dealer Principals so it depends on who that person is and what their motivation. Some absolutely take little brown envelopes as you joked about (but know it's true) in the video. A very rare few are more true to the brand and actually look for good customers that they think won't flip them. I think the most common type and the only type I have ever dealt with in the UK is the one who manages to sort his mates and other associates out with allocations, half of which then come straight back into the dealership where the dealer flips the cars themselves making big money all round.
The white spider left me cold, yours however 🤌🏻multi layered episode kept me hooked .
Do dealerships in the UK check other financing options outside of, say, Porsche Financing? Or do they only look for the financing specific to the brand? Here in the US they typically will try and steer you to the brand name financing, but will offer you other options through local or national banks as well.
I'm happy for your happiness though, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!

Surely it's better to get a loan from the bank where possible? As car finance companies have front loaded the interest on me in the form on a hire purchase fee.
Then charged me something like 4% for the remainder of the term. When in reality over 5 years it was shown as 9.9%.
I once bought a new car from Toyota with a pretty decent discount and drove out of the showroom owing more than the list price.
Did you say that you haven’t driven the GT4 yet? Have I got that right? If that’s the case I strongly suggest you ask Porsche for their press car for a few days. The noise levels have been mentioned in the comments already, I know someone who purchased a GT4 and handed it back within a couple of months, the volume inside the car made his ears ring which is a sign of damage. I see the guy from Cars with Luke has also swapped his for a GT3 RS for the same reason. Not wishing to burst your bubble, the process of buying a new car is so exciting, just don’t want you to be disappointed at the end.
