I took one out a couple of weeks back. It had another couple of hundred miles on it than the one you rode. I didn’t have any vibration issues, either from the pegs or the bars. Briefly saw north of 80, but that’s not anywhere I plan going often. I think it will make an ideal A/B road machine. It’s exactly what I was looking for, and I have ordered one. I tried a CRF300L which was uncomfortable, awkward, vibey and much less confidence inspiring, a Hntr 350 which felt cheap and underpowered, and a Scram 411 which was heavy, cheap and underpowered.
For me the performance is not an issue, it looks absolutely fantastic, and it’s 5.5 K!! It’s a no brainier imo , I had the Speed Triple 1200Rs and I’ll be 💯 honest you’ll have more fun on this I promise you that! Especially the Uk roads are absolute dog shit! For an everyday bike you need 2 things 1 Soft af suspension and 2 Good fuel economy and that’s about it , it’s 20,30,40 mph in most places so 40 bhp is enough. That’s my opinion anyway Good review 👍🏾✔️👌🏽
Yeah, it's a great bike for the sort of back roads I ride on as you can see. I've got a couple of other bikes too, but agree... I loved my Gsxr1000R but was wasted on the road and we don't really have the tracks in the uk to stretch its legs properly. Less is Definitely more! And i really liked this bike, had alot of versatility and flexibiity to offer. I liked the 1200RS when I test rode one (albeit a short ride) but was smitten by another Gsxr at the time. Totally agree, the scrambler offers an awful lot for everyday use. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, it's appreciated. 👍😎😁
@@twistandgo3414 definitely 👍🏾 I never went over 7000 rpm on my Speed triple and that’s the truth , 5th gear at 7000 rpm and it’s a struggle to even hold on , don’t get me wrong the bike is an absolute masterpiece of engineering but it’s just a total waste of a bike!
@@Cartsp70 yeah, been tempted by the 1200RR, but I love my 765RS and was keeping up with my mate on his GSXR1000R at donny without much issue. I certainly know who was having more fun! Can't wait to get it back on track now it's been tuned and would like to do a back to back with the 1200RS now too. Regardless, Both great bikes but the 765 is a riot to ride.
@@twistandgo3414 yeah agree, the new RS came out literally just after I bought the 1200 , I’ve ridden the RS and I found it a bit underwhelming 😂obviously It doesn’t have the 180 hp that launches you into orbit! But yeah like I always say it’s not about that it’s about living with the bike day to day and after a couple of hours on the 1200 you just want to get off the thing 😂👍🏾
@@Cartsp70 yeah, mine is tuned now, 130bhp at the wheel and feels like how it should have done from the off. it’s no straight line monster like my Gsxr1000R was, but it’s more fun more of the time. That said, could be tempted in the future by an electronically suspended 1200RS which looks like might be on the cards from triumph.
I just found your Channel, great video. I am the same height and weight as you, so this helped me immensely. The shot of you sitting on the bike was also very helpful to gauge what I would look like on it. I'm defiantly getting serious about ordering one. Initially I was leaning towards the green, but that black and silver look stunning. Thank you for the great video!
That's great! Glad it was helpful! 😁👍. Yeah, it's really comfy for the taller rider, was quite taken by it myself. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Cheers mate! Another 6’4” fellah here, although when I converted 110kg. to stone, I realised you are a wee bit heavier than me… but I’m a bag of bones. 😁😁 Loving everything I’ve seen about these bikes, need to go and get a test ride.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yeah, I could prob do with losing about 5kg / 11lbs in honesty! 😂. But yeah, it's pretty comfy (at least I found it to be). Def worth a test ride to see what you think and if it works for you. I found the suspension ok for me even on standard settings but someone that's alot lighter may find the suspension to be firm? I don't know... Only based on my experience of course. As standard, it Certainly wasnt as soft as my G310GS or Crf250L. Hope you enjoy your rest ride. 😎👍
My friend owns one of these bikes in India , so i looked at buying one when they came to the UK but to my amazement they are double the price here £5,000 ????? £2,500 in India or less ??? Why so much difference??

I bought the 400x last week . As existing RE's 500 & 650 owner, this bike is lighter, quicker off the blocks and easier to ride in traffic. Mostly i use my 650 parallel twin for touring but want to try out the Scrambler400x for touring in the mountains....it has enough torque to negate need for too many gear changes. What it lacks is the top end..after 90kmph that engine doesnt want to be pushed though it has a top speed of 150kmph. Mostly i got it for those quintessential English looks
Sounds great! Yeah, sadly the royal enfields aren't as easy to come by where I am at the minute, hopefully they make a return though as I've always quite liked the 650 models. For sure, cruising around mountain roads and away from the A roads is exactly what it's about, although you're right, it will certainly do a bit of touring too. Enjoy the new bike when it comes and thanks for watching. I'm really quite keen myself.
It's really comfy, not an issue at all, which surprised me. But then my Honda monkey isn't bad either, but I did fit flatter bars to that, which is fine now. For longer and more intrepid adventures off road, it ideally needs bar risers but not exactly a deal breaker. Thanks for watching and for commenting, it's really appreciated.
Tried one last week most awkward ride glad to get back on my speed twin 1200 . Ps it did look and sound nice apart from the colour green ,oh a 30 ml ride in the pissing rain 😂 pps glad you had a nice sunny ride
@@twistandgo3414 I’m 5ft 10 1/2 too uncomfortable for my hips and gear change and foot pegs too clunky, I will be trying the speed 400 , my reason was to get something a little lighter as I’m 75 in April but I think I’ve been spoilt as the speed twin 1200 is such a comfortable and brilliant ride albeit a bit heavy in the garage for cleaning 🧼🤨
@@FredWilbury ah ok, that's interesting, 1200 is a lovely bike, but yeah, they're not light. I really like them! Quite fancy a test ride again I have to say. Could be something in these newer midi type scooters too...looking to try something at some stage. Hope you have success with the speed 400.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Always hard knowing how long to make them. Too short and don't always get to cover potential ownership experience or aspects of the bike and too long, people just get bored! 😂. I try to keep them less than 30 mins, but any feedback is always Helpful and appreciated. 👍😎
It would do it and it's far more generous than the pillion seat on my 765RS! 😂. At the end of the day, if you're buying the bike for taking pillion on alot of the time, you're probably looking at the wrong the bike.
My lad and I took one out earlier this month and he said it was very comfortable on the back compared to my CBR500R. Neither of us are massive though, so if both the rider and pillion are generously endowed in the backside department then it’s probably going to be a different story.
@@knackeredrovers exactly my thoughts. The pillion space is much better than other bikes, but also understandably not as Good as others!
