Thank you for recommending island saver, I've been looking for a game that gives me the same feeling I had when playing viva piñata, I love slime rancher but it's not even close mechamic-wise and island saver seems to be a great and educational spiritual successor, great video
I’ve played or at least heard of most of these, and it’s so great to see these indie gems getting some love. Another amazing one is Fe- atmospheric platformer with amazing music and a really touching story. I never see that one recommended anywhere and it’s fabulous.
There's this indie company called 'Klei Entertainment' where not only does it treat it's employees with fairness, but also creates games with reasonable budgets and fantastic art. Examples include Don't Starve, Oxygen Not Included, and their 2D animated mature games Shank, Shank 2, Mark of the Ninja Remastered and Griftlands.
What Remains of Edith Finch is also an amazing game, it has a great story, small “puzzles” and it’s about 2 hours in playtime. It’s on ps extra but it also goes on sale (now it’s 5$)
*3:37* I am *SO* glad you mentioned these two games... The FAR duology is honestly one of the most atmospheric games ever made. Lone Sails specifically is one of my all time favourite individual experiences. Spoilers for that game, but the gigantic walker sequence is one of the most raw, epic and plain cool things I've ever got to witness in a video game, and of course, the part when your vehicle falls off a cliff during the ending volcano bit and breaks in half was heartbreaking. The game's ending genuinely made me tear up a little, which is impressive, considering I have barely ever shed a tear to _ANY_ piece of media, let alone a video game. My round of applause goes to the creators of Lone Sails, for giving birth to one of the most immersive and moody experiences, possibly of all time.
Love the video. I wishlished FAR Lone Sails and Changing Tides. Some other recommendations, in no particular order: • A Short Hike - relaxing exploration adventure • Shady Part of Me - story rich puzzle platformer • 140 - minimalistic rhythm based platformer • Animal Well - metroidvania like puzzle platformer (without the combat, but with frakking hard puzzles) • One Dreamer - story rich point and click adventure with programming logic • Detective Grimoire - story rich point and click adventure with humor
How. How does one with this much quality not get push in the algorithm. So happy that youtube recommended me this video! You deserve so much with this quality and detail. Easy Sub. thanks for so many great games to try out! Hearing My time at Portia is as good as it seemed has sold me on finally trying it.
Nice selection, have half, so great minds. One to add would be The Last Craftsman, cheap and a pure joy. This developer has taken the Stardew idea and turned it on it's head. Prepare yourself for adventure, exploration and the easiest and best crop planting ever! The real twist in the game, is that a chopped tree is not just wood. Oh no, it can be wood, a color and also an attribute, like sad, spooky or hard. Anothe plus over Stardew, has to be fishing. Stardew had be screaming, sure I was rubbish. Should fishing be so hard though? The plus here is that the tag system really plays a part, as fishing early in game really helps you find obscure tags. Such a breath of fresh air on a sometimes jadded genre.
I play loads of indie games there are lots of little gems they are short mostly great stories and while they not at times voiced well they are fun and cheap winner all round and most of these I've played
Wow these are some pretty awesome recommendations! I need to play some of these! Sorta surprised I didn’t see Hollow Knight, Celeste, or Undertale at all though. Great video though and some of these games look awesome and I need to play!
I like RPGs, and if you want a great indie RPG made by single devs, you should check out Cave of Lore and Stellar Tactics, both are isometric party-based RPGs. CoL is fantasy, ST is Sci-Fi. Both offer 100-hour games for under $20!
@@hoodedbeasts I will add that if you ever plan on doing lists like this in the future to include important details such as platforms available and player count. These things are always included when a game is advertised for a reason.
Great video unfortunately I played almost half of the games you recommended but I enjoyed the video nonetheless ( btw you should do indie game reviews )
This is an incredible video essay and really sells me on these games!! You definitely deserve some more recognition, I hope this video gets shared to the audience it deserves 😁
Since you mention Portia, you should give it's sequel My Time at Sandrock, which is, imo, 100 times better than Portia. Also a lot of these games look amazing. Thanks for sharing!
PLEASE check out Into the Breach. It’s a tactics game that feels like Chess went on a bender. It’s incredibly rewarding for such a no-frills turn based game. Can’t say enough good things for the game design.
Portia has strict time limits as you progress. There is no idle time, you always have to have 8 furnaces running or the main quests will just pass you by, along with tens of thousands of money that then leaves you further behind. I love the game, but you should know this before playing.
bro you could just pause it like i did or not be so rude about it. just like an example "If you could for next time you do one of these listing of games have a screen that shows the games and their prices a bit longer than what you did? I feel like me pausing or going back takes away from the pacing of the video."
Vintage story is a great indie game unfortunately it’s not on steam but i put 100 hours in my survival world the first time I played it and I barely got past iron tools
Check out Slice & Dice! It's the best game ever (at least for me) :D It's basically a Darkest Dungeon with dice combat. It's super unique game and i love it!
you made me buy far lone sails for 1,49 € on the switch and i had some spare gold points so it basically cost me 30 cents. lets see what the fuss is all about
Is there one of these for people for whom cozy games are terribly, terribly dull? I can't help it. video games have trained me to need a lot of stimulation!
Thank you for recommending island saver, I've been looking for a game that gives me the same feeling I had when playing viva piñata, I love slime rancher but it's not even close mechamic-wise and island saver seems to be a great and educational spiritual successor, great video
u should try loddlenaut, it have the same vibes!
Just to say: I would never have known that you didn’t already have thousands of subscribers. Because your video quality is just top-notch!
I’ve played or at least heard of most of these, and it’s so great to see these indie gems getting some love. Another amazing one is Fe- atmospheric platformer with amazing music and a really touching story. I never see that one recommended anywhere and it’s fabulous.

They just released rotwood on early access, it's awesome
Awesome video, always love to hear someone talk about fun indies to pick up!
This is a really great list and wonderfully composed video!
What Remains of Edith Finch is also an amazing game, it has a great story, small “puzzles” and it’s about 2 hours in playtime. It’s on ps extra but it also goes on sale (now it’s 5$)
HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALBA!!! ITS SO COZY
as someone always looking for new indies to give a shot, i was surprised just how many of these i had never heard of, good video!
really high quality games in a really high quality video! Thanks for the reccomendations!

great video! extremely high quality, great recommendations (with lots of variety!). thanks so much for making it :)

Glad you enjoyed the video :) A Short Hike is awesome! I’ll have to check out the others, thanks for the suggestions!
My Nephew had a really good time with Rain on your Parade, super recommended for kids.
I had playerd Firewatch. Very interesting story and ganeplay mechanics.
I put lots of these in my wishlist, thanks!

Hearing My time at Portia is as good as it seemed has sold me on finally trying it.
Wow thank you so much! Hope you enjoy the game!
Thanks for the list. I've added a bunch of these games to my steam wishlist! Great video. Earned yourself a new sub!

Im glad they spoke to you! Enjoy :)
Great video! Island saver really reminded me of viva piñata which I loved back in the day
Viva Pinata was and still is a certified banger!
I will try a lot of these games, they seem really fun
Great list! I also suggest Slime Rancher, that's been on sale for $5 which is an absolute steal!
Solid recommendations!
I’d add sludge life and Felvidek to this list too! Both really cool 4-6 hour games

great video man! Solid game recs and you got a lovely voice to listen to! I dont say this often but u got a subscriber!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Rake in a laaaake.
Seriously though Great video!
Great list, lots I didn't know of. I bought the first far and added island save. Wishlisted a bunch more to, cheers :)
Good choices! Enjoy the cozy gaming
This is an incredible video essay and really sells me on these games!! You definitely deserve some more recognition, I hope this video gets shared to the audience it deserves 😁
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words :)

A very cool list! Also, you should also check out My time in Sandrock, the sequel of My time in Portia and is just as great n_n
Thank you for the list!
PLEASE check out Into the Breach. It’s a tactics game that feels like Chess went on a bender. It’s incredibly rewarding for such a no-frills turn based game. Can’t say enough good things for the game design.
Another great game is Mages of Mystralia. You create your own spells for combat and puzzles. Takes about 10 - 12 hours to 100%.
Portia has strict time limits as you progress. There is no idle time, you always have to have 8 furnaces running or the main quests will just pass you by, along with tens of thousands of money that then leaves you further behind.
I love the game, but you should know this before playing.
There is a sequel to My Time at Portia, titled My Time at Sand Rock. This game is awesome and also has a multiplayer mode. Check it out!
My favourite indie game is My Summer Car.
Amazing video bro! 🤙
Great video, new sub
I really would have appreciated having those title cards up for more than a second.
bro you could just pause it like i did or not be so rude about it. just like an example "If you could for next time you do one of these listing of games have a screen that shows the games and their prices a bit longer than what you did? in case anyone is wondering abzu is on sale for 5$ and ends june 27
My main base just has completely different flora now. Gone from earth-like trees to glowing mushrooms. I like it to an extent but it not great
Great video games look really cool
Vintage story is a great indie game unfortunately it’s not on steam but i put 100 hours in my survival world the first time I played it and I barely got past iron tools
Where did you get it? Is it 2d like Terraria or 3d?
Check out Slice & Dice! It's the best game ever (at least for me) :D It's basically a Darkest Dungeon with dice combat. It's super unique game and i love it!
good video man
I'd add Carnal to the list (if it's not on it already). Apparently it's a buck or two on Steam and that boomer shooter is worth it.
If you like games about nature from indie developers I think you’d really like Terra Nil!
You deserved 100k at least
Thank you!
you made me buy far lone sails for 1,49 € on the switch and i had some spare gold points so it basically cost me 30 cents. lets see what the fuss is all about
Slay the Spire. Literally the best card game in the world and it's only $5.
I can’t wait for StS 2.
Nice
What's the music you used in the Island Saver segment?
“Spring (The Valley Comes Alive)” from the Stardew Valley OST
@@hoodedbeasts thank you!
Is there one of these for people for whom cozy games are terribly, terribly dull?
I can't help it. video games have trained me to need a lot of stimulation!
0:00 pirate games
Like for the 4th and the 11th ones ❤❤
BOS refrence caught me off guardXD
Superliminal is top tier
firewatch is so fucking good
Steamunlocked 💪
What's the song at 5:05
Depending on which one you're referring to, it's either "Colored Engine" by Joel Schoch or "Stay in Your Tower and Watch" by Chris Remo
@@hoodedbeasts it was colored engine, thanks. Also amazing video, keep it up
Gaming has never been expensive.
Goose.
…..did you actually mention indie games without bringing up UNDERTALE OR DELTARUNE??
Haven't played them but have heard good things! Thanks for the suggestions :)
