Wow my guy. That is one heck of a style..... That's how I learned bass, playing guitar sideways and playing like that. Jeff Healy would be VERY proud of you. So don't stop!
not knocking the kid but this style of percussive playing always sounds the same to me its tuned to an open chord so you are limited to what you can do with it , no matter who is demonstrating it it always sounds like they use the same little tricks over and over again , its impressive to someone who has never picked up a guitar , but a lot of things are , i play guitar pretty avarage but people who hear me play for the first time think im some kind of genius on the guitar because i know how to play the thing to the best of my ability , its not genius, its one trick and lick after the other until it sounds good
If you can´t hear a difference in this kind of music used by artists like preston reed, usman riaz or justin king...man I´m sorry for you. Limited because you just have another tuning ? and you don´´t use licks and tricks on the normal tuning until it´s sounds good ?
Completely agree with you. This is just another style of guitar playing. To be honest, after listening to it for about 2mins I already became bored. I'm not judging the kid or his playing, but I've been playing guitar for over 7years and I can definitely say that there are millions of guitar players in the world; there's nothing special about at all.
this is not a talent it's just because people are just getting to see abnormal position of guitar with random annoyed tuning when it comes to it's real positiin it's harder than that
There is no real position, so long as you can play in that position, then it its real! The most common position is the traditional way, however it isn't particular harder then the way that this person is playing. An example of this is the drums. There is two main ways of playing it, your 'rock grip' ( what most people learn) but there is also your traditional grip (used for marching bands but most commonly used in jazz). Just because there is one main way to play the instrument doesn't mean you need to play it that way. This is a very talented performer! and if you can understand the difficulty of playing something like that then maybe you might have a bit more respect for it.
This kid is a perfect example of how music is ever evolving just by playing what he feels . Thank you for sharing Chris you inspire me
No worries! Thank U

Who said there's a 'real' position? As long as there's beautiful music coming out of the guitar then that is real talent
I repeat "annoyed music "
