A friend of mine inherited a purse from a close friend when she passed, we were on a trip to Mexico and she pulled out the purse to use while we went shopping. In a pocket she found a $100 bill, she said “ Lois wanted us to have new dresses”, so we each got a new dress that day. Thanks to Lois
I love the ring story! I picked up a pair of men's Levi jeans at the bins. When I got home I started to put them in the washing machine and checked the pockets and found a $20.00 bill! A very nice surprise!
Another great video Karen. Thank you. It's 1.30pm here in UK so I'm off to the charity shops.... now that you have encouraged me.... they all opened again on Monday. YEH. Have a good day.
My husband and I work construction and buy Aetrex always for our work boots. They are absolutely the best! They also have insoles for people with high arches. Such lifesavers that I have ebay notifications set for our specific styles so when they're available or a good price I can snatch them up. So good to see someone who understands and makes them available. And that brass candle holder is to die for!! If I lived closer I'd be messaging to get it. I believe it's a prayer candle holder and can range from $50-$200
I bought two pieces of Roseville last week at my local GW. Blue Zephyr Lily. Paid $16 for both and listed them together. They sold last night for full asking price of $125!
M D F stands for Medium Density Fiberboard. Looked it up myself as I was curious to what it stood for as well. Learned a couple of other things from you today. Thank you for sharing.
Once bought a repro Roseville wall pocket and one trait of repro pieces may be a gritty, dry feeling surface due probably to the color or glaze having been sprayed on. Usually older made pieces feel smooth, satiny and look well blended plus having the interior fully glazed. In the old days, quality was important as a selling point.
My very favorite UA-cam reseller of all time! This video has so much great information in it, Karen, and I'm so appreciative of your broad knowledge base.😊 I never fail to learn some little--or big!--something that I didn't know before. Love, love, love--triple love that!
The pyrex bowls are "Homestead" pattern and are getting more popular. A set of 4 sold for 69.99 plus $17 shipping. Great finds, thanks for sharing with us ☺
I always love, love, love your videos but, wow did this one hit close to home! Pizzelles are my treat of choice. I love making them and love eating them. My grandmother made them all of the time. I took over. (and , by the way, the pizzelle maker you found is, IMO, the best out there). Her husband, my grandfather, was a plumber. I have all of his pipe cutters. I love them. Hint, you can use them to cut down the posts on the Metro-type wire shelves!
I was screaming, WATCH OUT FOR THE LIGHT, when you backed up. You have that beautiful chandelier to keep in one piece The hall was overdue and Karen, you are entertaining as always. Also have an eye to pick up the best shoes. Thanks!
Hi Karen, my Italian Grandmother had a pizzelle iron to make those Italian dough confections, she would have been shocked and give “the side eye” to see that there was a machine to create them LOL Cheers, Pat
Hi Karen!! You are my hero. I watch your videos and I am always in awe of how you manage everything so perfectly. I am a small time seller, my house is always needing cleaning, I have rooms full of death piles, and my hair is a mess and I look at you, you are organized, your house is meticulous and your hair is beautifully coifed. 😆 🤣 😂 I always aspire to be like you and even though I fail miserably you inspire me and give me hope.. Love ya girl, xoxo Lori K / Fox Tail Collectables 🌹 🥀 🏵 💐 🌹 🥀 🏵 💐 🌹 🥀 🏵 💐 🌹 🥀 🏵 💐 🌹 🥀 🏵 💐 🌹 🥀 🏵
I have a burning question: would you consider doing a video on just EXACTLY how you manage your pricing structure to a video on just EXACTLY how you intermittent SALES on your items? Do you do store-wide sales? Or particular category sales... or whatever? How do you decide what to put on sale, how much of a reduction you are offering, when to initiate that sale, and how long to run it? A lot of questions, I know, so a video from you outlining a comprehensive overview of how you manage these aspects of reselling would be immensely valuable for me, and possibly others... any chance of filling that big order for all of your loyal fans...? 😏 Thanks for your continual generosity and willingness to always share your experiences with us. They are greatly appreciated. 😘
I enjoyed todays' haul - all hauls lol. I'll be babysitting my middle grandchild; my 8.5 yr. old grandson 30 minutes away, this month, but I take my laptop for UA-cam 'breaks
Karen, I'm so impressed with all the items you find. You have a great eye. Also your Goodwills have a great inventory of items at very low prices. Nothing of sorts here where I live. Prices are outrageous and it's all junk.
Just bought a pair of suede Merrill shoes but didn’t know about the numbers inside or how to clean them. I also learned about Nike shoes and the numbers inside to identify them. Thank you so much for that info as well as info regarding what brands are good sellers. You do so well explaining things. Thank you!!
Yes, there is a pink lady apple. Also you are correct about Roseville. I considered collecting years ago and identifying an authentic Roseville or Mc Coy marking was very tricky. I’m glad I passed because the market has tanked since then. Ecco shoes I love! Murrells also are my go to shoe. You hit the shoe mother load .
Hi Karen - thanks for mentioning the USPS padded mailers! I was checking my supply and noticed I needed to order more, and then I forgot...I WFH full time so I’m only a part time reseller on Poshmark. Finally taking a coffee break and watching your video and sure enough...once again...you help me out! Cheers, Katia (Nala is ignoring me and is curled up with her sister Luna 🐱🐱)
I think a painter might like the silverware box for brushes and paints, I'd try to save it from the garbage, but I'm learning to pick less projects lol, that was a great buy though! :)
They can be transformed into a beautiful jewelry box or memory box, with some chalk paint, wax and molds. There are also transfers available for creators too, or some beautiful paper for decoupage. It’s one of my Bolo’s. I still have my mothers silver box as well.
A Cutlery Chest is also known as a Canteen. I often seperate the Cutlery if there are tablespoons or serving items I check then more often sell separate for more $ Especially if the Canteen isnt perfect.❤ your videos Sue 🌼🇦🇺
A gentle FYI: We love love our large red Geo. Foreman grill and use it all the time, at least once a week for quesadillas, grilled cheese, burritos... found at our local thrift for $10.00 -- Worth every bit! -- Flatware chest; I too, fixed one, there's a stain stick/pencil, that will cover scratches! Works great! Then polished it. Sold my flatware with chest; buyer loved it, 'cuz it keeps from polishing. Some buyers love the chest... My Shipping w chest, buyer paid -- was $45.00...
Hey, I've been to Mount Joy!!! When I was 16, visited a friend. I fell in love with shoo fly pie and collect those recipes to this day. Hmmm I need to make a shoo fly pie soon. Yum. Such fun stuff. I occasionally pick up hardgoods but not much. Very helpful information. Thank you. Pizzelle ( Italian pronunciation: [pitˈtsɛlle] Like "peet za" it has that t sound.
A childhood neighbor had 2 of those huge brass candle holders that they purchased in the Philippines in the mid 60’s. Fond memory for me, thanks! Peace
This is weird, I feel like I was with you on this haul. However, when you bring something out I didn’t see I’m confused. I must have ran to the bathroom!! 🤣😳❤️
Good morning Karen! WoW at that baker comp! I have a cling peach tree that resembles your metal kettle fruits, they aren't much bigger than their flowers and soooo juicy yummy! The color turning at the bottom of yours makes me think peaches (?) Loving the info, I always learn something from you, and I thank you! I
I love selling flatware. I get the most bang for my buck that way. I don’t even sell whole sets most of the time. It’s better if the pattern is sold out on replacements.
Omg I wish I lived near you, I’d buy sooo much 😂 I absolutely love that brass candle holder it would look so good in my patio. I’m going to look and see if there’s anything like it in Australia
the large brass candlestick looks like it could be liturgical hardware (items used in worship). If so, they are very expensive. you can do an internet search. That one could be for a Christ Candle, for example.
Often the blades on the knives are stainless, even when the handles are something else, since stainless wears better then other metals. I check the forks and spoons to see what the other metal is likely to be.
If not too personal a question, I was just curious what type of work you did before you got into reselling things from thrift shops? Did you ever shop at thrift shops for yourself only, BEFORE you got into reselling? How did you get into reselling and was it hard to do in the very beginning? Thank you.
Whenever I garage sale and looking at coats I check the pockets for holes. One time I found a lot of money. Not sure how much but I saw some 20s. I took it to the women having the sale and she was surprised. Then I checked the other coats and sure enough, more money. She said whenever she shops she just puts the change in her pockets. Some people don't check pockets or purses before putting them out for sale. Not good.
Love you Karen ! I’m a cat Mom and I absolutely love my little Susie. I wonder do you ever come across size 17 or 18 men’s shoe . My son is a big guy and always has to special order shoes.
Looked like a great haul :). I noticed that your music seems a little quieter. Thank you for doing that! It was a little hard to hear you at the beginning of your videos. :)
I was always told that all 1847 William Rogers patterns were silver plate, not stainless steel. The cutting portion of the knives might be stainless , but supposedly the set should be silver plate. I've got a set of 1940's Oneida Community silver plate "Milady" that I love to use instead of my sterling silver because I actually have a full set of it! Ha.
Love your channel. You mentioned the two methods by which you usually ship: bubble mailer and regional I think. Would you use one of those to ship the little violet-print sugar and creamer in the video? Or something else?
A friend of mine inherited a purse from a close friend when she passed, we were on a trip to Mexico and she pulled out the purse to use while we went shopping. In a pocket she found a $100 bill, she said “ Lois wanted us to have new dresses”, so we each got a new dress that day. Thanks to Lois

A lot of great terminology today regarding the shoe descriptions. Thank you!

I’m drooling over the man wearing those black dress shoes. 😆

"Bar Keeper's Friend" cleaner will often take off those gray lines that are left from beaters or utensils on Pyrex!
An absolute pleasure to spend time with you Karen. Your knowledge is amazing and you find such wonderful items. Much love from Scotland xx

I have the set of Pyrex, got them as a wedding gift in 1978!
Wish I still had mine, I got married in 78.

Love your channel - and your new hair style! Thanks much.
That could also be a plate rack....great score
Yes pink lady apples are real and delicious! Taste even better if you have it with a nature valley peanut butter granola bar 😋
Mom had that Pyrex pattern...sweet. Well I loved that Roseville. Know nothing but thank you.
Karen your videos are outstanding...not only do I learn from you but I learn from the comments as well!!

Your seashell holds pictures too! The repro Roseville even looks fakey, the colors are all wrong but pretty
Thanks once again for valuable info and advice!!

It stands for Medium Density Fibreboard
Ecco is very popular in Scandinavia.
Enjoyed the video. Love your explanations and obvious joy in the items you pick up!

Watching you on my break
Looking forward to more hauls
God Bless
I think a game is a great idea!
Love the handbag, very nice.
Great information once again 👏. Thank you Karen 😊
Oooh tempted by that vintage dooney & burke. Thanks for sharing your haul!
Thanks for the Roseville tip.
I enjoy you so much. Thanks for all the great info 😊
MDF - multi density fiberboard
I love men’s leather sole dress shoes. Plus some wild dress socks. Of course the man wearing them sometimes makes them even better.
Absolutely! 😎
I have those bowls, the big one I accidentally broke. Received them in 1986. Love watching!

🤣
Pottery Barn on FB marketplace is a great idea!
Karen, are you using those lights behind you for all pictures, or do you use any soft box style ? Thanks so much ! Susan
Im always alternating lights 😁
I'm looking for smaller light like that. What is the name of them?
That flatware!!! 🥰
MDF is medium density fiberboard
Good morning Karen!
WoW at that baker comp!
I have a cling peach tree that resembles your metal kettle fruits, they aren't much bigger than their flowers and soooo juicy yummy! The color turning at the bottom of yours makes me think peaches (?)

Pyrex pattern is Homestead
Omg I wish I lived near you, I’d buy sooo much 😂 I absolutely love that brass candle holder it would look so good in my patio. I’m going to look and see if there’s anything like it in Australia
MDF= Medium Density Fiberboard. MDO = Medium Density Overlay, which is a better quality, being a plywood core with very smooth paintable top coatings.
Love your videos. Your always so honest and funny! I don’t know much about anything🙄
Good day. The candle stick looks like something from a church. They almost always use brass
Absolutely LOVE the brass candle holder. Could it have been originally from a church? Fabulous finds 😀
MDF......Medium density fiberboard.
Reminder ......Liquid Bar Keepers Friend removes the silver mark scratches from bowls, cups, etc. I learned that from Jeffrey of Real Nifty Vintage.
The powdered version of BKF also removes those pesky grey utensil marks in a flash.
My grandma used to treat us to homemade pizzelles @ Christmas time.
You are such a nice person. Thank you for the information. I'm not going to use it. Just enjoying watching :)
the large brass candlestick looks like it could be liturgical hardware (items used in worship). If so, they are very expensive. you can do an internet search. That one could be for a Christ Candle, for example.
Thanks. I found a pair of smaller ones similar to this and that is a great keyword!
That flatware sure looks silver/silver plated to me. The handles are a different color from the stainless part.
Often the blades on the knives are stainless, even when the handles are something else, since stainless wears better then other metals. I check the forks and spoons to see what the other metal is likely to be.
@@bhenry4405 Exactly. That's why I think the handles are silver plated. If they were solid stainless there would be no difference.

I think the Pyrex pattern is called Colonial Mist.
Medium density fiberboard!
Wow good price for the pie Rex
In Italian you pronounce all letters, even the double consonants piz-zel-le. Or in English peez-zel-lay.
Looked like a great haul :). I noticed that your music seems a little quieter. Thank you for doing that! It was a little hard to hear you at the beginning of your videos. :)
Great video ilovet thanks for sharing.
Practicing listening with my new cochlear implant! ❤
Nice finds Karen🤗❤️🙏🏻
Medium density fiberboard
Karen I think your brass piece may be a James Mont Hollywood Regency Candle Holder! Do some research before you sell it! Incredible.
Really informative and interesting, loved this video 🙂
Are those lights behind you, next to the wall, the ones you use to take photographs? I like that they are more compact than the big ones!
I use them for videos 😁
I was always told that all 1847 William Rogers patterns were silver plate, not stainless steel. The cutting portion of the knives might be stainless , but supposedly the set should be silver plate. I am sure it is silverplate
Love your channel. You mentioned the two methods by which you usually ship: bubble mailer and regional I think. Would you use one of those to ship the little violet-print sugar and creamer in the video? Or something else?
Nobody in their right mind would ship those in a bubble mailer! 😳
Nice angle of your camera today!
