Just found your channel. Very happy to find another female hard-good flipper. About 11:30-ish you moved a leather portfolio that looks like a Bosca, RV $300. I found one in my very first haul video that I posted just two weeks ago!
The two pictures you called needlepoint are called embroidery if cotton/rayon thread was used; and if wool was used, it is called crewel work. Needlepoint is the same in and out stitch throughout the entire picture. You might encounter the term counted stitch for needlepoint as well. Embroidery will generally be multiple varieties of stitches. The same for crewel work, multiple styles of stitches.
I learn so much from your videos, both because of the large variety of items you sell and because you share so much information and thought processes. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
Your videos keep me inspired and motivated! Thank you for your consistent uploads, positive vibe, and knowledge! Always excited to watch what treasure you find!
There is something about your voice that's so calming.lol! I have enjoyed watching your videos and they have inspired and motivated me as well...thank you!
As a new watcher, I’ve been catching up with your videos and I’m learning so much from you. Just the small things like a doll’s eyes is such a good thing to know. I look forward to the next video.
The pedestal mug with the yellow base and the birds on the front (right beside the kitty cat figurine), I remember my grandma having a set of those bird mugs in different colors in the early 70's. I snapped a quick picture of it with my phone and sent it to both of my sisters and they remembered immediately when I ask them if they recognised anything on the shelf. 🥰 She would make us hot tea in them... Bigelow Tea in either Constant Comment or Lemon Lift. Brings back such great memories of her.🥰
The cheapest I’ve ever seen that FAB Ultra Repair Creme was $20 at TJ MAXX. It’s actually very popular and only found at Ulta and Sephora. That creme is amazing!
Hi Karen. Great video. Love the smooth jazzy background music to.🎷🎺🎵 Fun. I went to thrift for the first time last week, and I too was the first one in the door. I thought surely people would be lined up outside, but nope. I had the whole store to myself for at least the first 30 minutes. I was all over that thrift store. I spent waaayyyy to much, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for continuing to share your reselling journey with us. 🌷🌺👍💖
You are so extremely fortunate to be able to source your items for those low low prices. Here in Canada these prices are non existent. Garage sales could be a bit better here but thrift stores not so much. Thanks for sharing & as always learning much from you.
Hi Karen! As a former Longaberger consultant over 20 years, you got some beauties this time!! In your video there was a dog bone basket with a lid. If you see it again, it can bring about $75. I saw it was $6.99 in your favorite isle. LOVE WATCHING!
I absolutely love that you added another wall hanging on the wall behind you on the right on your wall. It looks so totally awesome and balances so well with the room and your wall hanging on the left. Looks wonderful:)
Thank you for taking us shopping with you. I won't be thrifting for at least another four months, haven't been since March! I LOVE the music in this video.
The stitched picture of the little boy is called crewel or crewelwork. Embroidery is just the same back and forth stitch over and over. Crewel has many different stitches. Also, I'm surprised it has glass over it. Crewelwork should never have glass over it but it happens. I love crewel and collect it. I have a whole wall full of it!
Don't tell that to my mother and grandmother! Crewel traditionally uses a thread made of wool. Crewel uses "embroidery" stitches. Crewel is merely a word to describe the use of wool thread, but it is all embroidery work or embroidery stitches. People can do all of the same stitches that you would see on a crewel piece with embroidery thread made from rayon, polyester, cotton, or silk among others. I have made plenty of pillowcases with all of the same stitches used in crewel pieces.
Wow!! That was really a good haul!!! 👍👍 that bag with turtles and small bottles u got at 2:16 in the video...those small perfume bottles, the the carved ones....I had a couple of those when I was a kid actually..back in the early 70's, and my mom got them from Japan. Just a little info-tip if u didn't know😉👍
I am a fragrance Representative and I had to buy the beautiful bottle! Excited to find you. Where did you get those gorgeous plaques on the wall behind you? I LOVE them!
Fantastic and spectacular haul!! Numerous lovelies. I ADORE mens Obsession. I bought exactly that bottle earlier this year and spray it on our bed lol, my hubby doesn't like to use colognes or aftershave which is a shame! But I so love it. The lamp...😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 GORGEOUS!
I really enjoyed this video and found myself laughing out loud hearing some things that I say when reasoning. I like that you take on hard goods now because I think you make wise, interesting purchases.(still like the clothes) I like vintage glass and porcelain so I wish you would do more with that. Honestly, at first I thought you were " uppity" however, now you seem real, engaging and alot of fun to watch. Keep doing it. You have alot of class and you're becoming one of the best thrifters!
Hi, the Obsession bottle is small enough that you can put it in your luggage and take it to Florida and you or your daughter sell it there on Facebook Market place or Nextdoor ;it will probably sell well and fast there.Hats are something good also to take to Florida, cause summer is coming and people wear them, all tear round
Oh my! The needle point....I made the same one, of the boy. Framed in a oval mahogany frame. It was the 1st kitset I ever made, in the late 1970s . Wool thread on linen. The boy is from the German Hummel pottery in Munich, I think is where the factory was. Never seen another one before.
I went in our Goodwill the day they opened too. I found 4 Bath and Body 3 wick candles. A yankee candle gift set. A reed diffuser. French mill soap. A wax burner set. A wax burner with a moose on it for a friend. Some Amish books. A boy Amish doll I saw in Lancaster for 65 dollars I paid 4.00 dollars for it. I did well.
Am curious about what I think is a clay bowl ("ruffle" rim) at 4:28ish. You briefly pick up a small, white bowl first, put it back, then pan right and show the bowl I spy (nestled in others at 4:32). It reminds me of ones I grew up with (Mexican terra cotta and Chilean Pomaire pots and bowls). Ah, memories.
Styrofoam for glass has saved me a lot of heartaches. I get it free from the appliance store in my town. I have shipped over 1300 glass items and only 3 broke. Also, I label all 6 sides of the box with big letters "Fragile Glass". I started doing that when a nice FedEx employee told me that if it's glass it needed to be labeled on all sides. So I do that to all glass no matter which shipping company I'm using. Thanks for all the videos on what you buy they have inspired me to branch out and buy other items I normally wouldn't pick up.
You are doing a wonderful job. What are the fresco-like hangings behind you? You have a good eye for design and interesting items. Would love to see your house with commentary on thrift items. Would also like to see your shipping area and a couple of items being packaged.
You are brave. I went back into Goodwill and Savers today for the first time since the virus stay at home orders started in March. It just creeped me out going in there. I needed summer clothes. I got some but I will not be going back. I just don’t like the whole environment. The people in our area did wear masks but only kept their distance in the lines. Shoppers did not follow the lines and direction in aisles and were crossing over right in front of me to get what they wanted. . No carts in either of the two Goodwills were being sanitized. The Savers store carts werebeing cleaned well by the store manager. I just could not get a comfort level so I’ll just have to say no to thrifting for the time being. Its just not worth the risk. Glad you are having success though.
Really enjoyed all your shares and knowledge. That was a sweet deal on that lamp even as a reproduction. Let us know how repairing the top turns out. Following you from the great state of Texas!
@@lavenderclothesline Are you sure you checked "First Aid Beauty" Ultra Repair Cream? On ebay, if those items were all new, you were looking at an easy $50 and maybe more depending on which version of the Ultra Repair Cream it was.
I would love to see a video about how you go about doing your listings. Like how you research comps on how much to ask for, info you find important to include, pictures that are a must-have, buy it now or auction, etc. I’m newly getting into selling on eBay and would love some advice. Thanks again for your videos!
Word of advice. If you have a FB page and a Pay Pal acct. you can sell on your page and avoid all the fees. But if you want to sell on Ebay, just go to their site and they have a multitude of easy to follow instructions. It's very easy. Just google Ebay and go from there.
As u stated 'the shelves are full'. About 6 mos ago I dropped off some stuff at Fur Kids, they said they had to stop taking donations for a while bc they didn't have the room. Everybody stuck at home are cleaning out closets, attics, etc and getting rid of it. So treasure hunters, now's the time to clean up!
Where do you place your first two carts when you are on your third? Do the cashiers hold it? My thrift store will not hold anything, they ask that you cash out and place it in the car.
Were the comps on First Aid Beauty really low? I'm so surprised. It's not cheap. It's sold at Ulta and I think Sephora. I get mine on their site because they send better coupons. Definitely a higher end beauty item. The jug you first picked up probably sells for 45.
Embroidery with different kinds ofvstitching. Needle point is densely embroidered in a single type of stitch. There's no canvas showing. Look at images on line. I had that printed framed eagle in my house back in the 60’s and when I saw it on your cover shot for your video it made me check your video out.....I believe we bought it in Mass at the Sturbridge Village retail store and I sold it at a yard sale when we moved to a new larger home in Topsfield, MA.....I’m also curious if you sold it yet and how much money it brought for you.........I will be looking for your reply😬

Karen, great video..so refreshing and nice to see you in your element and loving it and sharing with us...Thanks so much
I ship mainly ship glass items and have been for 3 years plus. A box in a box principle with plenty of packing peanuts serves me well.

My great uncle was a streetcar conductor in New Oleans ,..he always wore a Panama hat ....He was a great story teller and I adored him.

I like the idea of snapping a picture of a sign that says Local Pickup Only and putting it in the picture listing. Great idea.

The information in both the video and the comments is very, very useful. Thanks to all.
Hi from Australia Karen - love your videos. The chintz fabric piggy at 8:21- ish stole my heart. 🐷💓
Oh I live in SC ! Beautiful handbag! Hilton head is a beautiful place to stay on vacation.
Awesome! Love your hauls. Super as always. Thank you.

The tiny red bottles in the bag,I believe, are highly collectible and worth a great deal of money if they are what I remember reading about.

Glad I subscribed! First heard of you from Casey! Have a Great Weekend! 😀
I loved the rattan vase that you put back. Too far for me to drive to pick it up! You did so well with picking up the right treasures.

When you find needle work with several different types of stitches it's called 'crewel embroidery'.
OH my gosh! That brown polka dot tall coffee mug was my ALL TIME FAVORITE mug and mine broke! I have never found it anywhere since!!!!
I wish you could get the wooden vase shown at 12:26 !!! I love it

That lamp and the eagle pic would be great in your friend’s antique booth- that way you wouldn’t have to ship them!
Noooo I would love the eagle pic!!!!
That basket you skipped was a great find. It was good quality, & I'm pretty sure Native.
The Ultra Repair Cream is sold at Sephora, Ulta, and they cost $25-$35.00 Love there lotions they are fantastic. I love to give them as gifts
Tambi Jo I did run comps and saw that it was sold very inexpensively on quite a few sites 🙁😁
That’s great, I will be purchasing my Ultra Repair Cream on eBay from now on. Thanks 😊

Everything a Goodwill stores has a certain, recognizable smell. What do you do about that?
Fab haul. Welldone. Great items!
This embroidery is called Crewel. 😊

Kabby Stevens yes, I pay and put it all in my car 😁 and go back in
Have fun in Florida !!! This video was great as usual I always learn something new & you keep me laughing as I list!
New subscriber. Love the wall pieces of art on the wall behind you in your home.
Is "white elephant" gift an Ebay search term? If so, that bean clock would have been perfect. 😂
Thanks for showing us your treasure!
I didn't hear anything after that cute kimono of yours! I want that! Beautiful. Congrats on the ginormous haul!
Great haul and good luck with your appointment! Let us know about flying at this point with so many changes going on, if possible. Thank you!

Just to let you know, never transport a clock with the pendulum attached. It will cause the clock to lose time or can cause damage. Good Luck
You are a beautiful classy Lady love your items and I learn so much from listening to you now I am ready to go shopping at Thrift Store

Back in the day?? We eat off of wooden TV trays everyday! Lol. 50’s-life is back I guess!
I love to shop at thrift stores too!
