    Julian understands the science of tinnitus. I understand it too, now. I have embraced all of Julians teachings. I still have a sensation in my left ear. I notice it rarely, and it never bothers me, despite It initially presenting as a scary high pitched sound that would jolt me awake from sleep. I truly believe stress caused the tinnitus. I agree with everything that Ade says, although I put very little importance on diet and medication in relation to the symptoms. Negative emotions on the other hand are very pertinent. Hands on therapy is a wonderful way to achieve relief and ultimately, recovery . I'm a trained counsellor, and mental health nurse, so I do have some authority . Thank you so very much for making this video xx

    Well spoken Ade. I'm in a similar position to you in that it's better but not gone. I'm not as bothered by it by a long way, and the introduction of yoga and better thinking into my life has been a welcome turn of events.

    I can't believe that a tinnitus clip would pay so little attention to sound levels: the applause at the end was DEEPLY uncomfortable. Surely I don't have to explain this to fellow sufferers?

      The content was great, but you do have a point about sound levels and particularly the applause at the end. I jumped out of my skin! Xx

      I agree the audio was awful. I had to decide whether to scrap it and waste valuable input or put it out there and let people hear the positive stories. The latter won out. Apologies for the poor sound quality.

      @@JulianCowanHill I'm sure someone online would be willing to help fix the sound. You could ask on reddit or somewhere. They should be able to grab the video from youtube, edit the louder noises, link you a copy to the new video and you could reupload.

    They all seem to have storys that run parallel with each other with the big emotional thing . Aid is also big on the body stuff and fitness but he has the discipline for it he shed load of fat within a matter of days on a gym regime it wasnt for getting rid of T. hes getting bigger again now in a good way on his recent vids. I dont seem to be able keep to a routine with anything I need help on how to stabalise my life.Hearing these guys talk just reinforces that Im not doing things right which kinda makes sense to why my T isnt getting realy low. will keep on trying though.

    Do you guys notice that sounds of fans and motors and air conditioning sounds distorted after getting tinnitus?

    • @alexcasanovamusic2112
      @alexcasanovamusic2112 4 роки тому

      is very simple. Fans are covering it so the body makes it louder. that is why he comes across. the sound basically moves on with other background. is a signal. learn not to notice.

    Remember to turn down your volume at around 15 minute mark. This is when everyone starts clapping and it is very loud compared to the rest of the audio.

      I understand you @Campbell Bennett. I got it after I read it's a side-effect of taking SSRI. I was unbeliveably scared of taking SSRIs but I was going through some terrible period in my life so I somehow felt I had to. I had my second half of the pill on my second day and read how you can get tinnitus from it on the internet forums, and I started listening to my ears if i can hear it, I couldn't hear anything, then I got up from my chair and as if somebody just switched it on - shhhhhhhhhhh... terrible static in both my ears. It's as if I invited it in my life. I went crazy with it. I am still going crazy with it year and a half after. I am working with thearapy to relax and sort stuff in my life that keep me in sadness and fear all the time. When I have days when I feel good about myself the tinnitus just backs off. I either don't notice and when I notice it, it's really quiet. But I haven't yet found a way to relax about it more consistently. I am just now starting with meditation practice. I feel strongly the way out of fear is the way out of tinnitus as well... at least for me. Self-soothing is the key. Hugs to you all.

      @@zrinkomaloseja2615 we have the same experience. I started hearing my tinnitus when I started googling searching online. Then one time I tried to listen if I have it and boom I hear it!!! Then the following day it never leaves me. It started to bother me 24/7. I guess I trigger my brains to be aware of it. I think I have it for a long time but my brains just ignore it. So I told myself, if I able to trigger my brains to be aware of T then I have and I can rewire my brains to shut this T off again. May God help me !!!!

      @@user-ye9hn7tb2z Hi! I'm sorry to hear that. But it is also a very empowering thing to know it is only your brain connecting something fearful to the normal, natural sound in your ears. I am not sure "how" exactly you hear it. I have had many experiences throughout my life where I lay down in silence and listen to the hiss in my ears but it never bothered me and I never got "hooked" on it - and it was also really quiet. The big difference is that the day when my problematic tinnitus started (what I wrote in my first comment) was after I have had a year of really severe anxiety. I would say that when I read the side-effects of the drug and read terrible stories of people wanting to end lives because of it that I have connected that fear to the sound in my ears. The fear is the main problem for me. I have had problems with OCD and anxiety throughout my life and I can see how my tinnitus experience is similar with many experiences that I had with persistent, unwanted thoughts that I had through my life. In any case, to get to the more positive part, I'm much better now. It has been 2 and a half years. I practice meditation to learn to be with it, I do therapy and work a lot on learning to relax. It is still here, but during the day I tend to forget about it. A lot has changed since I had a few sessions with dr. Bruce Hubbard who is doing CBT for tinnitus. Generally what Julian here is saying is basically it. You need to find a way to relax into life "with" tinnitus (mind you, it has always been there for you ;). Not to see it as a threat to you and the brain just tunes it out then. It goes into the background. Even when it's quiet. It is not an easy thing to do if you are scared of it, so you have to learn it, and it it's sort of a bumpy road, not a straight line. Well... at least for me. But keep perspective on how you got it :) That's important. It's a meaningless sound. A paper tiger.
      Take care. Write more if you wish...

    If the brain creates the sound, how come when people have used nasal sprays to clear their sinuses their tinnitus has decreased? Or simply removing ear wax has got rid of tinnitus.

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  Рік тому +1

      Clearing the sinuses brings the irritability down, helps people feel calmer and more relaxed and human again, so they can let go, switch off and settle. Clearing the earwax helps, people feel more comfortable and helps hearing work more efficiently, so you don’t have to listen out more acutely. This allows the sensitivity to settle. Hope this makes sense. Best wishes, Julian

    • @GM-bq6zo
      @GM-bq6zo Рік тому

      @@JulianCowanHill thanks Julian, but surely if there is a build up of wax for example, this is more of a physical issue affecting the pressure in the ear, which could lead to noise/tinnitus.

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  Рік тому +1

      Discomfort and a feeling of being blocked up and smothered hearing can cause panic and sensitivity to rise activating tinnitus. Easing any part of this can settle the hearing system back down.

    I do not think that a recovery is possible as these gentlemen say, it seems like a fantasy to me, I have already given up, 20 sessions of oxygen I fast fasting diet and nothing, 6 months with this shit and moderate hearing loss, then I went to a medical MIMBO SHIM Korean who has his tinnitus clinic, it turned out to be a fraud, I charge 15,000 US and I get more hearing and tinnitus, now I'm going to a healer
