Hi pal, just wondering if that 5 pin conecting socket there (at 0:19) has corresponding numbers embossed next to each pin, as that socket there (at 0:19) looks the same as the connection socket on the heater blower resister < this resister socket has the said 'embossed numbers' (1 to 5) at the side of each pins...
If so, do you think these numbers correspond for each coloured wire please?
Reason: I'm replacing a melted plug and resistor on Corsa D that has been previously done - the wire colours are different on the new plug and I think the previous attempt may have cross wired on at least 1 pin causing the melt/scary burn??

Looking down at the unit so the way I'm holding it on the video the wires running to that connector are coloured left to right as Black, yellow, green blue+red, orange
The Blower resistor connector is yellow, green, blue+red, orange, brown
Black ground wire for heater resistor should be in the loom to connect and same for the brown for the AC Controls which yellow green bluered and orange are connected but shifted 1 pin along to right as remember black is now in the left slot

Two years ago I took my 2010 Corsa's centre console apart to replace two tiny bulbs behind the controls. I unbent the bowden cable, put grease on the heater matrix gears under the dash, and it worked... for a month, until it snapped! I bought a new bowden cable set (OEM part 93189466), cut my hands up again fitting it only for the vent dial to shortly stop rotating again. I suspect it's got bent due to the heater matrix vents being "sticky" with old seals and thus hard to open.
It's a pig of a job and I can't be bothered doing it agan. I've now left the vent dial on the windscreen/feet setting and fortunately the heat dial still rotates perfectly.
In my opinion it's poor Vauxhall design to use a long, stiff cable to move plastic gears, especially as the vents under the dash get harder to move as they age. More modern vehicles use electric motors and buttons to change vent settings.

Vauxhall have a bunch of weird stuff like this, the way their gear linkage rotates on an axis attached to the gearbox housing with a single split pin is also bad as it sheared on me and rendered the entire gearbox scrap. They also red locktite this bolt in so you can't tap it out...
All over the car I can't find an example of a quality part, nearly everything is made as cheap as possible, even down to the door handle hinges being cast out of super cheap alloy that has a tendency to sheer.
I'd say it's actually less to do with the dials as these were fine in my car and rotated freely and more to do with just how hard the actual cable is to move in by hand that causes it to snap off.
Makes you wonder how these parts even pass QC do they not have a robot that turns the dials thousands of times to failure :/
With a profit of 5% per car which when these were new would have been about £1,000 - £2,000 making the door handles and the heater stronger probably would of cost them £2 extra lol

Yeah I’ve got the same issue, the right spindle is probably broken so you’ll need another climate control unit like this guy got and replace it.

Take the radio out with Stereo Removal Pins then underneath there is two hex bolts that hold this piece in.

The exact same bit broke of my control panel too must be a common fault with these cars
