I tried it,and I do have few more tips to add: - you don't want to be somewhere where the whole enemy team will go to or look at that place, like towers, building rooftops and such. You want to be somewhere where you have a sight on the point, but also somewhere where enemy wouldn't look by default. - this one requires some coordination, but Recon and Engineer should be parted, for two reasons: when you score a kill, they will know where you are, and they'll try and get you one way or another, and 2nd reason is that if enemy makes their revenge, they still won't know that there are actually two of you, and your dead squadmate can respawn on you (in HC recon should be squad leader so his squadmate can spawn on him). - SOFLAM (stationary gadget) is best used on chokepoints, wjere you dont need to adjust its vision area all that much. - if you have friends to spare, you should get another recon (for beacon and as additional tagger), support (for ammo and protection against enemy infantry) and medic (for defibs, especially if beacon is destroyed, and for protection against enemy infantry), but overall ideal swuad would be Recon, Engineer and Support.
We did a Support, 2 Engies, and 2 Recon. Split into 2 man teams of engineers and recons with the support dropping ammo at both locations with an APS system (if using soflam). Recons had PLD’s (or soflam depending on map) and spawn beacons.
@0xInternal he's implying the concealment element dude. Campers tend to conceal themselves in dark corners or bushes while pilots conceal themselves behind a flying metal box.
SOFLAM was what i did when the vehicles got too much and once the team realised that you are constantly targeting they start to all launch rockets, had some amazing moments in this game
Ahh the good old days when 2 recons with soflams o to the other side of the map and 2 engineers with Javelins go ham on their vehicles. The support guy with ammo crates came in clutch as well.
fuck. i wish i had friends when i was no-lifing this game back in 2013. i remember finding out how OP this was but i could never find a random squad who could pull it off properly. also if you're reading this: the gunner on pretty much every armoured vehicle in the game can take a SOFLAM system as part of their kit. certain MBT ammos and vehicle rocket systems can utilize this synergy as well.
i remember me and a friend doing this to a try hard little bird pilot trying to go on a 100-0 killstreak. the amount of slurs and death threats they threw at us as hilarious.
Could watch this all day long 😄 I always said that soflam & javelin is a deadly combo, but my mates never wanted to try it out for longer. Once we did this with soflam, javeline and supporter for ammo » boy that was fun 😁 I love the hercules theme for that clip btw 😏
i have a question. why don´t the enemy jets/helis use their flares? when i want to try this stuff out i usually hit nothing since they pop flares every 30 seconds....
This was the shit back in bf3 I remember those days well, it was broken cuz everything was a 1 tap that disabled the vehicle. Man I miss those days, battlefield 3 just hit different. Makes a grown man cry.
I recall playing one game of rush in paracel storm holding nothing but a pld the whole match. Took a bit but whole team got the message. Attackers couldn't advance with vehicles just because i kept painting them and teammates had missiles at the ready lol
Are you specifically talking about soflam or just laser designators in general? I tried soflam and had a horrible time with it always being destroyed by vehicle players that get locked by it and it doesn't effect them.
Tried this with some friends. Every pilot and gunner knew exactly where we were 24/7. (No clue if it was a sever thing or what, never actually got a chance to touch jets or helis in BF4.) The few kills we got though had quite a few people rage at us.
If i am not mistaken when a lock on happens the pilot gets a general direction of the lock on in the hud, once that is known the pilot if looking in the correct location can see the target designator glint. Good thing is keep your designator and your launchers in different locations, if possible have 2 designators in 2 different locations.
It's a good question, I think they are both one shots on aircraft, however the Javelin has a much larger lock on range (Javelin 500m and other launchers 350m). So I would definitely say the Javelin is better for laser guiding :)
Well if you laser guide it, the Javelin will shoot upwards first meaning it can shoot behind buildings. If you or your friend places down both the SOFLAM and uses the PLD to laser designate you can cover 2 angles on the map making it hard for them to hide. And then lastly whoever is running the Javelin can also run the AA mines, just to make the pilot's life even more painful :^)))
how to get banned any% i did this shit so many times with a freind and every single time we got the Jet abusing admin we got banned XD its so pathetic but back in BF 4 team play was highly rewarding cuz with stuff like soflam javeline u could always counter stuff
As far as I know, when countermeasures are used the rocket will keep flying to the last known destination. So for example if a heli pops ECM and it hovers in the same spot then it will still get hit once ECM run out (Javelin also hits from above so moving up or down doesn't work, but it's really down to luck in this case since the rocket is flying randomly around the heli). I think with flares the rocket just flies in the direction of one the flares, which sometimes allows u to relock the missile. Overall it just seems wildly inconsistent but ECM is known for this EDIT: I think with flares it really depends on the timing of it, when the missile is already directly above the heli and moving downwards it will hit regardless if the pilot pops flares since it will just continue this fast downwards trajectory and since the javelin is so fast its impossible to react in time mostly
As a veteran attack jet pilot with 100 K aj kills ill tell you, yes theres a way to escape javelin. Flares will never work against them if youre in the jet (idk about helis tho) but if you have ecm equip, just wait for them to shoot the javelin and you must fly really close to the ground and pop ecm (you must keep flying very close to the ground until ecm stops) if you do thia correctly the javelin missile will never hit you
