This album was wrapped and under the tree Christmas morning, 1980. Probably the best gift under 10 bucks I ever got! Thank you SANTA!!!

This whole album is great and Brian Johnson's voice is young and in top form.

You just listened to one of the most famous Rock songs ever recorded. The entire album is considered one of the very best Rock albums of all time. When this came out in 1980 my entire high school went to this concert! I was a Rocker and didn’t know this till the next day where it was customary to wear your concert shirt the very next day to say, I was there! There were so many kids wearing the shirt that I was stunned. It was black and looked like the album cover. Everyone knew I was a partier and Rocker. All the different groups of people who didn’t hang out with each other had it on. I’d never seen THAT before! Everyone was smiling. Everyone loves AC⚡️DC!
aside from Thriller, Back and Black has sold more albums than any other recording in history.

Amazing thing about this is that it’s the first single after Bon Scott died and it blew up HUGE! Back in Black was AC/DC’s first record w Brian Johnson and they killed it.

Fantastic song from AC/DC, I have it downloaded with a pile of others - I love this band. I know you've done a few AC/DC reactions but some other songs which are fabulous are Highway to Hell, Rock or Bust, Rock the Blues Away, Rock 'N' Roll Train to name but a few. The original lead singer, Bon Scott, had a really cool, borderline crazy voice! You should react to "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", with Bon at the height of his crazy...

“That sound” comes from recording engineer John “Mutt” Lange who later recorded and refined Def Leppard as he did AC/DC. He then recorded Shania Twain’s breakout album. EVERY song in the Back in Black is bomb. Legendary AC/DC singer Bon Scott had just died and was replaced by Brian Johnson so this was the statement, “I’m back in black”.

This was Brian's debut with the band, announcing that AC/DC was indeed back after losing Bon Scott. The entire album is in a sense a tribute and a goodbye to Bon, as well as an intro to Brian.

I strongly recommend you to try the Kinks, a truly groovy British band!
Certain masterpieces like "You Really Got Me", "All day and all of the Night", "Lola", "Waterloo Sunset" and "Sunny Afternoon" are pure history... There are other gems scattered throughout their discography, but I recommend "Celluloid Heroes", "Shangri-la", "Come Dancing", "Death of a clown", "Victoria", "Apeman" and "Autumn Almanac".

The interview series was brilliant - one of my favourite episodes was the one Brian did with Mark Knopfler. Another favourite was the one he did with Nick Mason of Pink Floyd. They were all great!

When we were kids, parents wouldn't let their children listen to A/C D/ on the radio cause they wore all black and they thought these guys were evil..Back then all families all went to church..Peace guys

Guys! Don't worry explaining for AC/ DC how people say their music sounds the same .In an interview on A&E Channel the critics said AC/DC made 10 albums and they ,all sound the same. Angus said "that's a lie! "We made 11 albums and they all sound the same!" This goes back years and people are just saying the same thing!ha-ha...When Brian Johnson was picked to carry Bon Scott's place after his death as new singer he was nervous untill Bon's family gave him their blessing, and on the same interview singer Brian Johnson said he had a visit and a chat with former singer Bon Scott's "spirit" plain as both of you seating next to each other. He also said that Bon told him a few things he was not to reveal to anyone...and that part took a serious tone! Brian says he gets the shivers whenever that part of their conversation comes back to him. But the conversation began to lightened up when Bon also gave Brian his blessing too. And all tragedy's aside for Angus who lost both brothers Malcom and George...AC/DC has continued success and new fans all the live long day and respect from many metal bands.When things go wrong for them on the road...the Highway To Hell is the good things they have accomplished in every venture, as a Heavy Band with alot of substance!!!
You are so right about this band. One morning the radio alarm went off and it was AC/DC playing, I don't know what song, but it was excellent. I'd never heard it before and I still don't know what it was. Someday I will find it again.

This was their 1st single after the death of their 1st lead singer. They were all down thinking their careers were over just as it started. Enter Brian Johnson and suddenly they were out of the "red" and they were "Back in Black"!

This album was an homage to Bonn Scott. Their first album after his death with a new front man. The title says it all! They are back but in black for mourning Bonn Scott's death! Brian Johnson knew he had big shoes to fill and he did it wonderfully!
