A lot of people disagree with AI but they’ll eventually need to come to terms with it. It’s how the world works, computers and technology have been putting people out of jobs since the start. This inspired me a lot. As someone who has a kinda short attention span, I often rush through a game, looking for the next upgrade, cool item or boss but losing a lot of the story and details in the meantime. When I look at lore videos I realize about all those backstories, links and little secrets hidden throughout the game that I lost in the process, and wonder what would feel like discovering it all by myself during a playthrough. Watching your beautiful work really inspired me: I’m going to start a new playthrough while keeping a diary (no drawing for me I’m really bad at that…) of what happens and what what I discover from npcs and item descriptions, I hope this will help me achieve that slow playthrough I’ve always wish I had (and maybe help with that through the dlc as well). Thank you for sharing your work and giving me this idea ❤
You've been scammed out of your time, lore videos are 80% fan interpretations of vague quotes found on item descriptions and character dialogue. I'm not saying it's dumb, those videos are made by talented script writers who can come up with some cool stories, it's just that most of it is fake.
@theYear-fx4mq the bad lore videos, yes. the good ones are not so much stories as they are people explaining their thought process as they try to decipher the obtuse story of the games. it's watching people enjoy gushing over a puzzle. pretty much the same "value gained per time spent" as watching any other cathartic video (wood crafting videos come to mind for me).
As an artist, I can say that I envy other artist who are able to have a project this big, doesn't even matter what your style or "how good" you are. Just as a person, I do quick one offs, and don't like to take on a project that I feel has a "mood" I was in one day, but then my mood changes and I can't work on that project anymore cuz the vibes are off. As I kid things were different but I'm the only one paying my bills and art was always just a hobby that made ME feel good. So it couldn't be a job for me
This is amazing. I would absolutely buy something like this. Game companies should take notes and release stuff like this with their games. It's like a cross between a strategy guide, art book, and journal. I love it

Your artwork is phenomenal and I can't wait to see the rest of the book!
You are an absolute madman with a beautiful mind. This is a masterpiece - from the portrait style to the typography to the way each component is formatted and blended together on the page. You have shown the true spirit of adventure, wonderment, and love of The Lands Between.

I feel like I've been blessed to have a chance to see your extensive work on my favorite game of all time.
PLEASE get this on print, I so desperately want a copy of this!!! I know you took Arthur's journal as inspiration for this, but this really makes me think of the Journal's in Gravity Falls, just exploring this incredibly strange world and commenting on it's oddities. I love all of the little personalization that make it feel like a Tarnished penned this as they traveled, from the comments of how many deaths it took to kill a boss, to calling the imps assholes

Humble, that's lovely to see, but I think many will agree that this is not the work of an amateur. It shows your immersion & appreciation of the game, enough to inspire you this much - it's lovely to see something like this. I hope you discover a maiden just as passionate as yourself in the real world too :)
This is heart-warming. Thank you for sharing.
Bro this is insane. As a souls fan, I absolutely adore this. This just exemplifies what Fromsoft wants to have from their community, just this level of love and dedication to every level of their game, from someone that is not fully versed in every little detail, specially so even, taking into account the company leads history.
If this was official merch I would want this in my collection in a heartbeat. Beautiful works of art honestly
watching this made me tear up a little due to how much effort and love went into making this and with it being so expressive of love for the game.
In 8000 years archaeologists will find this book and they will be convinced that it was a sacred book which explained the bizarre odyssey of a forgotten champion who gave his life to save humanity. Who knows they could even make a religion lmao.
And who was also a gay furry

Praise be to Let Me Solo Her
Our lord and savior, “First Mini Boss”
the developers need to see this right away!! this guy needs recognition!
I love the circular nature of the game starting on paper, moving into digital medium, being received by the user, processed and enjoyed, and then having the user move it back to paper.
600 Pages of such defined and convincing art? The art style is SO beautiful and confident it boggles my mind how there are so many pages of art.
This is like the unseen character in a game that catalogues everything for you to add to your journal. this is so cool
felt like a scientist/detective more than an artist most of the time.

“Crazed lunatic”, more like AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND, the illustrations are beautiful!!!!! If you made this like, an art book to buy, I’d get it in a heartbeat, it’s so pretty!!!
I have no idea what elden ring is but i'm only liking and commenting because one can feel the sheer passion and hardwork he put through. have a good day.
you should play it!

bro, this is objectively incredible. as a fellow artist who’s never finished a sketchbook (you know how that struggle is) not only am i impressed with that dedication, but also the countless hours of practice, practice and practice that led to this masterpiece. Not to mention you going an extra step to learn calligraphy and illumination. I’m also mad that you thought of this first lol. anyway, very impressed and very proud of you!
My son, you've made something really special here. Cherish it, keep it safe, pass it down to your children.
This is like a high quality tome/artifact you'd find within the game itself
Would be cool to unlock something similiar in a future game
Really spooky that your journey matched this medieval manuscript. Like your path in life was written centuries ago when Elden Ring was the real world.
Dude: please never ever doubt your talent! This is so insanely good! Artist to artist: this is objectively amazing and a really cool project
What gets me emotional is the fact you're telling a story that I have lived too, but from your own experiences. Made me reflect how we're all together in this...
Officially a legend. All real, 600 pages of real fucking beauty and passion for a timeless game. We are the ones who have to git gud at art, you’re a fucking master (and this is coming from an industry professional.) It’s such a joy to experience the game again through your eyes. I hope the FromSoft devs see this and hire you as an artist on their team one day.
And that ladies and gentlemen is no matter how perfect AI art ever gets nothing will ever beat the feeling of seeing something unique crafted by a humble human.
It’s great but a shame it’s for this game and not a game like Tomb raider or something else.
@@Zaphodox So... about that. If you look into how Ai works, in time, it will be better than people at all forms of creative expression... Its like saying that a 2 year old will never beat a master in art. Like sure, but they will grow up my man.
@@Salmacream your missing the point. Because AI can create anything better than any human ever could there is even more value in what a mere human manages to achieve. No one is impressed when an AI scores a perfect Mario Bros speed run, but when a human does it - it makes headlines around the world.
@@paulwoodford1984bro what are you on
This piece is priceless btw. There are people out there that would spend thousands for this. If not even more. Incredible
It would be a shame to sell something so personal. But prints could be cool.
This is incredible @__@
man loves peak
Bro got me into one piece, ofc he does
Indeed it is
i would love to rip this sketchbook up lol
@GrandLineReview usually i watch your stuff, cool to see you here in a random other comment section!😂
My brother doodles all his notes for D&D rather than write them down. This reminds me a lot of him (even if the art is a lot more polished!). This makes me incredibly happy
Someone reposted this on the Elden Ring reddit, it’s got a fair few thousand upvotes. My next hope is that many popular Elden Ring youtubers gives you a shoutout. I just wanna say to not worry about anything, if you get an overwhelming amount of love. It may come across as intimidating at first, but please do not let it shake your resolve. The authenticity behind this work is what appeals to so many people. You’re inspiring soo many people with this, as I’ve already seen some people say they are getting into art because of you!
Truly unique and raw way of re-experiencing the game, thank you. The fromsoft community have been sorely missing this 🙏🏻
No lie, watching this takes me back to when I used to draw Pokemon back in the day
Like, this is pure love. I'm kinda feeling emotional, like damn, I didn't even think people still loved experiencing games this much
I would ask if someone could scan this or at best, publish it, but at this point it feels too personal.
It's like selling someone's childhood diary
Glad you got something positive out of this video.
We agree! We'd love to work with him on getting this or something similar in print! Actually just started playing ER again and getting my dex/bleed build ass kicked 😢
Man that sketchbook is pure GOLD.
This is one of the most beautiful nerdy things I’ve ever seen
A lot of this stuff looks like actual depictions from old medieval art, reminds me why I fell in love with Elden Ring
Amazing stuff!
You can't just call that an "amateur artwork", that's amazing! It got the whole souls-like game vibe in it, which may be hard to replicatem, but your work just did the thing. It lit something in me, keep up the work
I'd genuinely buy a leatherbound book of this. It's absolutely gorgeous!
I would too, but no fromsoft doesn't make em so I made my own
I know it's overused nowadays... But this right here has got to be top 5 for internet checkpoint. It's just so genuine and wholesome, truly creative and inspiring. This is just something that has become so rare to just happen upon...
I'm convinced this is basically how medieval texts were made lmaooo
For real though I am basically a monk, now that I think about it.
@@artyzartifacts9799You got the maidenless part down already as a monk 😂
@@SAMPAIDAWGDevious lmao
Turns out Catholic monks had some pretty epic video games.
Two things: this is what Let’s Plays should evolve into, and you need to scan this mother and put it up for sale/ Kickstarter. What a beautiful project.
I feel wierd calling it a play through, More like stuff I found interesting.A comic book might be a better format now that I think about it.
yea instead of waiting a week for each episode it will be a month
We'd love to publish this!! I play ER myself!!
Oh god this is insane, please consider digitalizing this man, I would drop a hundred without thinking it, you truly have crafted something very unique here
This is awesome and creative. It’s so medieval. I imagine how old religious texts were made as fan art that got implemented into society. Great job!
during a time when people flock to AI to put in as little work as possible into creating while witnessing massive layoffs as a consequence, seeing the amount of time and effort you've put into this project makes me really emotional. I think the comments make it clear that this is very meaningful work. you are a great artist, you can't convince me otherwise
Dude put passion into every single detail.
A lot of people disagree with AI but they’ll eventually need to come to terms with it. It’s how the world works, computers and technology have been putting people out of jobs since the start. It also gives jobs at the same time, gotta adapt to new technological trends to make it or else you’ll be left behind.
Wizards comment is a comment IN SPITE of AI. Your comment doesn't add to that convo@@firemonkey1015
@@firemonkey1015has it ever occurred to you that humans actually enjoy creating stuff and not smashing some buttons to have a few seconds of instant satisfaction

If this guy published this book and sold it. He’d be a lot richer than I am. Amazing work man👍👍
nonono! screenprinted copies only - no digital allowed for this; it adds to it that it is ink on paper. I would love a copy but it should be printed with traditional techniques not digital ones.
I don't know anything about Elden Ring, but your drawings are STUNNING.
Thanks, I'm not sure how weird it is for someone who didn't play the game lol

So it couldn't be a job for me
I wish I had even 10% of the dedication this man has
This is amazing. I would absolutely buy something like this. Game companies should take notes and release stuff like this with their games. It's like a cross between a strategy guide, art book, and journal. I love it
As a graphic designer and illustrator, this is legit one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Superb idea, and the execution is incredible. Very, very well done, can't wait to see more! I would absolutely buy this if you were to get it pressed
You blew us away with your testimony on paper of one of the greatest experiences the gaming community has ever shared. This is magnificent
Through watching this video, I found myself tearing up for some reason. Maybe it's because I am experiencing the joy of someone else who loved this game as much as I did when I first played it or maybe it's the nostalgia of my first playthrough all coming back, but thanks so much for sharing!
It was kind of like a fever dream to be honest
As a writer one may argue I am a living thesaurus of the English language, but my goodness there is not enough words in my vocabulary to describe the sheer amount of joy you sharing your illustrations has brought me. I feel like I've been blessed to have a chance to see your extensive work on my favorite game of all time.
Also as a writer... This shit fuckin' slaps!
The duality of writers
This alone made me redownload Elden Ring and realize how truly grasping all of the elements are together. Thank you for this!
Can't print it for obvious reasons. might have to delete the video if anyone complains. but ya, I feel ya.
@@artyzartifacts9799 Really? They don't allow fanzines of this game?
@@artyzartifacts9799If VaatiVidya can monetise his Prepare to Cry series on UA-cam you can monetise something similar. Maybe youve borrowed a bit much here that it would be a pain in the ass to clear everything but if you made a visual novel just like this but instead telling the story of Vike or Shabriri you could sell that for top dollar. Millions of less talented people make a living off things not half as good as this. You deserve a spot and I have no doubt you'll get it.
My homie started doing a similar thing to this with the Witcher a couple years ago, now she makes stupid bank rolls off commissions - people asking her to design tattoos, do colabs, album covers, thumbnails, canvas throw ups, its her job now. Goodluck bro, you fucking rule. Thanks for this.

Your drawings made me appreciate Elden Rings fantastical setting even more! Reminds me of art for fantasy novels or old role playing games.
A book for each area would be incredible!
The book already has all the areas, just not all colored or labeled yet.
This is one of the most epic things I have seen as a fan project for a game. It looks so great and the personal touch is just awesome. 11/10.
