We use Oak Meadow too and are on all different lessons for each subject! I never thought to color code with tabs like that! Genius!
Love that you guys use soak Meadow as well. It’s so good for me to hear we aren’t the only one on different lessons for each subject! I have to use tabs because my brain would definitely forget where we are!
Thank you for this video! I have a soon to be fourth grader. What were your thoughts between lightning lit and oak meadow for reading comprehension?
For reading comprehension Lightning Lit! In Oak Meadow you’re asked to read certain books and sometimes do a project reflecting that book but nothing in the sense of comprehension questions. And yes, we do discuss the books but I also like to see him answer the questions asked in Lightning Literature. We used more of the grammar from OM and the reading comprehension from LL. Hope that makes sense. And OM often tells you that you can replace the book with a book of your choice so I would often just use the books from LL.

We also skipped the science lessons about the animals.
Yes, we already had a mammal study planned and decided that was a good time in Oak Meadow to throw in our mammal study versus the animal lessons they had.
