Question have a territory barra with the ba/fb engine with the 4 speed auto does the software cover the 4 speed box as well. As my ecu has packed it in?
I have one in my ba if I wanted to upgrade my boost solinoid can I use the wires from the factory solinoid or just run new one from the haltech plug , dpo #7 pin 16
Hi! Ive got a Barra that ive put in a 64’ ford pickup(in the USA). Id like to be able to set up multiple tunes for race, tow, eco. Is the stock ecu capable?
Send me a message when you’re ready to commence development of the BOSS version of this ECU... I’ll have the ute up there to be your mule for as long as you need it.
Mounting it in the engine bay is probably easier as you don't have to have the ecu loom going through the firewall into the cabin. But it does place more demands on the ECU - like heat, moisture and other environmental factors.
@haltech Yes. It may be the "heat" factor that is causing my 2009 FG XR6 ECU's to fail after a few years, ie; intermittent non-starting eventually leading to engine "cut out" while being driven.
What about using this ecu on a SOHC? I've recently converted to a barra ecu, TB, but still running factory (built) BTR. Is there options for this kind of setup?
So just wondering I’m putting a barra t in my vh commodore the motor box and harness are coming out of a ba do I tell the ecu it’s a ba or somthing differnt
So in affect this is bypassing the whole ZF 6-speed TCM problem,as in should be able to use a gearbox from any Falcon without having to worry about ECU matching TCM,Is this correct? ,cheers Johnny.
Gee I wish you guys had of made an 8inj model that did both modular v8 and barra. By the time you screw around with oem tuning and all the sticky tape the cost of these units is far better value at the end of day. The software looks really well thought out too. Support for Barra 6 NA but not the 5.4's????
How long before this plug in will be available to plug into a territory which is especially the same car. Trying to put an xr turbo conversion into an sz territory and can’t use your plug in due to lack of CAN settings. More than happy to bring my car in for you guys to make a copy of my software so you can make this as an option
I’m keen to get one as soon as it becomes available and I’m putting in into a titanium if that makes a difference. Also would love zf tuning as I’ll have the n/a box to start until I get a box built for it
bro im in un zud. new zealand techinally speeking, its right nxt to australia, ive just got my barra hooked up and it turns it into mild to wild, pack your baggs
@@haltech Okay. My mistake. I was thinking boost control solenoid. I've been doing a lot of research and saw some three port boost control solenoids and they are supposed to provide better boost control. Can they be used with the Haltech ECU? Are they a worthwhile upgrade?
@@haltech Will the ECU provide good control to the Turbosmart 4 port boost controller? In conjunction with the twin port IWG75 external wastegate controller the 4 port controller should give good boost control down to very low levels as well as at higher levels.
Here in USA I want to swap an LS in an older carbureted car.. I also want to use flex fuel which really is not supported by the aftermarket . I can get an ECM flashed with a flex fuel map but don't feel like paying a dyno tuner $600.00 every time I want to make a change.. GM ethanol Censor is $75.00 Haltech is like $175 . I don't know if there is any difference.. I sure want to utilize the two engine knock sensors the LS has .. Also not well supported by American brands.. The Elite 2500 seems to suit my needs. I am guessing I can purchase the less expensive unit that does not support data allowing as the Elite 2500 would have all the Data logging I need. Funny I contacted a local Haltch dealer In the USA and he told me by the GM ECM ANds wire loom and he would put the Tune Maps in it for flex fuel... I have not figured a total price but looks to be $3200.00 USA or more .. My 1979 Z-28 Camaro cost $7,190.00 new , mostly inflation but what a shock these engine swaps cost.. I need a Tremac magnum 56 Trans too.. Any advice @Haltech ?
Not sure what advice you're asking for - if it's regarding the choice of ECU then Elite 2500 will work no problems. If you're on a budget then we would recommend Elite 950. It will still do the job but you won't be paying for all the race features which you probably won't need. It will also support Flex Fuel. We do recommend getting a wideband controller too. The best thing to do is to give our tech support a call. One of our guys will be able to go through your setup and tell you exactly what's the best combo for your application.
@@haltech Thanks for response.. In your video you asked for suggestions on topics to cover .. My suggestion was to make a video of how to use your Instrument panel.. Can they go in fg n/a manuals. I seen an ad a little while ago telling us fg was coming but only up to bf was ready so far.
FG series 2 getting released this week:) Series 1 to follow shortly.
Is there plans to make them for the v8 modles of the ba to fg falcons
Not in the immediate future but we'll investigate the possibility of making them if there's enough demand:)
