If you enjoyed this one please consider giving me a like it really does help the video . Did anyone notice Charlie as Jason throughout the entire video in the windows ? 👻
LOL ... I always say anything with more than 2 ARMS and 2 eyeballs scares the living poo out of me..I I'm sorry but that face mask would not have made it. I am the worst about being afraid of spiders it would definitely have smashed it to pieces just to get the spider I'm sorry all those spider lovers that's nice but I would have squashed it like a bug no pun intended... I always tell the spiders we have an agreement you stay outside I'm OK ...you come inside your mine.. lol
Omg nick i didn't even notice im Charlie as Michael Meyers in the doorways and stuff!....in my defense I normally just listen to ur videos...I like the sounds of the turning and u waffling on. Thats a great easter egg lol
The craftsmanship is inspiring. I can only imagine the amount of blood, sweat, and tears it took to get to your level of expertise. The reflection of mike meyers was a creative touch. Lots of admiration seeing somebody doing the craft they love and making a living for themselves from it. 👍
That box is so gorgeous! The wood grain enthralls me and the black with the leafy skull finishes it perfectly. Enjoy the added piece of darker wood on the base of the lid too. Nice contrast.
HEY Nick~ Take some plastic wrap cut into circles, use mineral oil with mica for the colors, put the plastic in a small shot glass or a round ice cube ice cube tray and pour enough of the oil into the plastic so it will have room for air too. Tie off the top then leave a tail of clear fishing line attached as if it were a balloon. Use the disk I suggested from one of my other posts or jazz it up with an object like a melted record or an upside down fineal or a pyramid and attach the balloons with oil and air so they don't float up or got to the sides. Then do your pour. The finished piece should have a trapped bubble inside a bubble look. Again, use an up light for drama.
I absolutely love this piece!!! You done a fantastic job!! It's gorgeous! && Michael EVERYWHERE. At first, I thought I was seeing things. I went to the comments and was relieved to know I was not hallucinating. 😂 GREAT JOB, NICK!! ♥️♥️
Incredible project. I really like the added woods to hide where you cut the lid from the body. We always love the more involved involved projects, but your roots in wood turning are always fun. Thank you!
Laburnum, sometimes called golden chain or golden rain, is a genus of two species of small trees in the subfamily Faboideae of the pea family Fabaceae. The species are Laburnum anagyroides-common laburnum and Laburnum alpinum-alpine laburnum
I greatly approve of the spooky touch you gave this project. It's a beautiful piece, I love how you left the dark, rough stripe down the side. Gorgeous.
This is so cool! The side of the wood with the slightly darker design looks like a melting blob with it's mouth open in a scream! Spooky, indeed! Good one, Nick! Thanks! Happy Halloween 🎃🎃🎃🦇🦇🦇
Amazing work sir. Nice work with the face. I love how nothing you do is the same. Similar methods but always different results. a very seasonal piece without being cartoony.
THAT was a beautiful piece of wood. I like how well you matched the grains on her. Laburnum is a wonderful wood to work with. I had a long piece given to me and I carved it into a walking cane for a Lady friend. She later passed, leaving it to her Sister. That brought a tear to my eyes. Keep up the good work Sir. "Tamma"
Not L.H. Burnum, Sir. It's actually "Laburnum", which is often referred to as the "Golden Chain or Golden Rain" tree, so named for the gorgeous yellow flowers it produces. I've heard it's a quite lovely turning wood. Well done project, turned out beautifully. 👍
Laburnum has beautiful heartwood. The walnut spacer was a nice touch. With the chunk you have left a set of small nesting bowls would be a great way to feature the natural, beautiful color and grain of the heartwood.
Someone probably already found this... Laburnum, Golden Chain?? Color/Appearance: Heartwood color ranges from an orangish brown to a darker violet brown, darkening with age. Clearly demarcated sapwood is a pale yellow. Laburnum’s dark color make it suitable for use as an ebony substitute, particularly within its natural range in Europe. Wide rays can exhibit ray fleck on quartersawn surfaces. Endgrain slices of Laburnum are sometimes used in making a decorative “oyster veneer” pattern for use in furniture. I hope this helps! Thank you for sharing your time and skill, that is a beautiful result!!👍🤟🪡🎨
There are a lot of mythical creatures that involve horses or horse hooves. You could have possibly leaned into those, and defined the shape of the bottom "hoof" shape more for a project!
That's what I was thinking. Maybe it could become the central pillar for a resin end table? But it may not have been found in time for him to do that for this Halloween. But he could do it next year if it's even possible.
Haven't checked all the comments below to see if others spotted it but your turning was a bit spooky. When the wood was spinning you can see a spectral image of a grey face on the wood. I don't think I'm seeing things. It goes when the wood stops spinning. I think it's a reflection of the face/mask in the window behind you we can see towards the end of the video when you are showing off the finished product. Great fun as ever.
Totally agree with you on the spiders, Nick! Nothing worse than almost getting one on your face!!! 😱 Loved the Michael Myers in most of the background!!! Nice touch with the movie coming out soon!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Happy Friday! I'm not afraid of spiders. In fact, when we had our house, there was a resident by our kitchen sink window that helped take care of any flies or insects. Love the top piece! Great little stash jar! You rock Nick! 💯💯💯
Just after 4:30am, I get up for work, check my notifications, see the words that could only be found together on a thumbnail... Here... on your channel: " horse hoof, Nick Zametti, wood turning"... I can tell it's going to be a good morning!!! I hope YOU have a great one as well!!!
Amazing project! The spider story was absolutely terrifying. I'm glad I didn't watch this last night, cause the story would have likely given me nightmares, hahaha.
Beautiful work! I love seeing you get back to your woodturning roots! Don't get me wrong, I love your other projects too, but it's definitely fun to see you turning wood again!
Nick, you said you always have trouble with Halloween projects. How about this. Get a small pumpkin. Maybe 6 or 8 inches across. Use it to make a silicone mould. Then make a resin pumpkin and hollow it out on the lathe. (If you put the pumpkin on a block of wood when you make the mould, you could use that to hold it in the chuck.) You could put a light in it, and maybe even "carve" it.
I’ve turned laburnum into Christmas trees they look fantastic due to the two colours in it and if you leave a live edge it makes them look 10 times better.
the music in the beginning had a jean michel jarre vibe mixed with some airwolf theme, just added to the enjoyment of watching you work your magic on the lathe..... you wizrd you!!!
Nice work. I enjoyed this a lot. Sometimes a person has to go back and remind themselves where they started, it can be very satisfying. Glad to hear you enjoyed this project as much as we enjoyed watching you make it.
Laburnum! Lovely wood. I have a few bits I will turn one day. Hard to find large pieces because it grows very slowly. Really good to hear Maker's Central is on again - it sounded like it wasn't a sure thing! I will definitely be there.
Didn’t realise laburnum was such a beautiful wood. Loved the project but as someone who also dislikes spiders, I was glad I wasn’t holding my coffee when you inserted that clip 😵💫😳
That's not scary, it's beautiful. Beautiful wood. Amazing colors. Not really afraid of spiders, we don't have any poisonous. They're just jucky and there's the jump scare when a daddy long leg show up unexpectedly. A bit hard to focus with this video, had to watch that creepy dude moving around in the background. Please, stay safe Nick!
Loved it. The wood has stunning features, and the skull is a perfect finish. Spider wise... I'm not afraid of them; however, I found a black widow in my California grapes. The spider was taken to the insectarium and disposed of safely. I was told by the grape producer that they purposefully plan black widows in their fields to kill other insects. I have not eaten a grape since.

LOVED it!!😜
Was wondering if that was one of the fam. Great work Charlie very scary
Omg nick i didn't even notice im Charlie as Michael Meyers in the doorways and stuff!....in my defense I normally just listen to ur videos...I like the sounds of the turning and u waffling on. Thats a great easter egg lol
I saw them
Laburnum is a beautiful piece of wood to turn. Brilliant fun well done Nick.
Once you see the first face, you can't help but see them everywhere!
😂😂
Michael all over the place, I thought I was going crazy with the reflection while turning. Lovely piece of wood and an awesome piece as usual.
Same. Thought "oh fantastic! Relaxing wood turning video and then I'll go to sleep!" Not.
Good lord this creeped me out. Especially the reflection in the wood.
I think only the 4 of us actually saw creepy Michael throughout the video. It was a great video and a great piece!
@@LM-gq1om It was like O'dark thirty here and scared the crap out of me lol
i saw it in the wood and thought i was crazy lol
Great looking piece! The reflection of Michael Meyers in the spinning wood while you're polishing (15:20) it was a great spooky touch.
The craftsmanship is inspiring. I can only imagine the amount of blood, sweat, and tears it took to get to your level of expertise. The reflection of mike meyers was a creative touch. Lots of admiration seeing somebody doing the craft they love and making a living for themselves from it. 👍
Love seeing Michael creeping around. Specially in the reflection of the wood while turning! Beautiful work as always
I thought I was seeing things
When you gave your mask a dubious look I thought to myself "I'd hit it with the air hose." And sure enough, you did! I got a laugh out of that!
Same here. LOL
That box is so gorgeous! The wood grain enthralls me and the black with the leafy skull finishes it perfectly. Enjoy the added piece of darker wood on the base of the lid too. Nice contrast.
Charlie is a very good sport for the time spent staring in the window. Well done on the dedication to the effect.
That Medusa Skull really was the icing on the cake. One of your best projects
I loved the Michael Meyers reflections, so subtle, and absolutely perfect.
This turned out great!! Thanks Nick :) Labernum is one of two smaller trees found in the Mediterranean areas from South France through Greece.

GREAT JOB, NICK!! ♥️♥️
I really like the plain wood turning like this. The acrylic stuff looks toxic. The natural wood is beautiful.
Incredible project. I really like the added woods to hide where you cut the lid from the body. We always love the more involved involved projects, but your roots in wood turning are always fun. Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏽

I love that you had Jason from the movie in the background as you where working .

Beautiful box. I thought you were gonna use a spider in the lid. Keep them coming.
We loved the face in the piece as you were buffing/sealing the piece! It was spooky-tac-ular!
Dark wood candlesticks could be a good starting point for some Halloween projects... might be a bit late now but I do love wood turning so much...
Love it! My 5yr old son and I are big fans and he said you should put a scary ghost in it or a pop up snake. It's very nice either way.
While working on the lid I thought you had painted part of the pot white, so glad it was just tape. Loved the project.
I just picked up a huge trunk of laburnam. Beautiful wood grain.
Beautiful work, Nick! Love the scary Jason and the face I saw in the turning at 15:25
Laburnum has beautiful heartwood. The walnut spacer was a nice touch.

It’s beautiful. Love that wood. The grains are flowing.

That last bit set the whole thing off! Well done, Sir.
Wet crappy day at work.... Home cup o tea... And a new NZ video.... Always chills me out.... a joy to watch... Cheers nick..
I'm a bit late to the (Halloween) party, but this is a lovely piece! Probably my favourite of everything I've seen you make so far! 🖤
nick i had an idea. hard candy(runts gumballs ect) in resin and put it on the lave. might make something funky with that. love this video. thanks
I LOVE trinket boxes!!
The charm is perfect.
There are a lot of mythical creatures that involve horses or horse hooves. You could have possibly leaned into those, and defined the shape of the bottom "hoof" shape more for a project!
Jersey Devil comes to mind...

Wow it’s fantastic, LOVE the charm, looks super cool on the black. The feature in the inside lid of the wood is really cool.
Totally agree with you on the spiders, Nick! Nothing worse than almost getting one on your face!!! 😱
Loved the Michael Myers in most of the background!!! Nice touch with the movie coming out soon!!!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is BY FAR the best video you’ve done in a VERY LONG TIME!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!
I absolutely stayed till the end to see if Jason was gonna get you. what a fun exciting moment I hadn't anticipated! Love your work!
Great job with Jason! Especially when the pot was on the lathe 👻🤣
Happy Friday! I'm not afraid of spiders. In fact, when we had our house, there was a resident by our kitchen sink window that helped take care of any flies or insects. Love the top piece! Great little stash jar! You rock Nick! 💯💯💯
Very beautiful Nick! I think you could classify this one as a 'Memento-Mori' project. A great keep sake box as well! :)
just right to hold a pet's ashes.
Great place to carry your offerings to Artemis. You know, for the irony.
Oh you're right..a little sneaky scary touch on a beautiful piece..Thanks Nick
Just after 4:30am, I get up for work, check my notifications, see the words that could only be found together on a thumbnail... Here... on your channel: " horse hoof, Nick Zametti, wood turning"... I can tell it's going to be a good morning!!! I hope YOU have a great one as well!!!

Love it Michael Mayer everywhere the reflection well it was turning was amazing 😊
Beautiful work! I love seeing you get back to your woodturning roots! Don't get me wrong, I love your other projects too, but it's definitely fun to see you turning wood again!
I don't know what kind of wood that is but it is beautiful. I like the detail you did inside the lid. Great job Nick

laburnum is great for turning and has nice heart wood, also the plant itself is poisonous and part of the pea family.
That reflection of Micheal had me looking behind me at first.nice creative on that
This video kept popping up on my feed, so I finally watched it. Another fine job! Love all your work! Don't ever stop!
In the body of the tub when u were polishing so cool

Beautiful Halloween piece. I would keep this out all year long.
What a fantastic piece of craftsmanship. Just beautiful!
Nice work. Scary enough! Very good to see you ply your considerable wood-turning skills again.
Watching you make a regular smooth cylinder was the most unnerving thing of all. Great video, thanks!
I like that wood grain, especially the raw part, and the knobbly inside, I think tis cute and funny.
That's beautiful! Love the charm with the skulls and snakes!
Now that is a great project. Not just for Halloween but year round. Happy Halloween to you and the Family.
I love it I bet putting green resin in the skulls eyes would have been so cool but even without it it's beautiful
Laburnum! Lovely wood. I have a few bits I will turn one day. Hard to find large pieces because it grows very slowly.
Really good to hear Maker's Central is on again - it sounded like it wasn't a sure thing! I will definitely be there.
This is my favorite type of video! I love to watch you create something beautiful out of raw wood. You are not alone I hate spiders too
Very nice Nick! Pretty wood. I love how you never really know what kind of wood it is that you're turning.
That turned out really nice!
Beautiful! I love the elegant spook aesthetic. Any little goth kid would be tickled to death to have that on their mantle or antique side table.
Wonderful project. I love the wood grain, and the skull piece on the lid. This really is elegant scarry. Thanks Nick, for this video.
Awesome! Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Didn’t realise laburnum was such a beautiful wood. Loved the project but as someone who also dislikes spiders, I was glad I wasn’t holding my coffee when you inserted that clip 😵💫😳
The barely visible Michael Myers was a really nice touch. 👏👏 Great video!
Beautiful Nick. The scary part was seeing the face on the side when you were spinning it. I hate spiders too.
Thanks Nick. Glad to see ya back on you tube. The scary piece turned out very nice. Be well
Beautiful wood. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me.
It’s Laburnum, a beautiful flowering tree that has beautiful yellow hanging bracts of flowers in spring early summer. Looks great, beautiful wood.
Great job as always! I loved the different camera angles in this video and the super slow mo is always so satisfying.
Love that wood, it turned out real nice and I quite like the black resin and skull embellishment you added to the lid
The first thing I zoned in on was your friend in the background of the intro. He looked a little pale back there in the shadows!
I love this and I love Mike Myers in the background! nice touch
Beautiful wood. Not too scary loved Michael appearing throughout that was scary lol
Elegantly scary is a Thing. Maybe even an entire design theme! I know my friends will love it.
That woodis beautiful. I love this!
Handsome piece. Nice visual effect with Michael’s visage floated in the video.
I'm SO with you on the whole spider thing! That mask would have been tossed and a new one purchased --- just in case! **shudder**
Very cool looking and a perfect fit. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful spooky little jar ✌️🥰
At first I was like why is he doin something so basic? Then BAM, he does it again!!! Another Masterpiece!!
Happy Halloween to you and your family🎃 What a fantastic piece of work you made😍
that kind of wood looks like something that would make great mugs
Ooooh, I want that!!! Lovely piece Nick. Glad to hear your waffling & see ya on.
glad you found the spider before you put the helmet back on. though watching you find it mid-work would have made a fun clip i guess xD
