I would like to see you do something like the wood shavings in resin you did a while ago but with coffee used grinds set in resin. I'd like to see that done in a vacuum chamber instead of a pressure pot. I think that would look nice
As a professional seamstress and resin artist I have the most important hint for you Nick. Get any fabric that you want to use wet. That is what it is going to look like in resin. SOME will stay lighter by small amounts if you spray it with several light coats of matt clear spray paint first. ALWAYS test a small piece before going for the big one. Love you and your sense of humor and love for your family. I always smile when you post and I always enjoy your videos and projects no matter the outcome because NO ONE has perfect results and it's so encouraging to see that someone who has skills and all the tools can make mistakes BUT can make something out of the mistakes that can become a pretty cool project in the end.
I’ll be looking forward to see, what you’ll be doing with all the shavings. Because that pen looks cool . Again, what about making a lampshade. I think, that it’ll look so funky with loads of colour and textures from the resin, and whatever you put into it. Again great work 🍻
I come to your videos when i need a lift. The imperfections are the best bits, by the way. Your fearless willingness to dive in and give anything a try makes this the best. Thanks for sharing!
Love it !! Ok hear me out ... A yarn bowl. made from loads of different colour yarn in resin FYI a yarn bowl is what knitters and crocheters put there ball of yarn in and it feeds through a swirling hole
The woffel! got to love it! I don't mind the small tasks, as long as it has the woffel... and your quirky behaviour... pleas dont be boring we love you for you! Don't ever change from who you are!
I think it’s come out smashing. I am glad I haven’t added this to my hobby list… I’d be making funkadelic pens 24/7. I was thinking one made like a galactic space swirl, or just neon swirls, or metallic swirls, or Orbee embedded…. Or… I need to lay down until this passes. Lovely work as always Nick.
Those screws holding the pen mold together are Robinson screws, they looked to be size 8 Robinson (aka Red Robs because the handles were colour coded to the size). That type of screw was invented in Canada and is very common here. They are way less likely to round out than the USA style Phillips screws. I used to wire houses with my Dad and when he got a Fixture that was made in the USA that used Phillips head screws (star head) he would throw away the Phillips screws and use Robinson screws as he felt they are way better.
dude, your craftsmanship is on another level.. I thought you'd make a pen that just has a hole for the actual pen part, but you made a whole first class pen with lid and everything, what the heeeeck
As always the funkadelic hair!! 😂That was the word that came to mind as you paused to dramatic effect!! 🤣 Kind if like my word blingtastic!!🌟 A pen made from bright plastic toy bits might be fun!!🌈 Lovely pen!! 🤗😍
Your creativity is so inspiring! Don't feel guilty for doing small projects. Those are easier for beginners or people with limited time to try for themselves. Big projects are also AWESOME, don't get me wrong. But varying your projects allows you to reach and inspire people at any experience level. 😊
It might not do well but it would be very interesting to see a video of all your tools you use and have a little explanation of what they do and tips on using them!!
Such an awesome looking pen Nick. If it wasn't for you posting at 2am my time I would watch when they are uploaded because I love your videos. Keep up the great and funky work
Love watching your adventures into making things. They're always weirdly fun and so entertaining as well as offering a wealth of instrumental instructions so we can try it on our own. I don't have any of the tools you have (drooling over your tool barn) but the information you pass on is invaluable and has given me some ideas for a few future projects. I hope to be getting one of the projects started over this winter. Thanks for all the wonderful fun and inspiration you've given me since I started watching you. Happy creating and enjoy the journey to creating your master pieces!
Making another pen by using the shavings from this one would look abso-tudal-lutely awesome!! I love all that you do, Nick. You are so talented. Keep up the awesome work, Nick!!
I like anything you do, good or bad. You make it fun and interesting and, as said in a previous comment , you can turn your mistakes into something good. I always look forward to video's.
I think fabric & resin is my new favorite projects from you! You could make pens & tables from here on out & I would be happy haha! That pen was gorgeous, the dark tones make it look like a pen an business executive would use.
I got a taste of wood turning by making 3 pen sets, 2 were for gifts and one is mine. I must admit, they turned awesome. Loved it. Your pen is lots of fun. Good job. 💕😊💕
I'm glad you mentioned the shavings. It will be interesting to see what you do with all your shavings. I bet you can make something that looks amazing.
Had the pleasure to turn a pen in my high school wood working class. Wish I still had it. And my grandfather wood turned. But unfortunately my grandmother sold all of his gear before I could offer her some sort of deal. He had EVERYTHING
My clock is 25 minutes away from tomorrow. I should be in bed, but I’m a victim of insomnia. If I go to bed now, I’ll just flop around until at least 4am…I do enjoy good old Nick and he helps pass the time.
Thanks Nick. I haven’t made a pen for a couple years And hope to get back to it when i get a little stronger. Spent the last couple years in and out of the hospital with a couple medical problems. It was great to see it done again. Again thanks for sharing. As for the blank areas inside, just learn to paint your tubes before glueing them in the blanks. Do them a dark grey or even black. the small holes should be filled with CA. And sanded and polished as you finish the pen. Nice job on the pen. It’s a great looking pen!
Pen turning is how I got into wood turning. I like pens so much I've stuck with pens and haven't moved up to big stuff yet. 🤣 Even though it came out dark it's still a cool pen.
Another great project. I was wondering when came up with this idea … we’re you in a pen-sive mood! 😊😊 Thanks again. Looking forward to your next upload.
Just got a new lathe. I haven't done a pen in ages! I used to really enjoy that. Thanks for reminding me. I love the way that one turned out. Although I agree it turned out a tad bit darker than I would've expected, it is still a beauty.
I’m coming back to live in the UK after over 20yrs living abroad and will most definitely be checking out the pen kits and Katie’s work as I’m wanting to start my own shop once I’m back. As always, excellent work Nick that pen looks beautiful.
Sometimes getting back to a simpler project is a nice break and brings as much joy and/or sense of accomplishment as the larger, more involved ones. When I turn pens or handles it becomes an almost meditative process and leaves me feeling relaxed and accomplished. That's a sharp looking pen, Nick. Though darker than expected, the handkerchief still adds flashes of bright color as you roll the pen and look at it from different angles. Well done! 👍👍👏👏
I love the waffling. That is what makes your channel so fun .You make us smile. I have to ask now you've edited all the good waffling out, BUT I thought I heard a horse nay in the background or have I finally fallen fowl to the zammeti waffling curse.😂
So purdy 💓 great project. Alot of small details and you can't see anything on camera. Thank you for the advice and the slow motion isy favorite part. It looks cool but also helps me see the motions of turning too. Great job as always!!!!💖
When you pulled it out of the blank mould, I actually said wow out loud! I did woodturning a little bit in secondary school DT but never really had the time for it again. Your videos give me the escapism I need 😂🥰
I’d like to see a project where you put all the shavings, off cuts ,anything that’s nothing into a big clear resin vase/bowl thing so we can see bits of your past achievements in one celebration project 👍
My sister and I used to make pens and pencils a lot with our Dad back when he was healthy enough to do stuff out of the garage. He had two wood lathes. A full sized and a mini. Loved making stuff on them. I found it so easy and so much fun. Too bad I lost the lathe my Dad got me when we had to move into an apartment, but now I'm not well enough to stand long enough to make anything on one.
YAY, YOU’RE BACK! That pen would fit my arthritic hands perfectly! Much easier to hold onto and control. Truly enjoyed the waffle and energy. You’ve come a long way since your last pen blank videos. Would it work better if you rolled up the material instead of cutting it up? Seems like the brighter colors would stay together more and the layering as you turned it would be interesting too.
Hey Mr. Zammeti, just watched an interesting video on resin pouring and preventing thermal cracking. The gentleman used a slow set epoxy and placed it in a refrigerator to cure. He was pouring 8 to 10 gallons of resin at a time up to a foot deep with no thermal distortion or cracking. The drawback was it did take the resin almost a week to fully cure and you do have to degas the resin in a vacuum chamber before pouring. A small office fridge would probably do the trick.
This is a really cool pen I really like it. You are very clever and one of my favourite wood turners. I bet you will make something cool out of the shavings as they are awesome. The pen is really lovely and I love your banter.Well done Nick x
The idea is a good one and the pen came out wonderfully, i love the kaleidoscope kind of effect it has developed with this method. It almost certainly looks amazing out in the sunlight, those shavings were pretty awesome too and i'd like to see them in a project used like confetti frozen in the resin 😄👍
I love it! I make my own pens and I love ‘chunky’ pens as I have really big hands and little pens make my hands cramp. Awesome job - I’m definitely gonna try using bandannas in a blank once I get my pressure pot! Love your videos. Keep calm and waffle on!
I enjoy all your fabric makes. They always come out cool. With cotton fabrics, try giving them a wash in some very warm water before using them. It will let some of the extra dye come off the fabric so it doesn't bleed quite so much in the resin.
That looks good mate. Another excellent video you really inspire me to try to turn things if only lathes weren't so expensive. Love the energy and keep them coming. Big or small projects I love them all and the commentary

NordPass? I thought it was NORDVP? Did they change the name or is this a different one???
BTW... WHERE"d U find THOSE bandanas?????
I would like to see you do something like the wood shavings in resin you did a while ago but with coffee used grinds set in resin. I'd like to see that done in a vacuum chamber instead of a pressure pot. I think that would look nice
@Ginger Banks seriously? He's one man, experimenting with something new, and you expect a production line?
As a professional seamstress and resin artist I have the most important hint for you Nick. Get any fabric that you want to use wet. That is what it is going to look like in resin. SOME will stay lighter by small amounts if you spray it with several light coats of matt clear spray paint first.

hey thanks for that tip , really appreciated xx
This is exactly what I came to the comments to say! Although I think you did a much better job 😄 haha
I love that you sort of hoard everything up for later projects! Also this is by far the best makers channel on UA-cam.
Yayyy! The waffle is back! Waffle on good sir
I love the informational waffling. The pen is nice. I am obsessed with pens. You don't ever have to apologize for your projects. We love all of them.
Ooooh the finished product looks great. Would love to see you make another with some really vibrant colour resin. Great work as usual Nick
I’ll be looking forward to see, what you’ll be doing with all the shavings. Because that pen looks cool .

WOW Paisely in Epoxy needs to happen more often. That looks amazing

YESSS! I can’t sleep. I NEED this right now. ♥️♥️

It broke my ❤️ to see you cut up a beautiful piece of fabric.... then I remembered, you are an artist! That pen is amazing! Beautiful!!
I love watching anything you make and I don’t care what time of day or night you post.
dude, your craftsmanship is on another level.. I thought you'd make a pen that just has a hole for the actual pen part, but you made a whole first class pen with lid and everything, what the heeeeck
Loved the pen! I don't care if its a huge crazy project or a small one, I am here for it all! and I always love the waffles
As always the funkadelic hair!! 😂That was the word that came to mind as you paused to dramatic effect!! 🤣 Kind if like my word blingtastic!!🌟 A pen made from bright plastic toy bits might be fun!!🌈 Lovely pen!! 🤗😍

Hello Nick …from Alberta, Canada. I’m a cross stitcher but every time I watch your amazing channel I think I’d like to try working with resin. 🤗🌟👏🏻
Beautiful! Never knew how pens were created and now I know! ‘Insertion!’ - my favorite of all your gags! ❤️
I love the big projects, the little projects and everything in between projects. I even like the re-watch projects! That pen is gorgeous.
Art is defined by the size of the medium. Be it the side of a mountain or a grain of rice, art happens where talent and inspiration meet the medium.
The blank was just so cool looking. The final results 🤯
It might not do well but it would be very interesting to see a video of all your tools you use and have a little explanation of what they do and tips on using them!!
I would be proud to sign my name with that beautiful pen. Really love ❤️ the colors
Such an awesome looking pen Nick. If it wasn't for you posting at 2am my time I would watch when they are uploaded because I love your videos. Keep up the great and funky work
I could see those shavings in a big sphere with a light under it. Magnifying the tiny pieces.
Absolutely gorgeous! And the pen is nice too. 🥹
In addition to unique ideas, and beautiful art, your videos are super entertaining.
Love watching your adventures into making things. They're always weirdly fun and so entertaining as well as offering a wealth of instrumental instructions so we can try it on our own. Here I am! Sorry I was late. I’m always here for a weekly shot of Nick!

Love it! And transparent part just adds more character. Thanks, Nick!!
I like the gold creeping through, adds character!
Ahhhh, who needs ta go to bed. Sleep is for the weak...well rested but weak.
Nice pen Sir! Love the look. Keep them waffles coming! KCWO!
I'm glad you mentioned the shavings. It will be interesting to see what you do with all your shavings. I bet you can make something that looks amazing.
That was a cool project. Big or small, all your projects are very entertaining and educational to watch.
I'd love to see something (IDK what) made from all your shavings. I always think they look cool and you know you always have so much!
Love how you are always trying something different, quite like the pen style you used too
Thank you so much 😀
Awesome job, Nick!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

That is so cool. I had a cousin that did pen kits like that for a while. It's really neat to see them come together like that.
I've missed your whip crack when you put on your gloves. It just lets me know Mr Funkadelic is in the house! Thanks for sharing, Nick!!
This is so lovely! I'd love to see a pen that was made with delft pottery in it.
Thanks Nick. I haven’t made a pen for a couple years And hope to get back to it when i get a little stronger. Spent the last couple years in and out of the hospital with a couple medical problems. lovely pen... I love that it's so dark from far away but when you get close it's quite colourful... nice use of the handkerchief
Another great project. I was wondering when came up with this idea … we’re you in a pen-sive mood! 😊😊 Thanks again. Looking forward to your next upload.
Wow! The pen looks great! I love how you take all sorts of non-usual media and turning it into something to use in your every day life. Thanks Nick!
I think being able to see the barrel works well. It gives you the opportunity to see and pick up on all the layers.
I love this channel. Your humor makes me laugh long after your video ends. How about a wooden goblet? Holy grail?????
LOVE those bandanas! Would make a nice western style quilt top.
Nice, loved that you could not only the colors of the fabric but the texture too!
Love the pen! And, personally, I like the brass showing through. Gives it a glass look.
Just got a new lathe. I haven't done a pen in ages! I used to really enjoy that. Thanks for reminding me. I love the way that one turned out. Although I agree it turned out a tad bit darker than I would've expected, it is still a beauty.

I would love to see more pen projects! It’s a cool and different shape that you could play around with!

Hey there Nick, you should make a glow in the dark pen. It's perfect gift for Charlie.
That looks awesome. The smaller your project the darker it will be even if you use the same material in a bigger project such as your table. Good job
It came out great, the darker colors are fine.
It looks amazing. Nothing wrong with a small project
Thanks for the video, Nick! It was a fun little project. I like these just as much as the big projects.
I really like the pen. I love The colours in the pen.
I’d like to see a project where you put all the shavings, off cuts ,anything that’s nothing into a big clear resin vase/bowl thing so we can see bits of your past achievements in one celebration project 👍
You are the King of strange. I love all your work.

Live the pen project! Brilliant finish. Great to see you again, look forward to the next video! Xxx
Really love this one!! Turned out really well and I actually like the small gap showing the blank!
Love seeing you make a pen, yes it has been ages since you’ve made one !
Those shavings themselves look like they'll be fun to work with!
I like small projects too! Big or small it's always a good time with your videos 🖊✒️
You could do a fun bit with a rollup of various brilliantly colored and patterned ribbon....

I love how it looks! Dark, yes. But the details up close are super cool.
The glossy finish is amazing!
This is a really cool pen I really like it. You are very clever and one of my favourite wood turners. I bet you will make something cool out of the shavings as they are awesome. The pen is really lovely and I love your banter.Well done Nick x
Lovely...a silk pen! That's a new one!
That bit ofbthe barrel showing kinda gives a neat view of depth. I think it's cool!
Oh my! Stunning piece of art! Love watching your creations appear, those shavings would make something so cool! Thank you x
The pen is beautiful! I love the colour! Everything you make is amazing.
Thats one of the first things you've done I want to make. It almost has a DC comic them. Thanks for the inspiration. 👍
My gosh Nick the pen looks magnificent! Well done! You really are so talented!
Beautiful pen, Nick! I like that it turned out darker than expected.
Fab pen. Looks perfect to me. Unique and beautiful.
The idea is a good one and the pen came out wonderfully, i love the kaleidoscope kind of effect it has developed with this method. It almost certainly looks amazing out in the sunlight, those shavings were pretty awesome too and i'd like to see them in a project used like confetti frozen in the resin

Nice to see you doing a small project for a change👍
Stunning. I absolutely love this. Beautiful piece of art. Thanks for doing this Nick. Amazing!!!
I enjoy all your fabric makes. They always come out cool. With cotton fabrics, try giving them a wash in some very warm water before using them. It will let some of the extra dye come off the fabric so it doesn't bleed quite so much in the resin.
I really love it when you revisit your old projects but with the twist of where you are at now. Nice one Nicky 😎👌🏼
That looks good mate. Another excellent video you really inspire me to try to turn things if only lathes weren't so expensive. Love the energy and keep them coming. Big or small projects I love them all and the commentary
