- I was extremely impressed by the results we had when testing this product, so much that I won't be going back to clam for bait again. I go over the many reasons why I liked this product so much.

This is better comparison than all the these other guys fishing for pompanos and putting fishbites with real shrimp and pretending it's the fishbites that are catching fish, the bait should stand on it's own, like this video shows, salute
Thanks for the feedback 🎣
Love the fish bites for trigger fish , now I will try them on the porgies. Thanks Todd.
I have to get on somw triggers this year on the reef
Love the comparison, nice job . Thanks keep it coming .
You're welcome!
Thanks for the vid. I’m going to test those crab fish bites when I go to Massachusetts in a few weeks.
Porgy time on Long Island. Haven't done that in many years. Good eating if you can handle small bones. Nice video showcasing the artificial baits. Between Gulp and Fishbites, I see little reason to stay with real squid, clam or shrimp.
Great for tacos!! 👍
Great video as always Todd! And Fishbites killed on our recent Sea Bass trip. Definitely outfished clams
Awesome! Good to know
Gotta try blue crab, liver, shad, crawfish
Great tutorial. Love the insight on product!!! What size hooks are you using and how deep were you fishing.
Thanks, 3/0 hooks in about 35 to 40 feet of water.
Thank you for this. Much appreciated. Is there a reason you didn’t use clam flavored Fish Bites? Thanks.
I didn't have a that flavor on board
@@LongIslandLethals Thanks
I've had great luck with fishbites for porgys.
Nice🐟🎣👍
Also I've tried to salt the clams and kinda dry em out a little. That works pretty good. Also I'll find a bunch of the inedible mussels and chum with em. Can't wait for the porgys to come in thick here. Great fun
Any particular flavor? I've tried to few and haven't had very much luck. I very much want it to work.
Great video here though
@@AOMilvado fish'n chunks cut to a smaller size. Squid worked well
@@AOMilvado squid and clam worked for me
I love fishbites for kingfish instead of blood worm. Have you ever heard of striper fishermen using the fishbites bloodworm? The fishbite bloodworms work awesome for kingfish and pompano.
I have actually. One guy was telling me about it last month.
Love your videos what 🎣 reel are you using looks sick
@OscarPerez-zt1rg that is the Van Staal VR75, very light weight for all that alloy. Drag system is a much faster adjustment than most other reels.
@LongIslandLethals thank you I appreciate all the information keep the good work
What towels do u use the orange ones and is that a rubber band tying them on?
Micro fiber with a carabiner clip, they have 3 packs on amazon.

@@fishingbear69 thanks for watching. Will have another out later this week on weakfish, and one on jigging porgy.
What Bay are you fishing on this video if I may ask? Thanks in advance.
Peconic
Thank You again. 👍👍
will they catch sea bass?
Oh yeah, absolutely
where are you fishing, guessing Peconic?
Yes
Fishbites bloodworms work good for spot croakers
Thanks for the info
Yo man so my boat is docked in port washington so where would i have to go to caych nonstop porgy?
Any bay in the spring, the sound or ocean about 30 to 40 feet deep in the summer. Just have to see them on your down scan and anchor up.
@@LongIslandLethals okay so i gotta be honest man, im 15 usin my dads boat, i dont got a downscan. Hows it work? I just buy one and bring it on the boat? And which one u recommend?
@@adilh08gym garmin is the most user friendly. I'd go with that. A 9 inch unit will have down scan, side scan, and echomap chart. I'll be making a video about all my settings soon.
was that a 17" porgy?? at 2 min?
No, the big porgy was around 9 min. That measuring table is 32", the porgy was just over half.
What size hooks do u using?
3/0 VMC
What area are you fishing?
Peconic bay

Fish bites is better but the water temp has gotta be above 70 to work real good
We were fishing in 55 degree water that day, the porgy show up slowly around 52 degrees. So. That was a good bite for 55 degree water on the fishbites.
Thats why the have the fast acting fishbites without the mesh for water temp below that
The fast acting stuff works good for that in winter. They melt too quick in warm water though.
Not sponsored by Fishbites ...are ya?
@@hihowego4133 no, if you watch any of my other videos you will see me use mostly other products.
I've found using scissors worked better than a knife and a lot safer.
I haven't cut myself with a knife since I was in my 20's. I use them everyday and many power tools with no guards that I removed myself. I am very conscious of what I am doing. I will trying my crab shears next time though. Thanks for the tip.
Which flavor fish bites
I was using squid but they have clam flavored
Just wondering.
With the fish bites are you anchored up and using chum pot as well?.
Thank you
Anchored. I've caught with or with out a chum pot. Chum pot gets them more aggressive.
Does fishbites make clam scented strips?
Yes they do, I did not have that pack.
Just bought the fish bites let’s see how they work next wk - thanks for advice mike_tnfoutdoors
Have a great time!
